I am not surprised. The coins are likely already struck. They probably do not want outrage over in god we trust and e pluribus unum missing and then have to further delay the product or it might ruin the product entirely.

Nah... there was not outrage over the silver not including it.

What are you guys talking about?
The silver medal is not required to have the mottos. Only coins have that requirement, unless specific legislation dictates otherwise.
I haven't been following the gold's specific design elements or authorizing legislation, but I don't expect that the mint will "forget" any mandated features.

People were not complaining about silver not having motto and no complaints on gold not having it either. Great representation of the original.

Is this a different version of their normal proof finish? Does not appear to be any cameo or mirror field polish in the video. Is this going to be matte-like proof?
176 more non privy medals graded by PCGS since 11/2/2024......37.7% graded MS69 First Strike.

I have no complaints about the gold not having the motto. I just wonder what legal path the mint used to do this. Does the broad authority for gold and platinum coins allow the mint to omit mottos?
"Now what you've all been waiting for... The 230th Anniversary Flowing Hair Gold Coin with "230" Privy Mark (24YG). The mint initially released the images on November 6th and took them down shortly after. They are 100% confirmed images, but we do not know if these coins will be released as apart of their initial launch of the coin."

I posted a forum article on this just now. Many people saw this in the morning when the mint updated their site. The images are still live on the backend. To clarify: we do not know if they are actually releasing these coins, but the images are 100% real.

If they strike a privy mark in the gold I would imagine it would be limited to 230 of the 17,500 total. If bulk purchasers take 2,500 there will likely be 220 privies in their "special batch"!
inside the process of artistic creation of the designs, the inclusion of the required mottos were said to take away space for the art. medals have no requirement for the mottos.
the gold coin is a coin and has the requirement. it is likely they will be on the edge, even if current pictures don't show them

What about the mottos? The video does not answer that. Honestly I am fine without them, but curious how they could get away with omitting them.
Stunning - maybe you should start a standalone thread, if there isn’t one already.
Tim
What motto do you speak of? The only motto on the original was LIBERTY at the top of the obverse correct?
Appears to be a cgi rendition and not an actual coin.
It should be awesome though, very interested in purchasing the first US Mint flowing hair gold coin.
Hmm, not seeing any shiny fields, thus not a proof.
The mint seems to be pretty confused about what they are doing.
Yes, I've decided to buy the gold coin for ~$3700. Easy choice because I believe we'll see $3k+ spot gold in the near future.
In god we trust and e pluribus unum.
Waiting all year for this! 10 days to go.
Have another link? It’s saying it’s a private video for me

Up for 30 seconds this morning.
I tried finding the FH listing this AM.
The new Website made it very difficult for me to get to that page.
I hope in time I will adjust to the new pathways and roadmaps.
Don't laugh, I got there by putting the word "flowing" into the search box.
Placed 3 in bag and checked out. Processing only 1. Odd
Could they make their website any worse and harder to navigate?
I knew it would happen.
Video is back up

It's all about the motto.

It has a lettered edge.

My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
I was expecting a more curved or bowled surface like some other high reliefs. This video makes it appear perfectly flat.
Sales report late.....They don't want us to know.....
Are they closed for election day?

Video looks like a gold colored silver coin. That makes up my mind for a nearly $4k coin.

It's probably on the lettered edge.
Edited to add: or not.
The original has no motto or IGWT, coin facts says the edge has 100 cents or 1 unit. Keeping with the original I guess.
Some images of 24YG just popped on the Mint's website.

Edited to add "on the Mint's website".
Big rim, unusual non cameo proof finish.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Looks more curved or bowl like than the video depiction

Looks like some images being released with PRIVY mark

Maybe those are the ones they’re going to be auctioning off. Just a thought.
Or maybe all of them. Just a thought.

I can't wait for the 235th and 240th anniversary medals
My thinking exactly. I wondered why they couldn't wait until the 250th anniversary other then profit now.
Flipped this morning and I was able to snag one.
