Ok lets see how long it lasts till its all over 15,000---20,000 But what will over be ? All AP coins shipped, ATB grading fever over, E-bay selling for melt. Where will it all end. Maybe when the 2011 ATB`S start rolling out or do we need a new 2011 ATB thread ???? the insanity continues
That statement is full of oxymorons, overwhelming demand, phone only and 3pm to 5pm eastern. Maybe they only have 2 hours worth of coins left, or they have a huge call center and will be able to handle all the calls. Who here needs/is actually going to try for more?
They NEED to let people know several things. Amongst them...
Are they taking full orders (- like MTB) or just names on lists - and then will follow up with forms, info (- like Dillon Gage) How the coins are/were handled? What are they being held/shipped in? When they will ship? How much a set will be (shipping/taxes)? What methods of payment will be accepted?
<< <i>This is gonna be that Prudential nonsense all over again. Jammed lines, only 8 people ever get thru and then the sale is over. Pretty bogus. >>
Couldn't have said it any better. That sums it up. I mean, who do they think they are fooling? How can they have "overwhelming demand" if they haven't released any for sale yet? Kinda contradictory if you ask me...

I understand that they may have overwhelming demand i.e. inquiries via phone and internet, but how does this translate into the reason for only taking orders for two hours? The term "Mickey Mouse" comes to mind.
Not for nothing, but most of the people complaining about the way the coins are being sold; probably have purchased at least 3 sets... I have bought as many, moving forward anything else I get is a bonus and I am not loosing any sleep If I do not get anymore. Lets face it, the people at the Mint are wussies and they will not do anything to the sellers that did not comply with their terms.

From all the "new" PCGS grades that I've seen so far (and I've seen many) - almost EVERY SINGLE one has been PL or DMPL except for about 50% of the Grand Canyons. My predictions based on this... 1 - The old (plain) 69's will (continue) to fall in price. - I just saw a bunch of singles sell $500-$600 on ebay. 2 - The 69PL's will become the new normal - standard set. 3 - The 69DMPL's will be the set to get (although I've seen tons of PL's and 68DMPL's - not as many 69DMPL's.) AND ONE KEY PREDICTION ---- 4 - The Grand Canyon 69PL - and even more so the Grand Canyon 69DMPL - will be the single most valuable coins. (most of them are really hazy, and wont get the PL, DMPL designation.
<< <i>How many on this board would send it back for regrade ??? >>
No chance. Not going to waste $600 in grading fees - and with my luck the DM/PL parade will be turned off by the time my pucks are ready to be graded...
As said by Cakes on the previous page about FideliTrade's packaging, "That is correct, I just got in a set a couple days ago. Small 4X4 box, each coin in an air-tite, then dropped in the small bubble wrap sleeve. Then all covered with a thin amount of foam and stuffed in the little 4X4 box. Much better then the first shipments."

EXACTLY!!! That was my immediate thought when I saw the pic w/the error message. WT*? Graded in error??? How exactly did they find that out? NGC just happened to call them?? B.S.
As many of us suspected, this was B.S. They or NGC read this thread and nixed it - too much at stake to have this non-70 sold as a 70. We all called this one immediately :-)

Yes, I think that many of us are VERY, VERY used to looking at these large coins. Give me a break!
That said, they did pull it in the end and get a few points for that...
This MS70 fiasco reminds me of the children's story about the king with no clothes. They paraded this coin on ebay & basically said that anyone criticizing it was doing so out of ignorance. Gotta love it!

The real question to me regarding the CNT sales is the price. Are they able reprice to spot on 3/8? Has there been a new agreement with the Mint?
This is going to be a phone nightmare.
EDIT: MS70 recall? Huh? Can they do that? I smell a fish.
