  • << <i>Fidelitrade cashed my check on 2/16 (just noticed today)

    Clackamas,

Same thing here except, I did get an e-mail 2 days prior saying that my order had been accepted and to expect delivery within 4 weeks. I think that made a total of 3 e-mails and I am still waiting for delivery.

I don't think they would have cashed your check if your order was not accepted.

    Larry >>

    Hi,

How long does it usually take from sending your application to your check being cashed?

I just go off of the phone w/NGC.

I cherrypicked two A Mark sets. Sold one as is and sent the others to NGC. All 69s, no PLs. They may be cutting back on PLs. The Yos that I sent in was just a PL as the one that I have that they graded PL a month ago. Certainly happy though.

I was afraid of NGC slowing down on giving PL's. That is the main reason I sent them there, at least I will get the Early Designation though. I wonder how Coin Vault and all the big sellers seem to have gotten all the PL's.

Oh hell yes a set of 69's, well done. I am still holding out hope that I can put together a PCGS MS69 set out of 3 complete sets, one MTB, and two Fidelitrades.

I just cannot afford to get my 2 Amark sets graded also but since they are already slabbed I might just not ever get them graded until I decide to sell.

My grades just posted. Yosemite was a 68, the other four 69. No PL's either - and I could have shaved in a couple of these. Wonder if they threw a couple of those out to steer sets their way...

Would it be worth buying a 69 Yosemite and sell my 68 so I have a complete set of 69's?

I think it is just an issue of learning since these coins are new and after analyzing a bunch of them they may have changed their criteria. I may be completely wrong, and I wish NGC would put these on their census so I could see how many have been graded but they have not yet.

Staples was sold out when I tried. I ended up thinking I could buy it at the post office since they are the ones that required it, but no luck. They did let me borrow a roll they had. It took 10 days to get the package from PA to Calif. Buyer sent me three emails wondering where his package was. $30 bucks shipping including the insurance and electronic signature fees in a priority mail package. If you send registered, make sure you let the buyer know it may take a while.

Insurance is insurance, you could by 5K and not be registered, it'll cost more, but maybe worth it.

Intertape Kraft Gorilla Reinforced Tape is the best.
Only problem is it's available only by the case.
This place seems to have the best price:

If you absolutely, unequivocally have to have it in say, 7 to 14 days, USPS Registered Mail is the way to go!

I make it a strong point to educate my buyer on this and the Registered security factor; hopefully, outweighing their anxiety of impatience.

Timber, your last part about communication is KEY! I sold an AMark set on ebay and, while the buyer was eager for them, I explained, upfront and in my listing I believe, that, due to the value/weight, I would be sending registered and that, while I would get it out within 1-2 business days (was 1 business day), it would take a little longer due to the security. My buyer came back and thanked me for the quick and open communication. It really saves on headaches when you let them know WHY something may be "slow" and let them know right at the start.

For the tape, I bought a couple of rolls about 3 years ago. Haven't even finished 1 roll yet, but it was the best thing I did to buy the rolls and the small sponge/holder for it. I have been able to use it on the weekends, late at night, on letters I wanted more security for, on other packages, etc. That stuff works well, and I don't tie up the lines at the post office, and I can do it on my own time. When they see me coming, with the packages/letters already pre-taped, they smile and thank me.

So, anyone who spends the $5-$10 for some, I think you are making a smart move and can always use it later as well.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I just got my grades from NGC for the A-Mark set I sent in. Overall I have to say I'm happy with the grades. Hopefully I'll be able to add an NGC MS69 Yellowstone with the Fidelitrade set that will be arriving tomorrow to complete a set of MS69 coins. (Crossing my fingers!)
