Interesting tier subber poppage figures shown also . No sympathy on tier sub return levels-part of being a tier subber with lower fees is an expectation that we are required to deal with "longer wait times at a lower price"- a part of the contract pricing verbiage many seem to have overlooked in their haste to get those lower fees. Oh well= life on life's terms. It's always been an issue ( waiting) even when business was "slower". People would complain about 40 day waits on 25 day "approximate" subs, or an 11 business day wait on a 5 day "approximate" I used to average 35-37 days on those 25 day subs , and was happy as all get out to have them back that quick, as they were 'consistent" on the speed and accuracy. And the price was completely acceptable unlike this current nonsense. I've never been dumb enough to overpay for 'speed" sake no matter how hot some fool was. If they are worth a crap "investing" in they are worth short and long term patience.
Club members put up with more and pay more money. Personally I'm trying not to let that wait negativity affect my outlooks. I may have missed some open windows, but that doesn't mean those doors are closed. Just means I'll need to pounce on that next opportunity when it arises. Just like everyone else I'd have loved to have snagged tons of the free Covid funds- just had other things going on and couldn't fully take advantage . Either I couldn't get the orders entered fast enough or the cards back quick enough. Life on life's terms once again.
Anyways to the subject at hand- that sub I showed above and the 2 others from 9/09 both spent 1 day in QA1 and now are in QA2. Guess I'll be spending more time than usual when they return viewing the labels and cards for damages.

what are the new turn around times looking like for an express $200 service level single card order? CTD shows they are at 100% completion. need a card for a quick turn around, but want sure what the new express times looked like these days.

I got the Hakeem for my son at Tri Star in Houston a few years back on an 85 Star Card I had, same as the Singletary on his rookie card, The Roaf I got in person after his rookie year (we went to La Tech together, he was a SR when I was a Freshman), The Doran and Mike Scott I picked up ttm as an Astros fan in the late 80s, Hebert was also in person at their training camp, as was Jim Wilks. The rest came through collections I bought, and thought they would look good slabbed. I'll post pics in the main forum when they get in.

so. do you still feel the pokemon sub guy was taking advantage of the griffey subber? its more than obvious that the guy in the vid knew basically nothing about sports cards and that he only threw them in to help his buddy, not to profit off of him. the video even says $300 level which is what psa charges. not $325 or $350. theres also no minimum quantity needed for express. so its not like he needed his griffeys to fill out a sub. this is not a lemming. this is a piggyback. a terrible one, yes. but like i said earlier, his friend asked him to throw in these cards w his pokemon sub and he obliged. zero unethical things going on here. dumb? absolutely. but certainly not unethical.
getting back to the rest of the op, this is exactly why the backlog is what it is. people sending in griffey 4s and 6s even way back when at the bulk - regular levels. but yes. a total waste of $1800. 😂

All of the AB&C were weeded out of a lot of about 150 of them, three time dwindled down. And scoring on the #1 #2 as 7's is Awesome! All of the Uncle Sam are exactly where they should have been, at VG-EX 4 very rare cards and especially hardly found better than EX 5, but oh well.
The Niekro is another of my Random Test cards I put into every order to show the ludicrousness of Grading. I now have about 20-30 cards that have been submitted multiple times. This was once a 5, twice, 7's, 3 times EOT, and now an 8 where it stays! I had guessed at 3 8's, 8 7's and the rest 6's on the Civil War News, which was right where I regraded. them!
Due to the Grades of my last Sub with the 1959 3 Stooges and this one, that most are PSA's grading on vintage is almost exactly where my Pregrading was!
Thats 's a bummer they aren't grading packs at the show. My dream would be to be able to drop off packs at PSA, have them immediately shuttled over to Steve Hart for authentication and then back to the PSA booth for holdering all in one day and with no risk of damage in the mail!

This guy claims to have no knowledge of sports cards (and he talks like that is true). That 90D DK is not a super, mechanical error.. What this guys says is just so wrong in every account. Ufff I need a cold shower after that massacre.

I have 3 Value Modern subs with entry dates of 12/28 and 1/12 moving from grading to Assembly and a 3 card Regular that popped with entry date of 5/10. Got killed on it, but previous regular sub of a simlar age/players of 6 cards was within expectations with maybe a gift 9 on a 88 Jordan, so....we will see. I have about 70 1986 fleer basketball out of the 105 in those 3 VM subs....verrry pins and needly around here....also have my first SGC sub of 27 in grading and about 40 at HGA w 5 back from them so far. Going to be an exciting summer...
Express sub for my son-in-law: 2 Pokemon cards from his childhood (1999 Blastoise 1st edition holo & 1997 Japanese Rocket Dark Charizard-Holo). Both look to be in pretty good shape, so we'll see...
Like the other July Express subs recently posted in this thread, this one had one-day loggage, so that's promising.

