Spend months in grading. Breeze right through assembly and QA 1 in a weekend. Land in QA2 getting my hopes up for grades soon. Get a call from PSA that they lost one of your cards. Negotiate with them to reimburse you for the estimated value and grading fee but to finish up the 147 card order ASAP. Sit for 3 more days waiting for your grades to pop while hitting refresh on your screen 10 times a day.
I'm assuming at this point some manager over ruled the customer support person I spoke with, and has a 16 year old new hire wandering around PSA's facility looking through 10 million cards trying to find my 1979 topps Mark Fidrych. Before you all laugh, let me say I work for a Fortune 100 company and I've seen similar stupidity many times. Some manager gets dead set on "getting something right" and spends hundreds of man hours to fix a 100 dollar problem. Looking forward to seeing my cards around Christmas....

so had some grades pop from an express order, $75 per card when I sent em in.
really thought I had a few 10's here. But figured I would wait until I got the back to see. Felt real good about LT, something happened to LT from the time I mailed it to the time it got in a holder. Not sure how this "dent" happened but I know 1. I wouldn't miss it and 2. would not have graded this card at $75 a pop.

Totally feel your pain bro. Same boat here. I’ve got an LT rc in the order that’s in QA2 and should pop any moment. Pulled it from rack pack myself and it was really nice. Rice rookie too that was the same. I’m bracing myself now to see nothing but 7s.

yeah, put me in club oops I dropped it too. I can't wait to see which corner got cranked on when I get this griffey 6 tomorrow because I certainly wouldn't drop 150 to get it graded as that and clearly I have a pretty good idea of what a 10 looks like considering there were only 2 on the order

while I’ve had some holder dings peppered throughout various subs, 99% of the cards in this particular sub the grader apparently handled right after free pizza & wings day. not sure they would wipe them down if cracked out. not sure I would even want them to anyways. im sure there is some recourse. honestly, im scared to what I would let fly if someone mishandled my attempt or tell me that it was on me. kinda reminiscent of them saying the cards have been getting lower grades bc the best raw has been cherrypicked. i do have a few direct contacts but not worth using lifelines for some tyler herro cards.

I just hit 3 months in the grading phase on my vintage value. I’m surprised those of us who’ve purchased PSA memberships are the subs that are on the bottom of the CTD. 🤷♂️

Your LT is looking slightly diamond cut... have you looked closely at that part of it?

If/When they find it they said they will send it to me but I'd be charged for the grading fee at that point. She wasn't clear if I'd also be charged the amount they are refunding me (the estimated value of the card). My assumption is they will try to charge me for that too. I was very clear with her that I didn't want this to extend my wait time on receiving the other 147 cards in my order but apparently it doesn't matter how clear you are, they are going to do what they are going to do regardless. Even if they find it and send it to me and let me keep the estimated value of the card ($10 bucks) I'm still convinced that having them misplace one of your cards with NEVER benefit the customer.

I don’t want to seem like a basher. So I want to add an update that PSA contacted me back just now after I left a vm with them last night. She didn’t know what has caused the hiccup in finishing my order, but She assured me that it will be finished in the next day or two and not be put on a shelf while they look for my lost card. I was glad to get that communication and she made me feel confident that I was being heard as the customer wanting to get the rest of my order back. Im not happy about the lost card but when you have millions on site I understand that it happens at times. As long as it doesn’t impact the rest of my order getting completed I’m fine with how they are handling it.

Grades were almost as expected, thought the 8 perhaps deserved a 9 (micro edge chip, being within a mm of a front corner probably didn't help):
A couple years ago I started buying up tons of 80's and early 90's sealed sets and unopened boxes. I have probably sent in 5 orders of 100 or more cards. Please keep in mind I am a 80's-90's kid and this is where my heart is so these aren't million dollar cards. I am pleasantly surprised and happy with the grades, most of the 8's I knew where 8's because of centering. Paper is tough and 80's paper is even tougher not to mention all the talk about PSA tightening the reins on grades.

Looks to me like a really decent to good 80s bulk sub with almost an expected amount of 10/9/8 distribution. I keep hoping to see a few more 10s on these sub recaps, but in general it feels like the tight grading might be trending in a positive direction for us. I say that having exactly zero data to back it up.
Grades popped. Overall satisfied with the results. Some odd stuff but my eyes aren't perfect. I thought my RIce rc had a shot at a 9 but was a solid 8 and it came back a 6 ??? I thought my Payton rc was a 6 but it landed in a 7. They seemed to like my 78's a heck of a lot more than my 76's from last sub, and they blasted my 86 topps football, which is what I thought had the best shot at high dollar 9's or 10's. I'm not going to lie I had lowered my expectations and the football cards I sent lined up with what I was worried about, but my baseball were in line with what "I thought they should be".

w the pics supplied, id say the magic is definitely a gift. oc and that top left corner looks brutal. think youre going w the kobe for bonk bc of a 5. i would prolly go w the jordan as a 9. that thing looks pretty good from the front.
The Magic is a gift and I will say that the Jordan is somewhat of a gift too. The l to r centering and the chipping on the right edge would usually deem it an 8. Unfortunate on the Kobe as it must have a surface issue and thus the 5.

