So...as I head off into the Connecticut woods to try my luck at the craps table, is it safe to assume that nothing much is going to happen re ATB sales until 1/3/2011...or is that naive on my part (as I can also pack a laptop).
<< <i>And this ATB Set will be interesting to watch as it has good pics, a strong seller (I am not familiar with), and is ending at a busy time of the day.
Not for nothing, but isn't paying moon money for these coins before the entire mintage "floods" onto the market rather...ah...what's the word I'm looking for...oh yeah...INSANE?
Right now, this is an artificially thin illequid market.

Look at the terms the seller offered. The payment must clear his bank. PayPal is not going to release his funds until the buyer leaves feedback or the seller can provide delivery confirmation. I wonder if he has no coins and thinks he will have the cash in hand out of the reach of PayPal and just not delivery...
<< <i>Holding tight to see if the frenzy increases. After Jan 3rd, this will change. (?) (!) >>
I think after more sets are delivered, more will flood eBay and the prices will come down. >>
I suspect that a few like myself, will not be tempted in making a fast buck. These pucks are just to damned interesting & with a similar low mintage like the 1995 W ASE...Who knows what the future will bring...if you need the cash, by all means take advantage while the going is good.

That is the list which was used to notify myself and others about the initial offering of the first 1000 sets. Don’t get it.
I think the alert me list from APMEX will work for those who havent purchased from APMEX yet.
I spoke to the customer service manager today, according to her - the latest is they are considering offering to alert me subscribers in the order in which they were received. They may not get to do it until after the new year.
I agree that APMEX might be one of the only AP's actually committed now to do the right thing and offer these to the general public.
The others, who knows?
If you are currently holding a physical set of 5, those prices are sky high. You have to be seriously tempted to sell. I wouldnt keep them for those prices. I'd take my chances to get a set with another AP later.
On another note, I would guess that the prices realized over the next few days will be the highest that well see for years. Of course, I should have seen this coming before I sent my set off to PCGS resterday. I'm sure that I'll get it back well after many more sets hit ebay from the APs who will be selling next week. Grrr.

I would not be surprised if at least one AP, and perhaps more than one, decides to dump its entire allotment to a telemarketer and dare the Mint to do anything about it. It can make an easy $5,000,000 or so up front by doing so with very little effort, versus making 30 cents or so on 15,000,000 silver eagles sold with a lot of effort over many years to come.

remember guys - if silver keeps moving to the upside, soon there will be a poin t where the bullion value exceeds the 850 for the set - then we will have a whole bunch of new players in this game trying to buy these things......
price is locked from AP to buyer at approx 850-860 a set regardless of where silver moves.....
