Orders in...my God, I feel like I gave birth!

In fact, my wife just said giving birth was easier!!!

So...are we actually nearing a sell out?!?

I am at the payment page and it's just sitting there. I don't want to hit refresh and screw the thing up. It's been "thinking" for about 5 minutes now.

  • Finally got my last two, order number 7500 more than my last one 30 minutes ago.

To all those who have been able to get in - any tips for the rest of us that haven't? I have the fastest cable internet speed offered by Cox Cable and all it does is sit there and churn. Does hitting refresh help? Starting over?

paladin you have to hit refresh until the page comes up, then put in the amount and hit the continue button. You have to keep refreshing to get the page to fully load so the java works. Once it shows it moves to the next page you can refresh again if needed. I had to refresh five times probably for each order.

Just hang in there, it churns for a while and appears to do nothing and then all of a sudden it moves on to the next step.

Well, I recieved an order confirmation email for 5 sets, so I guess I was successful.

Open up multiple tabs and toggle between them. On one of the tabs go directly to your cart. You may be surprised by what's in it!

I'm getting a weird feeling about this...based solely on order numbers, is it possible that they're already sold out?!?

I think the single set orders outweigh the 5 set orders by ten to one. My guess.

I was trying from multiple systems on a full Gigabit link to our ISP which has multiple upstream providers to handle whatever load we throw at it. We placed 3 orders with Google Chrome with no success from Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 6, using all 3 equally. Your results may vary.

  • well after 1.5 hrs on 2 pc and 96 call attempts (30% being selected) and no luck
I got one order in for 2
I hope I can get the rest I want!
  • EggerEgger Posts: 421 ✭✭
still trying to get logged in for my last 5
  • I would assume most people are trying 1-3 sets per order.
most people want them in separate shipping boxes. I know I do.

some for grading (2), gift for dad (1), away for daughter (1), and for me to open(1)

I switched from IE to google chrome a week ago and my speed picked up and i always had trouble getting in with IE, today with google chrome took 5 minutes.

It's going slow but sure. I'm a FF guy and its set not to time out, and if it does it auto-reloads,(don't ask it's a long story) I'm just watching tv in the corner and chatting on messenger waiting for the (ding). Not getting worked up over it with lot of windows(tabs) open. Just one doing its thing and taking its time.

edit to add. I glad they removed the 'where did you hear about this' drop down.image
Need something designed and 3D printed?
  • I used 3 browsers figuring whichever one got there first id use. It was chrome but i also had firefox and opera attacking. took 45 minutes but i think 3 chanches are better than one.

What happens when you type some wrong info when you order like say the expiration date or the credit card type or the number itself? Can it be corrected?

  • << <i>What happens when you type some wrong info when you order like say the expiration date or the credit card type or the number itself? Can it be corrected? >>

    Call them ASAP.
  • all i really want to do is order my damn glacier p 5 ozer

    what the PUCK!!!
  • IMPORTANT:
If your order didn't go through completely ( Mine didn't, but showed an order number in my account), it is a phantom order. When I ordered it and saw this in my account, I placed the order again and it went through with an e-mail. Just now I checked my account and I only have one order, the phantom number is gone. It also does not show when you try to track it.

Place your order again before it's too late!

Dunno ? I placed an order..... However I cannot get back in to see
TIN SOLDIERS & NIXON COMING image
  • I finally got my order in and I received a email with the order number. So I go sign in to my account at the Mint and check the order history. The order number in the system does not match the email and the order number in the system is some 12,000 orders earlier. Things are really messed up!

    -------------> Update<-----------

I called the mint and got right in to a very nice lady who looked up my account. The old order number is bogus! The newer order number that matched the email is correct.

Did you get a confirmation email with the order that didn't go through completely?

Best part is silver is up today also image
  • If in doubt, place the order again. If you have two orders, you can cancel one. I made a copy of my phantom order number that doesn't exist. I never got an e-mail from the Mint for the phantom, but I did for the second order. Glad I knew about phantom orders.
  • Order for 5 went through around 12:45 PST (3:45 EST). Order number: 38364xxx

101 phone calls: busy signal every time.
Firefox: never got the catalog page to open.
Browser on phone: was able to add to cart, but got an error trying to look at the cart.
Internet Explorer: was able to add to the cart, but going to the cart locked up my computer so I had to restart it (happened twice. Coincidence?)
Chrome: placed order. I originally intended to do three orders: two for one, and one for three, but after that hassle, I decided to order all five at once. Maybe I can call the mint tomorrow and change it to several orders - we'll see.

  • paladinpaladin Posts: 898 ✭✭

Well, it took 4 hours and 4 browsers but Chrome finally came through for me.

    Order # 38368xxx

There's 25,000 orders between when I was able to get through on the phone and when I finally got through online.

There can't be many more of these left.

I used chrome, but expedited shipping was like $17.95 or so I thought expedited shipping on 5 sets was free. Also I had to do a little finagling to get 5 sets in my cart with chrome. Anyone else see this.

Trying since noon, no luck. Sure sold out already.

The five/hh limit is fantastic for those who were able to order, hosed me.

Expedited shipping is automatic for orders over $300...you wasted good $$$ by requesting that option for your order. US Mint does not have a free shipping option...they did years ago for internet orders though..

You had to order the standard shipping for $4.95 to get expedited for free. It's upgraded automatically. If you choose expedited during the ordering process you'll be charged the $17.95.

Raufus - the volume has dropped way down in the past few minutes. You should be able to get through now.

    Thanks for the note.

Still no luck on the phone, pages hung up, not loading.

For the computer folks...what's F5 for? When do you use it? If you're hung up on a page and hit it you loose the bars and go back to the beginning.

F5 is a page refresh button. If that doesn't work try Control F5.

Thanks, but when do you use it? If you are stuck at 3 bars and hit it you loose them and go back to the beginning. Thanks!!
