Too bad about the Jack Hunt coins. I have yet to see--or did not notice--one person who got a great batch. Still waiting for mine. Maybe they cherrypicked....
Successful transactions with keepdachange, tizofthe, adriana, wondercoin
My Jack Hunt coins are fantastic! All MS69DMPL! Picked them up today at the FedEx office and am very impressed with the quality of these pieces. This is the first time I've held a raw one in my hands and they are a huge chunk of coin but are very thin. Resting in Air-Tites for now. Say hello to $5,000 in ATB rounds!
Thanks Pink! I'm a bit giddy at the moment and shocked too. An MS68PL would be a low ball in this group and I honestly believe 3 or 4 will hit the top at MS69DMPL. Incredible mirrors and no blemishes anywhere!
So much for keeping a set. Maybe the Dillon Gage coins won't look this good and I'll keep them.

I went all in and have 3 sets coming so glad to hear there is a shot for a good one or two. My first set from MTB was good. Haven't had a good set since.
I drank a Warsteiner in apprehension more than anything before opening the JHCB set. - AND - the JHCB set is mediocre at best upon opening.
Couple of 68 mirrors, two more a wee bit dull and one dog with white crap on GW's curly hair. OH WELL, into the stack it goes.
Can't help but think the long delay for JHCB to sell might mean the coins were cherrypicked before packaging?
Fidelitrade package opening will be when I feel the mojo, the stars are all aligned and the Mayan calender says it's time. Which is probably tomorrow. >>
Ok Are we gonna open up the fidelitrade"s Tonight Or do We leave them sealed epcjimi1 you open yours first woohoooo 10 puck weekend >>
You should like the F trade much better my 2 sets had many DM and PL but only in 67 and 68 maybe 1-69 was hoping the JHCB would be better. Some of mine with white crap didn't seem to bother the grading go figure.

Air-Tites for these are $1.60/ea at JPs Corner. They're a tad "thick" for the ATB rounds, about 1mm thicker than the coins so there is a touch of play.
Just curious...is nyc_coins from Ebay a forum member. They sure sell a LOT of pucks!
Just noticed that they got $4400 for a PCGS MS69PL FS set on 7th via BIN, while several other identical sets brought $3K or less. What was that buyer thinking??? You'd think that folks would look at completed auctions before laying out that kind of $!

Yes I am a forum member...
The $4400 price wasn't the actual price we sold the set for. That was the listing (pre-sale) price, (we had it for 20 or 30 % off) if i recall correctly - we sold them for the low 3k's - maybe 3300 or so. When you end a BIN listing early, it will show the listings price even if that wasn't the sales price. (if that makes any sense... :-) )
As stated a few pages back, we are getting rid of a substantial portion of our inventory over this weekend, and expect some good prices for buyers. (I think we have 52 more listings going off tomorrow night.)
I took a closer look at the two Yellowstone ATB that I received with the white spot on the checks. It looks like they weren't stuck completely. The surface is very ruff and pitted st the spots looking though a loupe. The rest of the coin looks fully struck however. That makes me think that perhaps the planchets may have been the problem or perhaps Die deterioration? Any thought?

i also have two with the spot and looked at them with a loupe and see what looks like tiny pits. i was thinking it had to do with metal flow during striking? its almost dead center in the middle of the coin.
My jo needs its mo and my thing needs its swing because the Fidilitrade set I opened last night is, eh, lackluster. Scratches, white tube rubs and die polished up the ying yang. One, both or a combination thereof on all coins.
Congrats to the guys scoring good coins for submission!
I have a CnT set coming and another Fidelitrade. I'm a glutton for punishment.
But I'm stacking Ag, which is a good thing.

Thanks Miles. It seems like a smart business move for an AP to make sure that the initial sets that are shipped are good ones, which is why I was surprised at the poor quality of the initial shipments from JH. But then RedHerring reported receiving a great set, so now I don't know what to think. My set arrives on Tues. so I'll find out soon enough. Unfortunately, that won't help anyone today trying to decide whether or not to take a chance on these. Good luck to us all.

For the MTB, you assume again as people were able to buy on ebay and use a CC (cashback) and use other rebates. Brought my MTB set down to ~$948. That would be more than a $75 profit....

Hey at the very worst you can pick out whatever good ones there are and sell the rest. That is what I did yesterday with my set. I had 3 that
were not that great so i took those 3 plus 2 others I had and sold them to a local B&M shop for $1100. Not a bad profit for no work and no
ebay fees.
I've never done that before. So they don't mind if the coins are a little banged up?

Thank You for the compliment (I'll let go of my copyright for you ).
Thanks for the wishes! - It's crunch time now - 51 listings in the next 3 hours (probably $50k worth) - no reserves on any... so we'll see how real the demand is.