Hard to believed a March 31 "entered" still isn't done- that one would have me on the phone. No reason for that they should be nearly done with March 'entered" they were 75% nearly on June 7th for lords sake ==how many could they have gotten those last few weeks ? Not worried most of my Regulars all have late April early May "entered" dates should all pop in August as planned.
They use "batch" FIFO - not regular FIFO . Think the JUNE BLOG explained it nicely. Some of these orders though =not sure why they get held up.

I see your side and understand it. See below for my side.
Someone with a moral compass that guides basic right and wrong common sense actions would not have done it. He may not have done it deliberately on purpose to his friend- but his actions make me question his own moral compass and thought process .
Maybe its a generational thing. I have operated my entire life with a code of personal conduct in place that places common sense above all else , and tells me when I'm clueless about something, I should then start asking a whole bunch of professional and personal opinions before I take action on anything. Doesn't sound like even the most basic attempts at that occurred in this case. Yeah- personal and professional code of conduct (its called " ethics " ) issue with Pokemon card guy .
Now- if they'd have done their homework- told their friend " Hey bro doesn't seem like a good idea maybe you should wait for lower prices" and the friend told him "send them anyways" - then fine he'd do it with their blessing. But blindly doing things- lemmings. Others can call it what they want.......I hold myself to a stricter standard of conduct. I need to sleep at night knowing I did everything I could to help my friend out, and nothing I did hurt him in any way ,financial or otherwise.
some good news. without going into details, set collectors need not fret about getting priced out. it is gonna be a while and well after the backlog is taken care of and the initial reopening wave is confirmed under control, but there will be a modest discount for pre-80ish cards. a heftier premium and rightfully so will be placed on modern/ultra modern. specials will definitely be done for intermediary years after 80. supposedly a lot of other things in the works as well.
now if we can just get some consistency and/or a new rule book to grading guidelines.

regular sub entered 5/11 goes into assembly before the regular order equal in size that was entered 4/8...because of course it would. Why finish the april order when you can finish a may order...duh
and zero personal data to back this up, but if i had to guess they are now processing modern and jordan subs. they trained all the guys w a good heap of ultra. now getting them familiar w modern and 90s stuff.

Good theory, I had a Jan 25 Value Modern go to grading a couple weeks ago, but its Ultra Mod brother logged on the same day still in Research...

Here is something different, I sent in a few on the PSA / DNA special. I was checking somehting else and I saw that they popped. The ones that came back as Questionable are all head scratchers to me, but oh well.

No one is obliged to help anyone be financially foolish. This is called "lemming theory" and anyone deliberately helping someone else do it -- well that person has an ethics problem. We don't need to add to that ethics issues list this hobby is full of them currently. I'd have been obliged personally to inform that someone I wanted no part in their $300 submission, and would have tried convincing them why the lower level amounts made more financial sense. If they decided against my advice= well they'd have been pointed elsewhere. I try not to allow myself to be a conduit of financial ignorance- if I can help it.
Interesting tier subber poppage figures shown also . No sympathy on tier sub return levels-part of being a tier subber with lower fees is an expectation that we are required to deal with "longer wait times at a lower price"- a part of the contract pricing verbiage many seem to have overlooked in their haste to get those lower fees. Oh well= life on life's terms. It's always been an issue ( waiting) even when business was "slower". People would complain about 40 day waits on 25 day "approximate" subs, or an 11 business day wait on a 5 day "approximate"
I used to average 35-37 days on those 25 day subs , and was happy as all get out to have them back that quick, as they were 'consistent" on the speed and accuracy. And the price was completely acceptable unlike this current nonsense. I've never been dumb enough to overpay for 'speed" sake no matter how hot some fool was. If they are worth a crap "investing" in they are worth short and long term patience.
Club members put up with more and pay more money. Personally I'm trying not to let that wait negativity affect my outlooks. I may have missed some open windows, but that doesn't mean those doors are closed. Just means I'll need to pounce on that next opportunity when it arises. Just like everyone else I'd have loved to have snagged tons of the free Covid funds- just had other things going on and couldn't fully take advantage . Either I couldn't get the orders entered fast enough or the cards back quick enough. Life on life's terms once again.
Anyways to the subject at hand- that sub I showed above and the 2 others from 9/09 both spent 1 day in QA1 and now are in QA2. Guess I'll be spending more time than usual when they return viewing the labels and cards for damages.