Both of these are the First/Highest Graded for their number and I was holding out hope that the Super would 8, I think it could have gone 7!! YeeHaw! There are only 1 or 2 examples graded of each card of this 48 card set. I have a Sub with 20+ of these due in a couple months and most of those will be 2-4's, so these will be the 2 card highlites of the set so far!
The Stooges I had down as about 8 of them as EX-MT 6's and thought a couple might go a grade lower/One higher. So this was a Win!

The 88 Jordan could be seen as a gift. But that damn 2 they gave my Bench rookie can balance on that, for my own sanity.
The Kobe I don't see a factory indent...is there a spot this usually shows up? I have 3 more in there...and a BGS9.5 I was using as a visual guide. The one pictured has a bottom right corner uplift...really hard to see. Maybe from screw down it could have been in in past?
That Magic though, I have another 7, looks about the same...
The grades on the Jordan’s make me think there will be an up charge in my future. At least I hope so. I sent in 3 from the 88 set that are centered. One has a tiny print dot on it but is otherwise beautiful. Not expecting those back this year though.

The people working in assembly and putting the cards into the holders HAVE GOT to be more careful -- good grief...it's like they think these pieces of cardboard are only worth a couple dollars...
I'm really having a hard time understanding how regular orders are taking 3 months+ when during that same timespan there haven't been any coming in....what am I paying a hundo per card for if there's seemingly no urgency in terms of putting those ahead of others. I'm assuming they're just gonna put express out there next month with a 200 per tag on it er something to make sure it affects their flow virtually none at all because they obviously just cannot be ready for any influx at this point

right? glad someone else pointed this out. i have a regular that arrived 2/24, entered 3/31. several more entered 4/1 - 4/14. all been stuck in grading for months.
salt in the wound is absolutely zero movement on any of my bulk orders with only 4 actually reaching the grading stage outta roughly 84 various subs.

pick your poison:
option 1. stuck in grading for 2+ months. then take another 2+ months to finish.
or
option 2. stuck in grading for 4+ months and breezes thru the rest in 10ish days.
I will take option 2 over option 1 any day.
I've got a new option for ya. Not sure you've dealt with this one yet, lol.
option 3...
Spend months in grading. Breeze right through assembly and QA 1 in a weekend. Land in QA2 getting my hopes up for grades soon. Get a call from PSA that they lost one of your cards. Negotiate with them to reimburse you for the estimated value and grading fee but to finish up the 147 card order ASAP. Sit for 3 more days waiting for your grades to pop while hitting refresh on your screen 10 times a day.
I'm assuming at this point some manager over ruled the customer support person I spoke with, and has a 16 year old new hire wandering around PSA's facility looking through 10 million cards trying to find my 1979 topps Mark Fidrych. Before you all laugh, let me say I work for a Fortune 100 company and I've seen similar stupidity many times. Some manager gets dead set on "getting something right" and spends hundreds of man hours to fix a 100 dollar problem. Looking forward to seeing my cards around Christmas....

Totally feel your pain bro. Same boat here. I’ve got an LT rc in the order that’s in QA2 and should pop any moment. Pulled it from rack pack myself and it was really nice. Rice rookie too that was the same. I’m bracing myself now to see nothing but 7s.

yeah, put me in club oops I dropped it too. I can't wait to see which corner got cranked on when I get this griffey 6 tomorrow because I certainly wouldn't drop 150 to get it graded as that and clearly I have a pretty good idea of what a 10 looks like considering there were only 2 on the order

I have always done better in bulk subs than when I paid way higher prices. Can't justify the costs.
while I’ve had some holder dings peppered throughout various subs, 99% of the cards in this particular sub the grader apparently handled right after free pizza & wings day. not sure they would wipe them down if cracked out. not sure I would even want them to anyways. im sure there is some recourse. honestly, im scared to what I would let fly if someone mishandled my attempt or tell me that it was on me. kinda reminiscent of them saying the cards have been getting lower grades bc the best raw has been cherrypicked. i do have a few direct contacts but not worth using lifelines for some tyler herro cards.

It’s an economy order. shipped 12/22/20 and arrived at psa on 12/27/20.

Question, so if psa lost a card and they paid to make that right..... What happens when they find it? Send it to you or grade it for themselves?

