The 1860 proof set is fabulous. 1860 is not an easy year for finding attractive proofs, either. Mintages were very low, and many surviving coins are dipped or unattractive.

Thanks Rhedden! Yeah, those coins are really special, and very original. The flash of the mirrors is one thing the photos can't convey, but they really have exceptional flash, which oftentimes is lacking in these era of proofs. Most were melted, and/or found their way into circulation back then.....Best, Eldo

Some well matched 1860 Proofs: Love the originality of these pieces.
Eldorado, the 1861 MS64 Proof Cent occupies the PCGS #13595264 slot. Interesting you have a run of #13595260 to #13595265 that are 1860 coins yet the #13595264 proof cent is dated 1861. Any additional info?
Awesome, awesome set by the way. So cool!

Hey thanks Sedulous! No idea on the number sequences that you pointed out....The coins are awesome though, and look just as good/better in person. Nice flash. Best, Eldo.
i got this at the INA (Iowa) earlier this month. First decent sized coin show in the state since March. Over 40 dealers and at least 5 from Minnesota (no taxes in Iowa), It was a 2 day show with over 600 attendees on Saturday. Masks were required but not really enforced and hand sanitizer was everywhere,

Very nice picture @Eldorado9 . Although the space is surrendered to the black background, providing proportional sized photos for the denominations is a nice, different look than a stack of same-size photos.
This late-date business strike quarter has continually eluded my grasp as I built my set over the past 13 years. I have been trying to assemble the 1879-1891 run in MS63-MS65, and although I have been selecting coins with little to no toning, I could not find an 1881 that fit the bill. This PCGS MS65 example (from Northern Nevada) is a nice coin, even though the toning is darker than the rest of coins in the run. The only P-mint in that date range that I find tougher is 1886, with the 1885 and 1881 being tied for second in my book.

Nice coin.
The rotation and the repunched 1 9 below the date are the classic markers for the V-3A die variety (#13 in the Top 100).

What I haven't seen before is an apparent horizontal die crack through star 13, or maybe it is a lamination error.