I got the Hakeem for my son at Tri Star in Houston a few years back on an 85 Star Card I had, same as the Singletary on his rookie card, The Roaf I got in person after his rookie year (we went to La Tech together, he was a SR when I was a Freshman), The Doran and Mike Scott I picked up ttm as an Astros fan in the late 80s, Hebert was also in person at their training camp, as was Jim Wilks. The rest came through collections I bought, and thought they would look good slabbed. I'll post pics in the main forum when they get in.
A $300 sub of a 1990 Donruss DK Griffey that graded a 4? Money well spent.
so. do you still feel the pokemon sub guy was taking advantage of the griffey subber? its more than obvious that the guy in the vid knew basically nothing about sports cards and that he only threw them in to help his buddy, not to profit off of him. the video even says $300 level which is what psa charges. not $325 or $350. theres also no minimum quantity needed for express. so its not like he needed his griffeys to fill out a sub. this is not a lemming. this is a piggyback. a terrible one, yes. but like i said earlier, his friend asked him to throw in these cards w his pokemon sub and he obliged. zero unethical things going on here. dumb? absolutely. but certainly not unethical.
getting back to the rest of the op, this is exactly why the backlog is what it is. people sending in griffey 4s and 6s even way back when at the bulk - regular levels. but yes. a total waste of $1800. 😂

All of the AB&C were weeded out of a lot of about 150 of them, three time dwindled down. And scoring on the #1 #2 as 7's is Awesome! All of the Uncle Sam are exactly where they should have been, at VG-EX 4 very rare cards and especially hardly found better than EX 5, but oh well.
The Niekro is another of my Random Test cards I put into every order to show the ludicrousness of Grading. I now have about 20-30 cards that have been submitted multiple times. This was once a 5, twice, 7's, 3 times EOT, and now an 8 where it stays! I had guessed at 3 8's, 8 7's and the rest 6's on the Civil War News, which was right where I regraded. them!
Due to the Grades of my last Sub with the 1959 3 Stooges and this one, that most are PSA's grading on vintage is almost exactly where my Pregrading was!

Thats 's a bummer they aren't grading packs at the show. My dream would be to be able to drop off packs at PSA, have them immediately shuttled over to Steve Hart for authentication and then back to the PSA booth for holdering all in one day and with no risk of damage in the mail!

That’s exactly what I hoped it would grade. I knew it wouldn’t get a 10, but it’s a beautiful auto signed in 1956. Really happy with this, as long as the encapsulation looks nice.

This is crazy! $300 for these Griffey cards and the “Friend” was blindly sending in these apparently with no knowledge of how to grade or what makes sense to grade. This guy claims to have no knowledge of sports cards (and he talks like that is true). That 90D DK is not a super, mechanical error.. What this guys says is just so wrong in every account. Ufff I need a cold shower after that massacre.

I have 3 Value Modern subs with entry dates of 12/28 and 1/12 moving from grading to Assembly and a 3 card Regular that popped with entry date of 5/10. Got killed on it, but previous regular sub of a simlar age/players of 6 cards was within expectations with maybe a gift 9 on a 88 Jordan, so....we will see. I have about 70 1986 fleer basketball out of the 105 in those 3 VM subs....verrry pins and needly around here....also have my first SGC sub of 27 in grading and about 40 at HGA w 5 back from them so far. Going to be an exciting summer...
Also, I am holding out hope that Value Ultra Modern next month sees the movement of Value Modern, but I suspect its more like 2-3 months.

Yeah, so far the 2 Ultra's I have that were in there logged date between the dates of my 3 Modern subs are all still in R/ID -3, so I'm calling BS on that FIFO lip service too until proven otherwise

Hard to believed a March 31 "entered" still isn't done- that one would have me on the phone. No reason for that they should be nearly done with March 'entered" they were 75% nearly on June 7th for lords sake ==how many could they have gotten those last few weeks ? Not worried most of my Regulars all have late April early May "entered" dates should all pop in August as planned.
They use "batch" FIFO - not regular FIFO . Think the JUNE BLOG explained it nicely. Some of these orders though =not sure why they get held up.

Someone with a moral compass that guides basic right and wrong common sense actions would not have done it. He may not have done it deliberately on purpose to his friend- but his actions make me question his own moral compass and thought process .
Maybe its a generational thing. I have operated my entire life with a code of personal conduct in place that places common sense above all else , and tells me when I'm clueless about something, I should then start asking a whole bunch of professional and personal opinions before I take action on anything. Doesn't sound like even the most basic attempts at that occurred in this case. Yeah- personal and professional code of conduct (its called " ethics " ) issue with Pokemon card guy .
Now- if they'd have done their homework- told their friend " Hey bro doesn't seem like a good idea maybe you should wait for lower prices" and the friend told him "send them anyways" - then fine he'd do it with their blessing. But blindly doing things- lemmings. Others can call it what they want.......I hold myself to a stricter standard of conduct. I need to sleep at night knowing I did everything I could to help my friend out, and nothing I did hurt him in any way ,financial or otherwise.
