LOL. Actually, I'm a one man operation and I shipped almost 300 individual coins last week from these sets. But, unlike this guy who seems to be trying to clear inventory at cost or below, I was actually making money on my shipments.

Your comment only proofs how little you know about some of the major bullion players. Not only is he a US Mint Authorized bullion buyer, but also a major ebay player. You can "bet your sweet bippy," he's not loosing any money.

I agree, on the single units certainly. But it is hard to see how he would make money at $32.99 each given the eBay/PayPal fees and the free shipping. If he's making money on those multiple unit sales, it's nickels and dimes per unit. Hardly seems worth his time.

If this issue was treated as a normal bulk purchase item, they would have gotten an additional 5% off the sales price, or about $28.50/set.
So I ordered two sets on 8/13. It took the mint two days to get the package to FedEx, and even then, I got it yesterday. Four days, half of the 8 days smartpost usually takes.
Maybe it's the eclipse. That means I won't get another smartpost package that quick until 2024...

Look at BST,,, if the 225th was a winner ,there would tens of offers to buy/ sell as with other Mint product winners in the past ..
NOw... None on BST ... except for 1 dying listing
this guy either has paid help or is just retired and bored
free shipping ...ebay /paypal.fees...... set is a loser to that ebayer
He probably gets the discount from the Mint, he probably gets discounts from PCGS and NGC, he probably gets discounts from Ebay and probably PayPal with special account.
These are probably the crap sets that were not good enough to get graded.
He's fine with breaking even or only making a few bucks.
At least he's not some idiot who orders 20,000 and then has to cancel or gets rejected by the Mint.
Wait till he sells 1000 70 sets for 100 profit each, for $100,000. Who's laughing then.

OK..again..why would anyone ESPECIALLY the informed posters here choose to buy anything from a 3rd party that they can just order from the Mint . Do you really think it strange that there are no listings?
The only appropriate listings would be for graded or single coins

Hey Big Al...... even the Gold SLqs..How about the 2006 Silver Aniv sets they were listed regularly on BST before their sellout
i noticed a big jump in sales the last time it become unavailable. just wait and see what happens when the sets are completely gone in about 4 days and watch the fireworks, no the prices won't jump up much but the lowballers will get wiped out. that is when supply and demand takes over, the scale tips to the people holding the sets.. This product is currently sold out.
there are currently about 75 people per hour buying a set right now from the mint, where does that 75 per hour generate to when they are gone? the secondary market

So it's okay for sellers to be greedy but not ebay?
It takes 2 to Tango....Under normal circumstances the market dictates the price and not the seller. Sellers with unrealistic high BIN's, does not indicate greed, just lack of savvy salesmanship. Same applies to eBay. It sure beats the 15%-20% auction fees that your major auction houses charge.

If I recall correctly, the 2006 SAE sets had a household/buyer limit (10?).
These 225th sets have no limit.

Point taken...and I loaded up on them also. But I think different beast....silver...ASE....vs. clad....mint set...BUT....S mint...EF...low (relative) mintage...we'll see
Still loading up on low ball 70 sets ...cheaper than submitting my own
Patience will be rewarded with this set in the long term, imo. Not a home run reward, but a solid double.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
With only 225,000 struck, I can see the lowest-mintage 2017-S Lincoln cents alone eventually going for $50 each. That's only 1/10th the price of a 1909-S VDB in good.
I just opened and checked 3 sets I ordered the 1st day after they came back on sale August 4th
I beleive I have an error set as I got 2 lens of cents, nickels, dimes, half and dollar coins. No quarters.
I would send them back but I believe these are worth more than the quarters.
I don't think these are returned sets due to the fact there wasn't time for them to have been returned before they were shipped to me. I have had the sets for awhile,,,,,, just never looked at them until today
I bought one set just for the heck of it when they went back on sale. I received them today and the half dollar looks great with that "enhanced" finish. I am not a modern guy but the enhanced look is kind of cool The lettering kind of pops when you rotate it in the light (Reverse on the one with the half and obverse on the quarters).
As stated previously, it does not cost $350 to grade a set submitted via "bulk." That's why you only, at this time, see dealers offering full PCGS & NGC graded 70 sets for less than $300. Us peons, should take advantage of their offerings, and who knows, if you subsequently sell the coins individually, you may even end up making a few bucks.

Appear to still be getting some returns. Of course, people who are returning anything that isn't a 70 don't really understand the nature of coin production, but it's their nickel. The flippers who returned them because they couldn't flip them fast enough...well...I kinda sort of hate them. LOL.
Y'know, a 20% restocking fee would cut down on some of the speculators. You wouldn't order 500 sets "just in case" if it cost you $6 per set to return them.

It could be that people returned sets that had issues. I ordered 10, returned 2 that had that red pizza/rust sauce on the dollar. That's 20% of my order.....a 5% return rate for issues would be 11,250 sets....
Comments
usually when they re-open sales on a mint product the numbers available are so low your chances of getting a order in are low
I have hundreds of sets, I could use a loss for the year if they don't work out.

I find that impressive if you have a full time job
LOL. Well, I do have a full-time job, but it was running part-time last week as I prep for the start of classes next week.
In a normal year, I ship about 3000 packages. You just need a system...and to value your time at near zero.

Please read the posts right above that. That eBayer is a MAJOR RETAILER. He's definitely making money on those sets.

Well the fact that it would cost $350+ to grade one set might damper that connection
It costs about $70 to grade a set if you do it in bulk. That's where these sets are coming from, for the most part.
