My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
offerings: 1962 Mantle Holiday Inn PSA 6 - nice 6 Type 2,3, or 4 Mantle vintage photo used for the Holiday inn series
or unopened wax 79 opc wax ryan out back and 74 wax pack

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Nice offering Manny ... SOMEONE is going to jump on these. Some to put away and some to R-I-P!

<< <i>good morning gents. there are 3 '82 packs. did not think this offering would bring on jeers like the form Vett. Sorry to disappoint you Vett.
thought it was a fair offering for the '74 and '79 pack. If no one claims I'll throw something else up later.
enjoy your day boys and remember--it's all about fun!! >>
No jeers intended. I sincerely thought that was one of those 36 pack bricks that BBCE has for sale. It looks exactly like them. Sorry that my comment came out the wrong way.
Up next is a lot of high end raw Topps cards of HOFers from the '70's. Note the '75's are the regular size issue and the '74 McCovey is the Washington NL variety.
<< <i>Why is that 1972 Cepeda not graded? Very nice and sharp card! Looks like a 9 or 10 to me........................ Bob >>
I just took a good look at the Cepeda. It is very nice. However, I'm not sure the back would meet the 90/10 centering requirement. It is close though. Anyway, this will serve as a bump for the evening folks.
And.............out of curiousity, please reply if you typically look at this thread and would consider claiming stuff that is to your liking. I always wondered if it was just a few people or a bunch of people. I think it's a really cool idea and would like to see it continue.

This is the 1276th post in this thread, but it's my first. I've been lurking around this thread for some time now though, waiting for something that interests me to pop up.
Hard to answer your question on how many are doing the same, but it's at least one more.

Will try to get something different or add to on Friday evening.
Got my package - very nice, thanks! The 82 Donruss packs didn't last longer than 5 minutes. Mint cards but light in star quality. THe PSA graded ones stay entombed.
Anyone for a nice lot of signed 1980's cards? All these cards were obtained by me through the mail. Back in the mid-80's I used to send many, many cards to get sent TTM. Sports Collectors Digest had a writer (Dave Miedema) who would let people know who signed and who didn't. I used that information to target known signers.
<< <i>How about two HOF rookie cards? '82 Ripken 8 and a nice '51 Bowman Monte Irvin.
>>
Not trying to be an ass here, but would YOU trade 10 autographed hof/stars, for a 35 dollar ripken, and a 20 dollar irvin?
A few pages ago someones offering was a psa 7 clemente (150-200 bucks easy)....how are we back here? I thought the goal of this thread was to pay it foward...not unload a bunch of undergraded cards that have been sitting in peoples collections, that they cant sell to buy what they just took.
In defense of scmavl, he is the one who started the thread, giving away something in the beginning without getting anything. If it dies here, it has come full circle, as someone else mentioned.
I think this thread really got out of hand at one point (hence the other "cheap version of pay it forward" thread). I don't necessarily think one needs to put something up of equal value. It should just be if you are interested in what is offered, grab it, not "how does this offer compare to the previous item".
Great way for a thread to end...Black0a0ss is just trying to cause trouble...If you haven't contributed to the thread by participation..then keep your comments to yourself....He sounds a lot like Blackitalian.
Daniel ... I have to disagree with your statement: I don't necessarily think one needs to put something up of equal value. It should just be if you are interested in what is offered, grab it, not "how does this offer compare to the previous item".
I believe the cards you offer should be CLOSE in value to what you have taken. Unfortunately there are a few people on this board who try to make a "score" on this thread, but thankfully there are not too many.
In this case I believe what was offered is FAIR and I disagree with Black00SS. I will use his figures of $55.00 for what was just put up. IMO, what was taken was worth ~$65.00 (remember, none are authenticated or slabbed), so that is, IMO, a FAIR offering.

I knew people would disagree, that's why I put the 'just my opinion' disclaimer.
I'm just in these boards for the fun. I enjoyed participating in this as well as in the 'want the card take the card' thread. I do agree that people shouldn't do it to make a quick score.

I dont "sound" like anyone....and I dont even know what you are referencing (probably some kind of back handed insult)
As far as contributing....i am waiting until I see something that suits my collection to contribute.....and no need to worry, my offering will not sit around for a week or better like some have.
Finally, if the truth hurts...tough. I thought the goal of this thread was to pay it foward. Looks like we are going backwards.
Let's hope something just as valuable appears from SleepyDave!
