    Interesting Indian $5 reverse:
    Double struck, counterfeit or what?
I’ll post obverse when I get home.

    Love that Milled British (1830-1960)
    Well, just Love coins, period.

    Fake.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Looks like the 1933 Indian gold $5 Dan Carr fantasy strike.

    No coins today.

Instead I attended a college hoops game for my Alma Mater and got together with some of my teammates from 47 to 50 years ago. Today the 2024-2025 edition won their game.

After the game us old guys went out for dinner.

In this group of 5 are a businessman, two lawyers, a doctor and a dentist. I think I am the only coin collector in the group.

Next Saturday I should have some newly graded coins back from our host.

Ok Easton and PursuitofLiberty. Get off the crack!

I promise I drank coffee this morning even though I'm showing a (GASP!) Tea Pot along with a relatively new purchase. It has a very interesting Provenance. Purchased from the David Davis collection by Dr. Charles Horning, sold with his set to MJ Sullivan and now it is MINE!

Tried to post yesterday but better late than never?

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

@BustDMs - finally got a tea pot and coin that I like - Well done! When can you get me an upgrade to my 1822?

Happy “Red Eye” Saturday everyone! A week ago I was still roaming the bourse @ FUN. I picked up the coin below as my final buy of what for me was a great show. Certainly my best FUN ever!
I’ve always wanted one of these; call it a dream come true:

Most all collectors know the 1796 Draped Bust 25C is a one year type. Quarters weren’t minted again until 1804 (& with a different design). It’s a die state 1 with perfect dies. Also a B2 type; R3 rarity. It’s moderately worn (with very even wear). Denticles are complete & central devices are well defined. The coin has deep iridescent gunmetal hues in the recesses, with lighter shades of gray over the relief elements. There are no adjustment marks. With its “circulated cameo” appearance, this piece has exceptional eye appeal. So yes, buying this one is a dream come true!

What an awesome pick up! That is a coin that I hope to own someday and yours is perfect! It would match my 1806 beautifully…
This will be my contribution to this thread…

Love the 1796 quarter! So original!

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. It was my last purchase of 2024, but I just can't seem to get enough of it.

Love the design and quality of surfaces!
