Well I moved on to Dt Dew a few hours ago but this Lady just arrived and I thought I would put her up here.
Thanks for @drddm This one really goes well with the 4 lower grade coins I just purchased from D Kahn. Ownership always add a point or two but this coin does hold its' own against P45CAC's that I have. This coin has everything a "Crack Addict" could want in a coin (as well as a "Clash Addict").

On this Red Eye Saturday, I realized I seldom post one of my areas of specialty in this thread - IHC’s (or NDN’s as @oreville likes to say). Here’s a new one:
It’s a EDS of a very tough 3* variety. I believe it’s the finest known. Following is a description of why this coin is special, at least to me. Apologies as the second page is a bit blurry.

As a former Sailor, Go Navy, Beat Army is my normal feeling today, however I have to say the Black Knights have had a hell of a season, and I kind of hope they win out.
However I will not say that to my Brother (or any other Grunts I know), because my superior Flying Squid power will not let me!
That said ... how about an 1824 to commemorate the 2024 game ... and one of our last Saturday's of the year.

Finally found an intact GSA Great Silver Sale posterboard to match my Last of a Legacy posterboard. By intact, I mean that the board comes with an intact brochure pocket.

These boards were distributed to banks, credit unions, and post offices to help boost sales of the GSA's hoard of CC Morgans. I've found and sold some 10-12 Last of a Legacy boards but have encountered only two with the brochure pocket intact. The Great Silver Sale board is much more challenging to find than the Last of a Legacy board. I have seen maybe 4 other Great Silver Sale boards and only a couple have had the brochure pocket intact.

Goodmorning, all! First snow of the year here in Jersey, and it's time to enjoy some coffee and marvel at the prospects of a white Christmas.
Here is a token made by Joseph H. Merriam of Boston 160 years ago for use in a "ladies saloon."
Although it conjures up images of a bunch of women getting drunk and shooting pool, it's probably not what you're expecting. Back in the 1850s and 60s, women would go to places like this to avoid being around men while they enjoyed delicacies like French pastries, oysters, and ice cream sodas. (Not necessarily in that order.)
Benjamin S. Wright was an oysterman who owned this establishment from around 1856 well into the 1870s along with another on 2 Brattle St in Boston near Merriam's shop.

We got a dusting of snow overnight that coated the ground. Just enjoying a cup of Joe while my wife prepares for a day of baking cookies with her girlfriend.
I have been getting these Congo Gorillas at Christmas for my wife now for about 6 years. They didn’t make one for 2024 so I’ll start getting back dates. Here is this years ornament……

Enjoying a Winter Solstice Red Eye this AM. As today’s the last post before Christmas, I thought I would post a rare one from my beloved FE set:
The S-11 is highlighted by the “scoop out” under the “857” in the date. Its naked eye visible but appreciated much more under a glass. This example has a two tone look between obv/rev which I love! It’s also #2 of the six that are graded as uncirculated, behind only a 65. In fact, the S-11 is the second rarest of the 1857 varieties, with only 10 examples graded (the S-5 is the most rare with only 8).

Late to the party today, but I've had a pot of coffee already.
Was gone from the house for 17 days ... rolled in last night with the last trailer load, all good. The old house should close by January 7th, and so it feels like the last page turning on the new life.

You sharing that reminded me of a “page turner” coin - this was the first newp after buying a new house following a years-long, emotionally draining divorce. I had left it all on the field trying to prevent that outcome, but “Liberty” was the operative word when it was all said and done. The luster really makes it pop in hand.

It’s the final Red Eye Saturday of 2024. Today I have an important but fairly obscure FE. It’s the 1858 S-7. Rated a 4* variety, it’s actually more rare than the well-known & popular S-1. The S-7 diagnostics are not only different, but there’s also only a single die state. The S-1 has 3: strong, mid & weak. The pics following show the high points of my S-7:
There’s also faint doubling of the “1” in the date, often missed as it’s fairly indiscernible. Here’s the coin itself:
Currently, only 11 MS examples are counted in the pop. This one’s one of 2 graded 65 & is the plate coin in Rick Snow’s definitive guide.

I copied this photo to add to the ambience. I'm actually sipping a Monster energy drink because all we have in the house is decaf. This is one of the best threads on the boards, though, for relaxing and enjoying coins.
I'm enjoying these two AU Seated Liberty halves with golden toning and luster pushing through olive green-gray and brown toning. I need more AU coins to add more color and luster to my collection.
