    Placed an order @ 1158hrs. for a (Christmas gift) of another item and for the Gold Flowing Hair @1202 hrs. A difference of 4825 between the 2 order #'s. "Received email for both @ 1158 &1202 respectively. "Confirmed" emails for the 1158 hrs order @1209 hrs and for the 1202 order @ 1226 hrs. When I clicked the "continue shopping" I was put back into the waiting room for 3 mins. and after was able to add the Flowing Hair to my bag and complete the checkout.

    It's important to recognize the U.S. Mint has a checkered history. The really crazy stuff may have stopped in the 19th century but the there's been plenty of shenanigans in the 21st too.

    They sold 109,000 of the High Relief coins in 2009, so limiting the mintage to 17,500 makes no sense if the Mint was trying to realize higher revenues & profits.

    Que sera, sera. It was such an iconic design, too.

    Ran 2 windows starting at 10:55 (CST) and kept refreshing both until waiting room came up at 10:57. Refreshed at 11:00, got in, checked out, confirmed at 11:01 923xxx Got initial email confirming order placed, says a followup confirmation email with more details to follow within 24 hrs. Confirmation email at 11:14. Very impressed with how smooth it went (for once!)

    I expect all the privy pieces will go higher than simply cresting five-figures. However, I doubt many "frustrated" buyers for the ~$3,600 pieces will end up as serious players for the privy pieces.

    I was on the fence. Loved the look of these but that was a lot of money. I was 50/50 on whether or not they would be a first day sellout. I’m surprised (or not?) that we haven't had NJ give us the real scoop yet, since he obviously has a crystal ball.

    10 to 15% go to ABPP folks. Those are the only people who get advance releases. They also have a product limit but not a HHL of 1.

    Did they hand out numbers?

    Last time, they gave everyone a number up to the number available and then let them in one at a time to purchase. At that time, they were all spoken for in the first half hour of the show but it took 6 hours for my dealer friend to actually get in to purchase. He was 3xx out of 500 available.

    Nothing like having access to a coin that is only available at a show when you know that the secondary market will already give you a great profit if you want to turn around and flip it. 😏

    Last time they did a Baltimore release, they only had 500 coins on hand. I would not assume that there are a huge number of coins there.
