I bet the mint goes back on all the 5 household orders to limit them to one because of the enormous popularity of this set. They did it before and I think they will do it again.

This wouldn't surprise me one bit. There's going to be a lot of negs for Ebay pre-sellers IMO.
can't even begin to get on. How is it possible that The Mint can't just upgrade their computer system to handle high-volume orders. I'll never understand this.
It looks like, according to people posted order numbers, they are taking orders slowly, I estimate 2000 every five to ten minutes.

Because it would be an unnecessary cost to them. It only does this on HOT items, which are once a year or so. Maybe up to 3 times. The rest of the time, it is fine.
They also do not lose any sales over this and all 100000 sets WILL sell out.
They are a business and so they make business decisions, which we (myself included with how you feel actually) may not agree with.
I don't know how you all are getting through. This is the worst I've ever seen it, and I have the fastest cable internet available. Never seen demand like this for a Mint product.

They're going to sell out in two to three hours. (if people keep ordering nearly 5)
That's as fast as they can accept orders.

It doesn't seem like there has been an allout crash like there was with Hot Springs. However, this is bad. Safari seems to be handling it better than Firefox or Chrome for me on a Mac.

never thought about safari, i used chrome this time, though vs IE8 as IE9 for some reason runs slower. i use IE8 for most everything, still.
i was time-out three times, before got it all to go through, should probably change my settings?

I don't think there is a setting for making the mint site servers faster
So, I was able to get to the payment step, where I hit Quick Checkout, but then it timed out. However, I've since been able to get to my "Track Order" page and see it listed there. So, I guess it went through? If so:

Same thing happened to me, I hit place order, then it crashed.. Checked my email, had an order number. That's legit right?

My concern is that I haven't gotten an e-mail. Also, what does everyone else see as their order status if they check it? Mine says "Order Status: Your order request has been suspended. "
