Maybe you were wrong...maybe not. The seller has no prior coin selling history and that was the only item listed. That MO is often the case for a hijacked account...

While it is known that the mint reships returns, there are enough returns and quality coins that I would not be concerned about getting someone's reject. Perhaps they could not flip it.
Here's one with Chicago Label ANA but bought in Washington D.C. I would think the a DC Mint Label would be more desirable than a Chicago ANA Label. JMHO.
What is the Mint waiting for? Hasn't it been 2 weeks where the returns are greater than sales and yet they keep it open for sale? Just reinforces my opinion that the federal govt is slow and dumb. I feel certain that if they would halt sales then the returns would dry up fast.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.

As long as they are making money on each coin they should keep stamping them out. More coins for actual collectors that way.
A few years down the road if collectors can get them for melt then thats a big plus too. As long as the mint is turning a profit nothing else should matter.
The mint doesn't need to cater to speculators , that isn't its mission if they can sell a million then make a million.

That whole thing is silly because unless the receipt is stapled to the coin when purchased there is no way to guarantee that the coin graded is the same one purchased in Timbuktoo...
<< <i>Kudbegud, did you get the numbers from the Federal Register? Just wondering. >>
On the mint site HERE Bottom right corner of their front page, "Production & Sales Figures" gets you there. Suposed to be posted by 5 pm Tuesday but was late yesterday. "Figures are posted weekly by 5 p.m. (ET) Tuesdays to reflect sales demand through the previous Sunday, starting on June 18, 2013."

They aren't selling much when the returns are higher than sales. If I was running the Mint I think that I would cut them off when the average of 3 weeks of sales fall below a certain level. Otherwise, it just dies on the vine. Of course if you have a certain inventory you have to try and sell them.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
My guess is very small incremental sales from here 100-200 a week And also a revision in mintage figures later, downwards I'm thinking to under 60k They definitely have not factored in all returns or cancellations
At this point the best thing The Mint could do is announce and end date for sales of this coin,,,,, say September 30, 2014.
This might put an end to most of the returns and might even get a few more orders on the books.
Who knows,,,,,, a small enough FINAL Mintage number might put some legs back under old JFK
Keep selling them until the end of the year and this coin is doomed to a melt value only item. The sooner sales end the better. I might even buy one when they are cheap enough.
I don'r get why anyone would buy from them at $1,299 when it can be bought direct from the mint at the new price of $1,202.50 besides the fact of why they would buy from Ag-town. And that original price of $1,699.95 for a raw coin they have certainly cherry picked out as not 70 possible really is foolish

Ag-town is okay , they listed rolls of ASE's today for $108 apiece

Almost back to the first day number for the gold. Returned coins taking their toll.
Perhaps they sit online for a while.
Will clad sales scavenge silver set sales? Will collectors have had their fill of kennedy by late october?
And fun! The plat proof is also at the end of October!
<< <i>I wonder how many people waiting on their orders haven't seen the secondary market for them >>
I doubt anyone is waiting on an order. I did not place my order on the first day, and it has arrived. They have more than enough coins minted already
I assumed the gold was still on BO
It isn't. They are in stock!
The clad is still on BO.

Time to move on,,,,,,,,,,,

Although the number of amateur flippers who are now collectors is unknown

For those that bought and are holding raw, I hope you see spot price buoy you.
For those that chose not to gamble, you are safe.
Perhaps they just went off BO.
I will guess next week will see a slight uptick is sales.
My clad number was too low.
Next week's guess
Gold +150
Clad +1750
I knew it would happen.

JMHO, GrandAm
This is a not hot secondary market issue, but it is definitely hot enough that it sold more than the RP Buffs
I'm quite satisfied
