<< <i>Just curious...is nyc_coins from Ebay a forum member. They sure sell a LOT of pucks!
Just noticed that they got $4400 for a PCGS MS69PL FS set on 7th via BIN, while several other identical sets brought $3K or less. What was that buyer thinking??? You'd think that folks would look at completed auctions before laying out that kind of $! >>
Yes I am a forum member...
The $4400 price wasn't the actual price we sold the set for. That was the listing (pre-sale) price, (we had it for 20 or 30 % off) if i recall correctly - we sold them for the low 3k's - maybe 3300 or so. When you end a BIN listing early, it will show the listings price even if that wasn't the sales price. (if that makes any sense... :-) )
As stated a few pages back, we are getting rid of a substantial portion of our inventory over this weekend, and expect some good prices for buyers. (I think we have 52 more listings going off tomorrow night.)
Enjoy! - Aron >>
Hi Aron-
Thanks for the note.
I saw the $4400 in green under "completed listings" and assumed that this was the final price. Looks like I missed something. BTW, your listings are very well done.
Happy Selling, R- >>

You are doing very good, prices are holding well for the new pcgs POPs that came out the other day.
So where do these go from here? With seemingly every AP sold out will prices stabilize and start to show true collector value? Or will that still be a ways off and only show up after the 2011's start to hit the street?
Teletrades sale ended there closeing prices were much higher than ebay plus they had 15% buyers premium so prices are holding well for the puc`s, although most of there lots are pending looks like sellers were wanting more.

been on there notify list a very long time no updates
We have about two weeks until Gettysberg and Glacier come available to the APs. Is it possible a place like Prudential--which doesn't even have a website mentioning these--actually still plans to sell? Two weeks is not much time for coins that have HH limits, as we have seen. Although sales would certainly quicken if silver continues up and these become a better and better deal, especially if credit cards are taken.
And what about CNT? 6 hrs total of phone sales and their website has been down for nearly a week. There is no way they could have possibly sold out doing regular public sales over the phone.
I guess we will see what this next week brings to see if there are any last ditch efforts to sell.
The 2010 ATBs are definitely running on fumes.

So what's up with this little article. Says a portion of the 2011 bullion pucks will be graded by a third party. Does this mean the mint is sending them to the graders now? what the heck?

Good luck with that. The monster boxes are sealed but it's my understanding the individual tubes are not. APMEX offers a service with their ASEs where they will seal each tube & certify that they are as received from the mint. They may do the same with these. However, it's based on trust & they've certainly lost that, at least for me. Of all the APs, I fully expect APMEX to be cherrypicking all future issues. It's what they do.

Wow a great article in coin world about these...... think you have to be a member to see but very interesting, House subcommittee takes on Bullion Coins. They interviewed president dillion gage and others and also talked to and Accepted as part of the record were comments submitted by Texas dealer Mike Fuljenz, owner and president of Universal Coin and Bullion in Beaumont, who lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in advertising after the Mint changed its distribution rules for the America the Beautiful 5-ounce .999 fine silver bullion coins.. article on bullion coins
Thanks for posting. An interesting read. The Mint seems to be lacking someone with good common sense at the helm. They cannot take all of the blame for the ATB 5 oz fiasco though. Maybe the congressional law was not reasonable in the time restraints it put on making the ATBs? If the Mint could have made more than 33,000 each, it would have. And failing to make a numismatic version in the first year of issue, while making them in 2011 onward? That just spells indigestion with collectors, as we've seen with the ASEs.

I don't know where that came from. Yes, the first ones sold out quickly but not to long after that they were available on the market for near spot. If collectors had followed up on new issues from the Mint after that they would have had nearly a year from issue to purchase most of the coins. She also recommended that the Mint not create any rarities. How boring is that? Give me rarities. If they want boring collector coins with no rarity factor then people can colllect mint sets or tons of other stuff from the mint every year.
