@Inspired70 oh, that 1857 is soooo gemmy. Akers name is associated to some of the all-time best coins. Here's my 1913 proof half....She has some color.
Final Red Eye Saturday before the big show (& the first of the New Year). Looking forward to FUN & a good day to post my newest IHC here:
The 1880 S-1 is a very tough 4* variety. I’ve included a description below the pics of this rare die anomaly. This piece is one of 3 graded 65RD with none higher. And, it’s a @winesteven ”special” - double stickered!
Hope everyone has a great Saturday; Steve, I’ll see you at the show!

Eldo: You have some of the most lustrous and colorful barbers in existence. 1913, the year Henry Ford started pushing the Model T down the assembly line. A great year in American History!
In a recent Heritage auction - I won this Capped Bust error - I never knew that a split planchet error ever existed. We usually showcase drop dead gorgeous coins here but this one is down right ugly but hey its a CBD error and those are quite rare. I usually don't disclose how much I paid but it got for less than $200. What can be wrong with that? Good for a coffee & coins Saturday thread

Saturday morning at the Ebb Tide Retreat ... Italian Roast pour-over on the back deck admiring one of the girls from Date Night last night
Todd - please explain yourself here. What is the Ebb Tide Retreat, and what is Date Night?
Does this mean, you're on your back deck, and you went to a local show last night?
If that's your own back deck with that view, I'm totally envious! That looks gorgeous - especially as I'm preparing for the snowmageddon '25 that is on its way.
Great coin, @Copperindian, and special too, in addition to the double stickers.
For the benefit of others, while many collectors may think that having both a CAC sticker and Rick Snow's Eagle Eye Photo Seal is redundant, it's not. Since JA and Rick each weigh the various stickering factors differently, the are many CAC FE's and IHC's that Rick won't sticker, as well as many Photo Sealed Flying Eagles and Indian head Cents that JA won't sticker. I say, having both of those stickers on a coin is having the best of both worlds! By the way, they both have tremendous respect for each other. Rick's Photo Seal is one of the only stickers that CAC will NOT remove when they apply their own sticker!
Ken, looking forward to dinner. I have a nice Napa Valley cab for us, only 457 cases made, and each of the top three wine reviewers tried it - scores were 98 points, 97 points, and 96 points - all three loved it! Hopefully we will too.

A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!
@Copperindian said: @winesteven: 100% correct with your above assessment. Dinner will be fun; could it be a Screaming Eagle you’re bringing?
Ken - While I like you, I don't like you THAT much, lol. You may or may not know, but I've been on their mailing list for over 20 years, so they allow me to buy three bottles each year! I understand their "Waiting List to get on their Mailing list" is currently around 15 years or so, lol.

Sorry I'm late to the party today. God I love this thread and so glad it's still here this New Year. For everyone who participates in it, I think you'll agree ... it's the one "can't miss thread" every week. Happy first Saturday of 2025!
.
Anyway, coffee was hours ago, and I'm late here because I drove up to Maple Valley yesterday so I could be Super Grandpa ... and the kids could get a Date Night. I just got home about an hour ago.
And then, what do I see here, that crazy guy @Bikergeek is asking me questions regarding a two month old post where I referenced a Date Night!
So, to answer his questions ... yes, that is the back deck ... and I've affectionately named the house the Ebb Tide Retreat. There is minor musical reference in there that at least @TomB might probably pick up on, but I do live in a beach town now, after all.
The Date Night I referred to in that post was having a bunch of the girls from the Dirty Badass Bohemian Chicks over that evening. We took some pictures, had a few drinks, got a little twisted and all slept together.
.
Okay, enough of that ... here's one of the girls from that Super Group

Great coins in this thread, I enjoy following along.
Just ordered a new camera. No new coins for quite a while.
Might have to change that.

Working on some latte art this morning, gents. Little time for coins! (I know ive got a long way to go.)

Purchased an espresso machine for the wife's birthday, and it is worth its weight in rare civil war tokens.

Agree about the "can't miss thread" and depending on the quality the Dirty badass Bohemian chicks as well.
