pocketpiececommems · January 26, 2016 1:06AM

Walked an empty parking lot for 58 minutes yesterday morning. 6 quarters, 4 dimes, 1 nickel and 8 pennies plus 30 aluminum cans. There are a lot of days that I don't do that good detecting??

ricko · January 26, 2016 1:33AM

Just one, new and shiny, 2015 cent..... had not been there long, no scratches or divots..

Cheers, RickO

pocketpiececommems · January 29, 2016 9:29AM

58 cents from the HS parking lot today and 72 cents on Wednesday.

Andy1234 · January 29, 2016 12:47PM

How and when do you guys get coin star finds? I have looked around 10 times in the reject tray, and there has never been anything!

pcgs69 · January 30, 2016 12:57AM

Got a Canadian dime and a clad Roosevelt in the Coinstar reject bin yesterday. It's something, and quite a surprise because they're usually empty.

ricko · January 30, 2016 2:18AM

Yep...usually empty... I got a 1997 cent yesterday... Cheers, RickO

packerfan1964 · January 30, 2016 1:17PM

i found a $20 bill on a nature trail when i was a kid 35 years ago

pcgs69 · February 11, 2016 5:16AM

it's pretty much an "eyeball find" thread.

Plus, your dime find is legit. Probably no jail time involved in said discovery.

pocketpiececommems · February 11, 2016 7:06AM

Anything you find with out a detector is an eyeball or a roadkill find??. Found a quarter and a dime walking yesterday ??

pocketpiececommems · February 11, 2016 10:37PM

Hydrant. Are you an English teacher? The quarter and dime were just rolling along

They didn't get where they were going because then are in my roadkill container now. Someday they will be traded in for silver.

TigersFan2 · February 12, 2016 4:33AM

I found a nickel on the floor at church this past Sunday morning. I'm thinking I should have put it in the offering.

ricko · February 16, 2016 3:28AM

JACKPOT!!! A dollar ninety six in the coinstar machine yesterday....WOW... most I have

ever found in the reject bin. All modern stuff...two were Canadian quarters....

What a haul.... Cheers, RickO

pcgs69 · February 20, 2016 5:21AM

Hydrant ripping it up!

I was at a store the other day and saw that looked like it may have been some kind of belly button ring on the ground. Left it there. Not touching that!

ricko · February 21, 2016 1:16AM

Hydrant... Canadian quarters spend just as well as American quarters... with the SHQ and Parks

program, no one looks at them anymore.... $1.96 stands....Cheers, RickO

Dockwalliper · February 22, 2016 8:08AM

Walked the sledding hill and picked up 65 cents followed up by a trip to the CoinStar and scored another 22 cents including a Canadian dime.

pocketpiececommems · February 22, 2016 11:14AM

On my morning can walk I was crossing a street and noticed a quarter. When I when to pick it up I noticed more change. Total: 3 quarters, 2 dimes, 1 nickel and 2 pennies. (aluminum cans - 36)

Dockwalliper · February 23, 2016 4:31AM

Another sledding hill, another 60 cents. Gotta do something with my regular puck hunt time.

ricko · February 25, 2016 5:25AM

Hydrant... I am a nice guy... most of the time. Cheers, RickO

I knew that. Anyway, just picked up a penny off the lot. Well, it was a penny at one time. Extreme damage.

I have a rather large "half cent" collection.

pocketpiececommems · February 26, 2016 2:04PM

I would count Canadian quarters. My guess is that most stores would take them and well as other Canadian coinage. Did find 4 pennies at 4 different locations while I was walking today. Sure miss Docks updates on Hockey pucks. Maybe it will freeze up and hockey can be played again

pocketpiececommems · March 6, 2016 12:03PM

Checked the high school parking lot before I metal detected today. 3 quarters, 2 dimes, 1 nickel and 7 pennies plus a QuickTrip prepaid card with $20.63 on it. I may be able to get a few extra Apple Fritters now

Dockwalliper · March 8, 2016 11:01AM

WhiteTornado · March 10, 2016 6:19AM

Found a large, bling-y hoop earring at a shopping plaza. Pretty sure it's fake. Going to give it a magnet test to make sure.

pocketpiececommems · March 10, 2016 1:42PM

1 quarter, 5 pennies and a 5/16 wrench

pocketpiececommems · March 11, 2016 2:27AM

All you guys are finding stuff. I'm going to walk around some lots so I can post here too. Will report back shortly!

ricko · March 12, 2016 4:18AM

Nothing today... but I did see something interesting...At the Coinstar machine I saw two

women with SIX gallon jugs of coins.... slowly emptying them into the Coinstar maw. I was going

to wait around until they were done, so I could check the reject slot, but one of them was cleaning it out as fast as coins dropped there. Cheers, RickO

pocketpiececommems · March 13, 2016 11:04AM

Today's finds were the same as the 11th. Quarter, 2 dimes & 6 pennies. Yesterday I walked in the rain a only found one penny but I did find 2 baseballs laying in the street as I went by some baseball fields

pocketpiececommems · March 16, 2016 7:36AM

Dockwalliper · March 16, 2016 10:59AM

ricko · March 16, 2016 11:40AM

Found a $5 winning scratch off lottery ticket in the supermarket parking lot....almost like cash.

pocketpiececommems · March 16, 2016 11:28PM

Cheers, RickO

WhiteTornado · March 21, 2016 10:18AM

I found a dime on the sidewalk a couple of days ago. That bling-y earring I found a few weeks back turned out to be junk; finally did a magnet test on it.

pocketpiececommems · March 21, 2016 10:36AM

3 zincolns.....1 dollar bill..and 55 cans

ricko · March 22, 2016 1:48AM

pocketpiececommems · March 23, 2016 10:32AM

I can't match your quarter but I did find two dimes and a penny

TigersFan2 · March 24, 2016 9:31AM

I keep finding coins on the floor of my office at work, but I suspect that they're falling out of my pocket when I pull my iPhone out of my pocket.

pocketpiececommems · March 25, 2016 1:57PM

1 quarter, 3 pennies, 1 pair of 8in Channel Locks and 48 cans

pocketpiececommems · March 25, 2016 10:12PM

Any kind of Craftsman tool is ok. You can take the beat up or broken ones back to Sears and get them replaced for the life time of the tool ??

pocketpiececommems · March 26, 2016 11:46AM

1 nickel and 7 pennies on the street

ricko · March 27, 2016 7:07AM

Discarded cans are not common around here.... I think most people recycle them.. Sure, once in

a while I see one, but that is rare. I did find a nickel today....not in a parking lot, not in the market... but in the gutter in front of my house....weird. Cheers, RickO

pocketpiececommems · March 27, 2016 12:18PM

Well I did find 17 cans yesterday. I just didn't report it. Nothing today. Hid Easter eggs for the grandkids. When walking and collecting cans I smash them and put them in a Wal-Mart bag. I do stash some of the bigger items that I find to drive back and get them like an aluminum grain shovel that I found the other day. Haven't gone back yet. Same for car batteries.

There is no refund for cans here so we have a lot of people that just pitch them like good slobs.
