  • Again, while that is an expensive lot, it is all over the place. I could use the 1959 Topps, but not the rest.

Why was it sent to Blee when nobody took his lot? I thought the revised rule was the lot/card doesn't go out until the next lot gets taken?

  • swartz1swartz1 Posts: 4,911 ✭✭✭
Some board members thought Blee wasnt offering enough in return for the lot he "took"

I think VCP was sourced multiple times...

so he decided to put it back up...

    class move...

now, ironically here it sits... 24 hours +

My bad. I didn't know there was a rule that I should wait to ship. Should I take back my lot and offer up something else to get this all started again?

I might be getting it confused with the other thread (want a card, take a card). Or, it was an unpublished suggested rule by someone on here.

Brian ... I would contact BLEE1 and see if he has your stuff. If he does and you guys agree that he will ship back your items, maybe putting up a new lot, with fewer cards, would be a good idea.

If you do, I would include in your post that you will not be shipping out the cards until you get your other cards back from BLEE. IIRC, there is no rule that states you need to wait until the next lot has been taken before shipping.

The lot currently up for grabs is the one on the last page with the four PSA 10 '76 Topps cards.

I believe blee1 has it, and he's going to ship it back to bkritz (or maybe ship it to the person who claims it?).

I'll take the lot back from Blee if I can find a suitable replacement. The cupboards are a bit bare at the moment but I'll look tomorrow. If anyone wants the lot from Blee, take it, by all means!

I am having a tough time coming up with a replacement lot that would be appropriate.

The only lot I can offer is the group of psa 10s from 76 topps and 75 sspc, plus a psa/dna slabbed 1952 bowman Feller. As I mentioned before, the cupboards are a bit bare at the moment.

If that doesn't help, someone should just step up and grab Blee's lot.

  • DboneesqDboneesq Posts: 18,219 ✭✭
Brian, if it is not too much trouble I suggest you re-post the original lot as well as post pics of the new lot. Let people know it's either LOT #1 or LOT #2.

I believe having these new pictures would help move the thread along.

You know, the more I think about it, I did my part and posted a lot, which was taken. Everyone seemed to like my lot and Blee took it. Shouldn't someone simply take the lot from him instead of me posting alternative lots and whatnot? I will try and post the alternative lot soon but don't have a ton of time or energy right now and don't want to be responsible for this thread living or dying, when I did my part.

Sorry if I sound like a grump.....

    B
  • DboneesqDboneesq Posts: 18,219 ✭✭
Brian ... yes, you did your part. We were just seeing if you were willing to help out the thread. If you are too busy and don't have the energy to post the pictures then just say you are not going to and tell BLEE to post back the lot. Simple enough. IMO I didn't think it was asking very much. I apologize if it was.

Here is my offering...perfect for the vintage Yankees collector....

1936 Joe Dimaggio TIME magazine. FANTASTIC shape for its age! (The magazine has NO issues - the ones you are seeing on Ebay, that sold for $20 had three holes in it - the lowest one that is at $100 has a mailing label/address on the back, plus has a tear/tape on it - this is actually closer to the ones valued at $200/$300). Try to find one in this nice of a shape cheap....I dare ya.....
    imageimage

and a Lou Gehrig BAT card graded by BGS....a raw one sold for $60, and another raw sold for $85. I value the graded one at $100. (valued @ $100 - it is on Ebay for $150. If someone offered me $100, it is gone)

    image

I will also include a 1988 Hartland 25th Anniversary Clemente statue (no box)....I dont have a camera, but it looks like this....(value = $40)

    image

    1988 Harltand Aparicio Statue....again...no camera, but looks like this...(value = $10)

I will add this too....unopened vintage wax from the 60s.........I sell these for $100. PWCC sold some 9's for $57 each @ not too long ago. So I will put a value on this pack of bewtween $80-$100. That puts the value of everything between $330-$380........

    image

I can change up if need be.......but the value is there......
  • The values are getting so high, that I think people are having to put up too many items. The more items, the less likely someone will be interested in all of them.

I think if someone wants to put up more value, that is fine. Although I do not expect anyone to have to put up more than around $200 or so. Does anyone else agree? I think the intent was to be close to the value, with something someone would like.

I really think Bobby has put up a more than generous lot, but nobody wants to pull the trigger knowing that they will have to put up atleast $300.

  • Nice Gehrig. DiMaggio is overrated.

Now you head from a Yankees fan.

I'm just not a fan of modern or cutting up the game's history.

That is a generous lot from Bobby. The lot values have gotten up there in value, and I have no problem with it. I am waiting for one niece piece in one of these lots, that fits my own PC before I jump in. I have some cool extras to throw in when the time is ready.
