Quite true...the Mint said that any customers with subscriptions would keep their CC info on file...but....I have a few subs and when I checked there was no CC info on file.
I think the coins themselves are cool -- one from each mint is cool as well. I may get 2 or 3 sets now, instead of one.
They should end the series, but if they don't they should use these "original head" designs instead of the horrible "spaghetti hair" coins made for the mint sets.
<< <i>If the quality is good this will be a nice set to add to your collection. Don't waste time or money buying extras.
The big guys will have graded ones by the thousands at prices that will most likely be below your cost after their initial attempt at price gouging fails.
Order what you want to keep and hope the quality is good.

I agree. The small guy can't compete with the dealers on this one. Grading fees, PP fees, Ebay fees, etc will kill any profit.
I'll buy a few sets from the Mint, but i'll buy a 70 set from the dealers and be done with it. Not sending any in my self.
I find it interesting that when the 2011 25th Annie ASE set came out some complained about how much the packaging (nice) probably added to the cost...now the packaging is minimal and the complaints are also there....
Mint News Blog is reporting that a maximum mintage for the 4 coin set is 300,000. 5 per household is still in effect. 180,000 sets will be available on the first day. This will make for quick shipping. I estimate within 5 days of ordering. 200,000 mintage limit on the 2 coin set has also been enacted. No mintage maximum on the gold.

...meaning the coins could show up singularly or in additional sets??? I would think that it would be a bit late in the year to pull that off.
Everybody have fun with these Silver Sets. If you want them buy them. If you're tired of Kennedy's for a while, sit it out. With a flood of 180,000 ready to sweep throuh Numisville, it will be interesting to see if everyone is drowned or if some do survive in the end.
I'm just going to sit on a hill and watch it all happen.
I'm going to put out my first day sales prediction which is all part of the fun of US Mint watching. I'm guessing 110,000 sets sold the first day. When the flood hits the bay- look out - a repeat of the Gold disaster- only worst.
I will say these might not be in high demand or is the new ordering site that good! I got 3 on my first order then ordered another 1 set to open, got right in both times!

Many of the chronicles sets, and innovative packaging the mint has put out have been really nice.
This? At least in the mint's illustration--Yuk!

If you plan on ordering these sets, you'll probably want to add a CC on the mint site so it doesn't slow down the ordering process on Oct 28.
BTW, my order history only goes back to 2008. I've contacted the mint, and their reply was, "That's the way it is."
Thanks for the warning!

I recommend reading the "complaint" thread before Oct 28 and prepare for the quirks.

They won't sell out in 2 days

<< <i>I think the (silver) minted will surpass their clad little brothers. >>
Hmm, good guess. The clads are limited to 200,000 (product) and the silver to 300,000 (product).
I've seen the mags advertise the 2-coin clad set for $29.95. Not bad for a $9.95 offer.
I'll prolly go for 5 silver sets. (I pulled the plug on the gold after I ordered.)
