This 25-tin set was given out at the 1997 Fanfest and is parallel to the Donruss Preferred Tin Packs set. The difference is found in the gold trim on the tin.
Born on this day in 1903! Could have won the 1926 World Series but his potential grand slam went 10 feet foul and the legend of Grover Cleveland Alexander was born.

In September 1997 Pinnacle Brands distributed promo cards, available in all three colors, previewing the upcoming 1998 Epix inserts. There is no player depicted and the front merely has Pinnacle's "Icon" logo. Like the regular Epix inserts, the Orange promo is the easiest to find and the Emerald the scarcest.
Robin Ventura had no idea what he was in for almost 20 years later. Just watched the video again Bo Jackson looks like he wants blood as well. Just love 75’s and this issue.

The reason for my screen name (here) and one of those items that I feel genuinely lucky to have in the fold; it is special to me for a number of reasons, of course, but chief among them is the photo image is so clear and crisp and I think black and white is wonderful.

Lucky to live in Seattle where the O'Brien twins retired. Got this signed in 2012 at a Seattle U basketball game. They of course had front row seats. Unfortunately Eddie passed in 2014. Cool card and Seattle legends.
Wow! What a life. Born on this day in 1936. His highlights/lowlights include pitching the first no hitter in MLB on the west coast(in his 4th start!) for the Angels in 1962, front page news because of an assault charge by a woman two months later. Appeared in TV shows like 77 Sunset Strip. Engaged to American sex symbol Mamie Van Doren, married a Playboy Playmate of the Year, had a lounge act in Vegas,beat the crap out of an old reporter, had alcohol and drug issues and had books written about him. All this for a pitcher who had a career W-L of 28-51!

This 8.5 photo of the 54 Aaron RC I took at the National this year. It was certainly a solid looking card IP and whoever got it sure purchased a great looking example.

Born on this day in 1934, he was the only person to be a recording artist and a Major Leaguer at the same time! He recorded under his real name Arthur Lee Maye with the Crowns. He played baseball in the majors for twelve years and sung R&B and soul for over forty! The back of this card says he once sang for the Platters but really he sang with future members of the Platters.

Celebrating the man who just got paid. Guessing he’ll be harder to get now that he signed with the Yankees but I was able to get this one earlier this year during ST.
Happy 74th Birthday "Road Runner"! 1974 batting champ (second in '71 AND '72) with a lifetime .306 BA! Holds the record with an astonishing 149 hits before the All Star break in 1974! Might have broken the NL record for hits (254 Lefty O'Doul,Bill Terry) but missed 20 games due to injury. Luis Tiant was once traded for 500 teddy bears in 1989 ...and Ralph Garr.
