Way to go Dice-K!!!! Love those Gopher balls. How much you getting paid per win?

You guys must be happy about JD Drew breaking single digits.

Yeah he is a freaking stud alright. I can't believe Torre left him in so long. If he didn't the Yanks would not have needed extra innings....

Another poor performance by Dice-K against the last place Rays. 5 Runs in 6 Innings.

By the way - Varitek is indeed heating up at the plate. Just when it looked like he couldn't buy a hit, now he's hitting - and coming through in every key situation he's been in.
I also rethought my vote for Red Sox MVP - I thought it was Okajima (and he was incredibly valuable all season long), but Mike Lowell has been fantastic - he's even done a great job filling in for Manny as protection for Ortiz in the lineup. I seriously hope they resign him.
How about that, back to having the best record in the AL and first one to clinch a playoff spot. Come on Sox fans, were you really worried? With our history, why would you be worried?
<<Congrats to the Red Sox - playoff berth clinched tonight!>>
Congrats to the Red Sox indeed. The Red Sox are the 1st team in 2007 to clinch a playoff berth. They will also be the 1st team in MLB history to be the 1st team to clinch a playoff berth and the last team to clinch the Wild Card!!!!

to win the WS, this team will need plenty of help from Francona. He will make (or fail to make) decisions over the course of this week that will decide the team's fate. If he goes all out for the division title, I think a first round playoff exit is likely.

I MIGHT, I repeat MIGHT stop hating JD Drew IF, I repeat IF, he kicks a$$ in the playoffs and seriously helps us bring home another World Series title.
If the Yanks go 0-5 and the Tigers go 4-0 the rest of the way then will tie the Yanks for the wild card. Anybody with a heads up on tie breakers just to humor Jerry?

I was discussing this yesterday...the Yankees and Red Sox are both better off having the Sox win the AL East and the NYY winning the wild card. Sets both up better for the playoffs, given troubles each has had with the other opponents. Torre is smarter than Francona, think about that.

WOW after playing almost 700 ball and 200 million payroll you need to lose every game and STILL win the wild card...talk about spin! You guys crack me up! Ok Ok no you guys came from celler dwellers to win the wild card....that shoud lgo in the history books, right AFTER the collapse after a 3-0 lead in 2004

I know, I bet we would have been better off with Clemens.. ( not )
Pretty easy to make fun of our pitchers when you have studs like Kyle Farnsworth on your team.