I just hit 3 months in the grading phase on my vintage value. I’m surprised those of us who’ve purchased PSA memberships are the subs that are on the bottom of the CTD. 🤷♂️
Your LT is looking slightly diamond cut... have you looked closely at that part of it?
If/When they find it they said they will send it to me but I'd be charged for the grading fee at that point. She wasn't clear if I'd also be charged the amount they are refunding me (the estimated value of the card). My assumption is they will try to charge me for that too. I was very clear with her that I didn't want this to extend my wait time on receiving the other 147 cards in my order but apparently it doesn't matter how clear you are, they are going to do what they are going to do regardless. Even if they find it and send it to me and let me keep the estimated value of the card ($10 bucks) I'm still convinced that having them misplace one of your cards with NEVER benefit the customer.

I don’t want to seem like a basher. So I want to add an update that PSA contacted me back just now after I left a vm with them last night. She didn’t know what has caused the hiccup in finishing my order, but She assured me that it will be finished in the next day or two and not be put on a shelf while they look for my lost card. I was glad to get that communication and she made me feel confident that I was being heard as the customer wanting to get the rest of my order back. Im not happy about the lost card but when you have millions on site I understand that it happens at times. As long as it doesn’t impact the rest of my order getting completed I’m fine with how they are handling it.

A couple years ago I started buying up tons of 80's and early 90's sealed sets and unopened boxes. I have probably sent in 5 orders of 100 or more cards. Please keep in mind I am a 80's-90's kid and this is where my heart is so these aren't million dollar cards. I am pleasantly surprised and happy with the grades, most of the 8's I knew where 8's because of centering. Paper is tough and 80's paper is even tougher not to mention all the talk about PSA tightening the reins on grades.

My kind of sub! Good job!
Looks to me like a really decent to good 80s bulk sub with almost an expected amount of 10/9/8 distribution. I keep hoping to see a few more 10s on these sub recaps, but in general it feels like the tight grading might be trending in a positive direction for us. I say that having exactly zero data to back it up.
Grades popped. Overall satisfied with the results. Some odd stuff but my eyes aren't perfect. I thought my RIce rc had a shot at a 9 but was a solid 8 and it came back a 6 ??? I thought my Payton rc was a 6 but it landed in a 7. They seemed to like my 78's a heck of a lot more than my 76's from last sub, and they blasted my 86 topps football, which is what I thought had the best shot at high dollar 9's or 10's. I'm not going to lie I had lowered my expectations and the football cards I sent lined up with what I was worried about, but my baseball were in line with what "I thought they should be".

w the pics supplied, id say the magic is definitely a gift. oc and that top left corner looks brutal. think youre going w the kobe for bonk bc of a 5. i would prolly go w the jordan as a 9. that thing looks pretty good from the front.
Did you check for factory made indentations on the 96 Collectors Choice Kobe?
The Magic is a gift and I will say that the Jordan is somewhat of a gift too. The l to r centering and the chipping on the right edge would usually deem it an 8. Unfortunate on the Kobe as it must have a surface issue and thus the 5.

Both of these are the First/Highest Graded for their number and I was holding out hope that the Super would 8, I think it could have gone 7!! YeeHaw! There are only 1 or 2 examples graded of each card of this 48 card set. I have a Sub with 20+ of these due in a couple months and most of those will be 2-4's, so these will be the 2 card highlites of the set so far!
The Stooges I had down as about 8 of them as EX-MT 6's and thought a couple might go a grade lower/One higher. So this was a Win!

The 88 Jordan could be seen as a gift. But that damn 2 they gave my Bench rookie can balance on that, for my own sanity.
The Kobe I don't see a factory indent...is there a spot this usually shows up? I have 3 more in there...and a BGS9.5 I was using as a visual guide. The one pictured has a bottom right corner uplift...really hard to see. Maybe from screw down it could have been in in past?
That Magic though, I have another 7, looks about the same...
The grades on the Jordan’s make me think there will be an up charge in my future. At least I hope so. I sent in 3 from the 88 set that are centered. One has a tiny print dot on it but is otherwise beautiful. Not expecting those back this year though.
The people working in assembly and putting the cards into the holders HAVE GOT to be more careful -- good grief...it's like they think these pieces of cardboard are only worth a couple dollars...

It has been in grading quite a long time.
I check the listed completion dates but am not sure which one the Grade Add On is. I know it was not a special.
I'm really having a hard time understanding how regular orders are taking 3 months+ when during that same timespan there haven't been any coming in....what am I paying a hundo per card for if there's seemingly no urgency in terms of putting those ahead of others. I'm assuming they're just gonna put express out there next month with a 200 per tag on it er something to make sure it affects their flow virtually none at all because they obviously just cannot be ready for any influx at this point
right? glad someone else pointed this out. i have a regular that arrived 2/24, entered 3/31. several more entered 4/1 - 4/14. all been stuck in grading for months.
salt in the wound is absolutely zero movement on any of my bulk orders with only 4 actually reaching the grading stage outta roughly 84 various subs.
