    I have never like Giambi and he has blown any chance the Yanks had in this game. I hope we lose 28-2 now so he gets LAMBASTED ....... he DOES NOT BELONG in the field ..... EVER

    I knew that losing Phillips for the season was going to burn us. I'm just amazed it didn't happen sooner. Mankiewicz will be playing first now with Giambi back to occasional DH and pinch hitting. It's best that he showed us his true 1st base colors before the playoffs.

    Dice-K and Okajima have looked tired for quite some time. I would like to see each take a couple of weeks off. Tired pitchers get the ball up in the zone, don't they? If that's one of the diagnostics, then they both are tired.

    There's just no bite on their pitches even when they're locating well, and your closer has obviously been fantastic overall but his velocity seems way down from earlier this year.

    Beckett has essentially been our "stopper" this season, not that we really needed one - but a strong game from him today would go a long way towards erasing last night's debacle.

    Man, that sucked.

    Beckett didn't bring his "A" game last time in NY on 8/29 and gave up 4 runs in 6 innings. Ole Josh in on my Fantasy Baseball team but I would take one on the chin for my Fantasy team if Beckett gave up 6 or 7 runs to Wang's 1 run for a chance of the Yankees winning the division and Wang the Cy Young.

    despite the fact that he kind of sucks (not at a JD Blew level, of course), Hinske is now a hero in all of Boston, even though he was out. Great play by Posada to hold onto the ball. I do think the concussion was affecting him when he forgot to tag Ellsbury.

    I told you Beckett would be on today - he completely shut down the Yankees, allowing only 3 hits over 7 innings. Its also worth noting how awful the Yankee bullpen is - who are those guys? Torre kept bringing in one no-name scrub after another. No wonder they get all excited about this Joba kid despite him having pitched less than 20 MLB innings.

    Tomorrow, nothing would be sweeter than to mash Clemens. Let's send him off to retirement with a nice Boston farewell.

    And, hold on to your hat, but I have to say something good about a Yankee play...that play Posada made at the plate against Hinske was fantastic. Hinske just about knocked him out, and he still held the ball and his position. He gets a tip of the cap for that one.

    I would think you would KNOW that it is standard bullpen protocal to bring in the re-treads and recent Sept call-ups in a blow out. Those guys are NOT the Yankee bullpen and I would really hope you would understand that NO TEAM would bring in their go to guys in a game like that this late in the season. SO, in the spirit of getting a jab in on us you could have done a MUCH better job then that weak attempt.

    Onward to tomorrow ....
