ok i have 3 choices from 3 different sports to choose from, sorry no hockey those just hurt too much to put up . please pick one, i'll add more or change up if they go stale.
1. baseball, rookies of 2 great SS. ripken looks very nice, chipper was a 90's ttm so around EX.
2. basketball. 2 certified autos of 1st ballot hof'ers. duncan is a rookie and kobe is 2nd year. (my scanner suck, kobe's sig is very vibrant and bold, not dull like scan suggests)
3. football, peyton signed certified rookie. maybe greatest qb ever and could go all the way this year.
Did we just go from $200 a lot down to under $20? I don't even think each and every card TheZodiacCollection put up would even total $50 let alone taking one lot.
The Duncan is a $100 card and the Kobe is a $90. Where is the return value in this new lot?
Please tell me I am overreacting but I am not seeing it.
WHOA! What's going on here? How did we get from a $250.00 lot to a $10 - $20 lot so quickly?
ZODIAC ... the items you offer are supposed to be ~equal to what you took. This is not supposed to be a "make big bucks" thread! I think you should offer up 1- 4 cards worth $150.00 - $200.00 (NOT 50 cards worth $3.00 each) or else not take the lot you did.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
On page one of this thread the PAY IT FORWARD rules were established:
These are two of the rules stated:
"While it does not have to be of exact equal value of what you took, please offer quality cards that someone can appreciate".
"Please do not discuss the value of the cards being offered. If you don't like them, you don't have to take them".
Please correct me if I am wrong, or I have interuppetd the established rules incorrectly, or if the rules have been modified since they were first established.
HOWEVER, look thru the thread and see how things get paid forward! While the next items are not always of equal value, how can you put up $15.00 when you took $150.00 - $200.00? What exactly are you "PAYING FORWARD"?
While it does not have to be of exact equal value of what you took
As stated, it does not have to be EXACT, but would you not infer from this statement (and by looking at the thread itself) that it should be SOMEWHERE near what you took?

Ok, I withdraw my offer, and I will not take the lot I requested.
As a newbie, I would like to just past on that the pay it forward transaction thread is not very clear, maybe for those who have been involved in it for the past six months. For a new guy trying to join in the fun, it is not easy to follow the process when the current rules contradict the established rules on page one. So if I understand correctly, a user placed a value of $190 on the cards I requested, so I should offer at least $190 worth of cards or more?
Sorry for wasting everyone's time. I don't have a $190 card that I would want to part with right now.

There is eight months worth of thread to read through. I will take your word for it. I withdraw my offering and I will not take the lot. Thank you.
ok guys got a few pms, i was going to send the cards out during my lunch but since zodiac withdrew himself i guess the lots are available again.
i've made it a habit of not sending my address for shipping from the previous lot until my lot has been claimed. i think it's cleaner that way and doesn't cause too much confusion if a conflict arise.
The rules have been edited on the first page to make this a little clearer. Thanks to Zodiac for bowing out since he said he didn't have anything of that caliber to offer at this time. Sorry your first experience on this thread didn't go well.
Oh a happier note...
churchiscool's cards are still available and those are some smokin' cards!

Tom, for alot of members that seems to be the case.....I loved the analogy on the other thread of the PSA 10 Dan Marino rookie taker, who puts up a pair of PSA 6 Nolan Ryan non-rookie cards.......a good idea in theory and only works when everyone plays fair. If everyone left behind less than what they took, pretty soon you are left with a $1 card up, and a dead thread.
I'm so glad I got in on (and out of) this thread when it was all about sharing cool stuff and maybe "churning" our collections a bit by passing on things others might want and picking up items someone chose to share. Now, it seems like it's just a death march.
There's simply no way these threads work if people (a) always have to "up the ante" instead of staying in the same general range, or (b) always try to "cheap out" on what they offer back up after (maybe impulsively) grabbing an item they want.

I know there have been some issues with the thread, but overall it has been one of my favorite threads to follow and participate in. For those who are interested we have some nice lots up for the taking...like to get this back on track.

I think it works fine as long as you hold your lot until the other is taken. I have done that each time i have won. BTW, my lot is in transit right now.
Bobby, I don't think that is Basherboys lot. He just added a statement to it.
Anyhow, I agree with Troy(FavreFan1971). I think it is moving along fine. You should hold sending your item until the next gives up something nice. Also, I don't think we have been overly personal! Guys are just calling others out who do not put something nice enough up. It does not have to be exact value, but should be close. There have been a few nice lots that became pricey, but they work themselves back down so all can play.
Just my two cents worth. Carry on!

THE BELOW ITEMS FROM CHURCHISCOOL ARE BACK UP FOR THE TAKING. SHOULD NOT LAST TOO LONG, AS THERE ARE SOME NICE CHOICES. I LIKE THE CHIPPER/CAM/CARMELO TRIO.

I got my lot today from JHS5120 and can I just say WOW?!?!?! Not only did he send me the Ivan Rodriguez GU bat, but another GU bat signed by Melky Cabrera.
Thanks to SleepyDave(Dave), and BasherBoy(Dan). Both lots showed up today. I received the 2005/2006 SPx hockey box, and the four card lot which included the 1958 Roger maris PSA 5.
Thank you both so much, they were awesome offerings and helped rejuvenate this thread.

I received the 1957 Mantle from Jarrod (scmavl). Thank you for the great card and your willingness to ship it to a dark and strange land (Canada). This is one of my favourite cards.
Also, a thank you to Brian (captainthreeputt) for the kind words and the current/future trading we will be sure to do.
