Glad someone took that. They were both nice lots. Hard to pass on a 1952 Topps Feller, but I am shocked that noone pounced on the Brooks memorabilia.

I know, as I said that bat was very, very tempting. It's even the same model as my signed Killebrew bat. But I'm not a jersey collector and don't need to $tart!
Here is my offering. Please choose one of two lots:
LOT #1: 1952 Bowman Willie Mays (2nd year card). Nice shape except for some light tape residue on the corner and a wrinkle on the back. As always, apologies for the lousy cell phone pics. The white spot by Willie's elbow is glare.
LOT #2: HOF Rookie Cards- '57 Topps Brooks Robinson RC, no creases, nice corners and a football HOF lot with a Montana & Elway RC + a couple of other cards. I pulled the FB cards from packs in the past year and they are all quite nice.
Collecting Clemente master (#6) and basic PSA registry sets, Hank Aaron master and basic sets, Mantle oddball issues, 1970's mega decade HOFs, 1967 Topps pin ups, and high grade Topps Clemente and Aaron. Numerous transactions with over 100 board members.

Maybe there is someone that wants the Brooks Robinson Jersey. I am sure if you contacted Justin, he would take the Mays and put up the Robinson for someone to take. This would get the thread moving again.
Just a thought.

Heck, I live in DC and need to get on the Harper bandwagon. I'll take the lot!
My lot is a bit of everything for everyone. 4 psa 10 1976 topps, 2 psa 10 greats from 75 SSPC, 3 PSA 9 1968 beauties, some great autos, and 3 mid-grade 59s that look like 8s but have slight slight slight corner bends from being put into an album with those corner tab thingies (I didn't do it, I promise). I hope this fits the bill for someone....
Blee1, send me your address! I am psyched that my lot went quickly. I always have a bit of anxiety when I post a lot, as I don't want to look like a bum for throwing up a lot no one wants!
<< <i>Hold on a second! Did Felix Millan seriously hold his bat like that or was that a goof? -Doug >>
Pretty much. If it's a goof, it's not much of a goof. Millan would choke up on the bat like half way up to the label, maybe even more. He would swing for the fences and hope to poke one over the seconbaseman's head.
Man, that was a nice lot bkritz...I am suprised it took 15 minutes before someone took it!

OK, sorry, new to the board and group. How does this work?
Is it like a "trade" thing? If I take the lot, I let the person know I want, then I put some of my things up on the board and hope somebody takes that lot off me?
Let me know ASAP, as I have some stuff that I will gladly post up!
Collector, never a seller, because selling demeans my childhood obsession.
Time to change this lot up. It has been 4 days with no takers.
EDITED TO ADD: Most of the time the lots go faster when there are 1-3 valuable cards as opposed to a large lot.

Guys, I am not trying to be mean spirited here, but the reason this thread hits a wall, is because people put together random lots that have absolutely no significance. The lots may have the value, but who is actually looking for that many different inexpensive cards that don't even go together.
If you want to give options where you are trying to get rid of some of your stuff that is laying around. That is fine. Just have other lots with one or two or even three nice cards that almost anybody would love to have. When people do that, one of their lots is usually grabbed up within 30 minutes.
Hope to get this thread moving again,
Brian

Sorry, I wanted to add one more thing. I don't know if we should vote, or if scmavl who started this should make the decision. I have always waited to ship my item until the person who won my lot, had his lot taken. I really think that is in the best interest of this thread.
I have been thoroughly enjoying this thread, and I have made several other trades with others because of this thread.

Blee1 ... I have not seen any changes in your offering since we PM'd about 9 hours ago. We all would like to see this thread continue.
The lot you took has a VCP of ~$350.00 (that includes me assigning a $10.00 value to each of the 4 autographed cards).
I did not calculate the first lot you offered, because it has been sitting for 4 days and nobody has taken it. However, the VCP of the two new lots you have offered today are as follows:
LOT #2 - ~$115.00, which is 1/3 of what you took and LOT #3 - ~$70.00, which is 1/5 of what you took.
If you do not think you can make a similar offer to what you took (and putting up 35 - 70 $5.00 - $10.00 cards is not similar) maybe you should put back up what you took.
Hoping that you can come up with something similar so you can keep the cards that you took.
STAY HEALTHY!

I agree 100% with Brian and have not shipped until the lot was taken when I have won. And Doug is correct on the values of the most recent lots. This is the Pay It Forward thread. Not the get rich by giving up less valued cards thread.
As an outside observer to this thread, I think it would be a good idea to have roughly a plus or minus of 10-15% of VCP that way you do not have to necessarily top the previous and of course no one wants the lots to get so big and expensive that it slows the thread down to a halt.....

...which is what has pretty much happened. This thread has pushed well over the $200 mark and it eliminates a lot of the participants. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that would love to jump in but don't have what it takes/want to part with what it takes to keep this thread moving. I mean if you look at what was traded to get this started to now it's amazing the leaps and bounds the lots have taken.

I think a couple of you guys need to relax. I'm not in this to be putting up lots that aren't equivalent. Some of us don't have VCP for instance, I for one do not. Doug's little break down of my lots, are not even close to what I have in them. So I may have paid too much. That Robinson I have $130 in it for instance. Guess I could break it out then we wouldn't know it's a five....etc... I've been traveling; in fact I'm at the airport, right now and will come up with a baseball lot. So hopefully you guys will get off my back. Also being mostly baseball lots has been boring as hell for me, as I collect football primarily. Being a Pete Rose fan as a kid, I thought that 76' would be nice to have then trade off the rest. Being able to put up different sports I thought would be more entertaining. Guess I need to have higher value cards that are not in my PC to throw up. BB lot will be up very shortly. Doug, if you could let me know what the value of it after I put it up so I know if I should add more would be appreciated.
Hey Skip ... PM sent. I agree with the values listed.
Doerr - no VCP but there is a B/O on eBay now. $25.00 or B/O. It has been up for 3 months and still there. I gave this a $20.00 value.

I commend Blee for trying again. I think guys need to give their items two days and then try something else. Like I said previously, it is not the value most of the time. Sometimes it is. The problem is, there is one card out of all those that I can use. I certainly do not want to give me $150-300 lot to get back a $40-60 card with a bunch of other cards that are worthless to me.
I suggest people to have a few lots to choose from, but atleast one of them should be one or two cards only that have near the value of the lot you take. Something that you are sure that many might be interested in.
This lot is much better than the others, but still looks like a tough one for someone to take. Far too many cards that will not fit into someone's collection.
