One look at the reverse and even with some fine scratches, I couldn't pass this common date raw coin up on eBay. I'd grade it at VF30 but don't really care much what grade it is when it has the 'look'.
I just discovered I can go find and copy my abandoned photos on Photobucket on to my computer using the snipping tool.
Here's a coin I won off eBay for a low price from a dealer in the Philippines with poor photos and they didn't accept returns. No wonder, it took about a month to get to me. The gamble paid off, though. I grade it VF20 but wonder if it might get bumped to VF25 when I submit it for grading. Any opinions on the grade?
One more, just won at Great Collections so I'm borrowing their pix...Probably will end up in my raw album. (NGC-30)
How many VFs will full split stars? Also has a pretty cool reverse die crack. Now, if I could only shrink that date a little....

LOL on the Date size! That coin was hammered before it entered circulation. For a mid VF that is almost perfect. I don't deal in absolutes or I might say it was perfect.

Excellent look to that raw 77-S.
Your SLH's blow my mind, particularly the 1860-O (!!).
Edited because I just posted my 77-CC from ARCO. I haven't posted my avatar 1851 in a while...

^^ That CC seems very small. Is that a variety?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
PC 30, OGH. A couple of tiny planchet voids on Liberty's chest, and a few marks from circulation. Nice color though.

@JBN that's an excellent example of a very rare Open 3.

^^ Nice photo of the 1854 V-1, with the date overlapping the base.
I put this in the new purchase thread, but I’m pumped about it and it fits here, too, right?
