How can you give hoot about quality when Silver is popping $40 per and you can get these under spot, along with the other intangibles (33,000, sold as a set etc).
ALONG with the fact that the 2011 will start at 126,5000 PER COIN (and possibly minted to demand??)
Sell your first born, pimp your beloved, donate your hemoglobin until they roll your semi-conscious carcass out on a gurney into the adjacent alley, but buy these sets from every AP you can, because once they are all sold out, the opportunity ends and its secondary market forever.
Got my Ftrade set yesterday that I ordered about 3 weeks abo. It arrived in the small Fedex 3" box (never expected it to be that small ;-) - they are in capsules and the bubble wrap pockets. All 5 pucks are mirrored but each of them have some minor marks. Not sure if it's worth grading as Jacks are in the mail as well.
Now I'm waiting for my second Ftrade set and the question is - is it worth opening or keep it sealled for later - since the box is quite small it's convenient to store unopened.
ssssssshhhhhhhhh Be Very Quiet I"m Hunting Wabbits................I would say if your not planning on sending them in to get graded leave them in the box. I am still havin second thoughts of sending in 8 and the costs to do so. Since the fidelitrade are in the holders why open the box there safe and a box sale in another year might prove to be a good thing..............

I think if you read all the posts in this thread you would have expected the Fedex 3" box....
Just my 2 cents...but regardless of the current spot price...I'm already into this game for about $6k and I'm still holding out to buy two of the special 2010 Mint versions.
So I'll just keep my eye on that prize (not to mention I'm a bit hesitant to sink more than $8-$10k on an single Mint issue).
And I'm sure I'll regret this decision one day...it always seem to work out that way.
I didn't know that it was allowed to incorporate product ads right in the message text for an appropriate thread..

I got Jack Hunts sets a while back - was on the original list. They were - BY FAR - the worst packing (even worse than the original FideliTrades!) Back then, at least i had a account number w/verbal confirmation that i was getting a set. Now they want you to wire money blind?!?! If I decided not to grade them (I'm getting my set form MTB today) does this basically mean it pretty much is melt value?
Would there be a premium on this set over melt value? Meaning will a "coin" B&M store just give me melt or would they know the premium on this (if there is one).

I think the most important point of all that yada, yada, yada is (as reported by Mint News Blog) :
- "No representatives of the United States Mint were present at the hearing."
From Silver Eagle proofs first spouse to First Strike which was relevant to your post.
The Mint being there is irrelevant because they will only act/change if compelled by Congress (who were there) and only Congress.
I think the hearings had value.
