Estimates are only some 10,000 of these were minted due to the resources & time spent to Morgan dollar production. It is thought only 1200-1500 of these survive today; very few are in the condition of this one. It actually appears to be freshly minted!

Occasionally you can get a nice Seated at your LCS. Raw in this case and I am a sucker for O-mint. I can forgive the slight rim bump or two.

I almost purchased this one at the recent Houston show, but just couldn’t get over the messy fields.
@Barberian Suppose if I wanted clean fields I would need to pay up for a 67 and PR65 was already a stretch.
How does it look outside of the plastic sheath? I presume you took that picture at the show, at the dealer table, with your cellphone... messy from scratching? impaired in any way? I am wondering about your definition of the term 'messy'.

Correct at a table with a cell phone but it looks the same in person. I didn't remove it but I did move it around and could tell that the lines/scratches were on the coin in the fields and not on the cellophane.
I just used messy because I would expect a proof coin to have very clean fields.
I did see another one that was very clean but I didn't bother with a pic cause it was 11K.
Sidenote: What really stands out in my mind was a $10 Indian in what looked like MS68 just incredible I think the dealer said 14K before I handed back to him but after looking at price guides he might of said 140K.
I picked this up earlier today at my LCS. I often enjoy “dirty originality” and I love Civil War dates. Frankly though, I bought this coin because of the rotated dies.
Also just as frankly, I don’t know a ton about rotated dies within the realm of Seated Liberty material. I look at enough coins to know they aren’t all over the place, but I don’t think they’re super rare. I just thought it was a neat addition to my overall stash even though it doesn’t really have a place in any of my current sets.
Any of you experts with knowledge on this particular die alignment?
Sorry for the crappy pics. At least the die situation is easy to discern.
The gallery of Seated dollar images from my local friend, whose set I photographed last year. Some really nice coins. I'm not a Seated guy (nor a dollar guy) but I understand the attraction.
These are really the only three seated coins I have that I find worthy of showcasing. They’re all from my ANACS submission. I really like the dime, though. One of my favorites from my collection!

Two 1848-Os. The second is an upgrade for the first coin. Looking at the first coin makes me think I could have graded that one and spared myself the costly upgrade. Coins are going for high prices in auctions these days.

I like the 1877 half with a nice, circulated cameo look.
A nice, original raw coin off of eBay! It just arrived and it is very choice for the grade, IMO. A coin with the look! A nice coin moment. Even though it is worth about $110, I'm going to get it graded.
This 1848-O arrived as well, and it has light, iridescent toning on the reverse that wasn't evident in the HA photos. Two nice coins in one day!!
These coins crossed from their former grader and grade to new CACG grades.
ANACS AU55 to CACG AU58. - Great!
ANACS OWH XF45 1858 to CACG XF40 - OK - At least I finally have a decent photo of this beautiful "pioneer" coin for my collection.
.
.
ANACS OWH XF45 WB-27 to CACG "XF Details - obverse cleaned" WB-27 - Ouch! - That might be kind, too. At least I scored on the 1878 half in CACG AU58.
Grades were posted for my last submission. My 1874-S WB-5 is now the plate coin in CoinFacts for the 74-S WB-2, despite my sending them notes and a copy of BB's addendum Web page for the WB-5 with my submission. Hopefully they can fix this before shipping it.
.
74-S WB-5 VF20 - not pretty but pretty rare, raw from Brian Greer after being alerted to it by @Southcounty.
.
1857 XF45 - raw coin from eBay's "Ernie"
.
1863 XF40 - raw from the Reeded Edge
.
1869-S VF30 - raw from somewhere, I'm glad this one graded. Next stop will be Great Collections.
I’ve posted these before but the pics were awful, and I had them out of my SDB so I figured I’d take a few more that highlight the color. The pics are still not very good, ah well.
The fatties are perfect as well.
I like these two a lot.

1858-O Seated Lib Quarter (Raw)

A Barber Quartet is made up of Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and Halves.
I see the rim cud now in both photos. I thought they were two different coins, with one replacing the other in your collection.
Perfect collector coin!
I almost purchased this one at the recent Houston show, but just couldn’t get over the messy fields.
The 3818 certs (most have CAC) are usually very nice. From the Spring Creek Collection. Both your double dimes are great.

I don't collect proofs because they have to be PR67 or higher to be free of hairlines for me to enjoy them. I don't like hairlines or wiping on coins.

@skier07 that 68-s has what I think is a perfect look for originality. Awesome coin.
