Just curious how people are planning to collect these pucks, if collect them at all. Complete MS69 set? MS68 or lower? NGC or PCGS? All ERs, all PLs? Raw, holdered as BU? and so on. I'm debating which way I want to go
<< <i>Just got my grades back from NGC. These were an Apmex set in the capsules - takes forever to gets this grading turned around. All Early Release.

What was your turnaround time with them? Nice job on the Mt Hood!

Got my set yesterday from A-Mark. The only obvious marking/flaw that I saw was this on Mt. Hood. For those who are familiar with grading, how would something like this be evaluated? Is there a certain amount of leeway for bullion coins? >>
I think the spiked 0 is rather cool. >>
Would it be worth sending in to be graded or just sell in the slabbed holder as Choice BU? Opinions welcomed. >>
Are you sure the "spike" is not just a scratch? That is an incused 0, so it appears that the mark is under the digit but it is really not? >>
Not being an expert, it looks like a deep scratch with a magnifier as the deeper channels are not touched.

You know what's funny is everytime I email my contact at Dillon Gage, their update changes to something significant within an hour. The first time I called him he had their web-team change the date from Jan 3rd sales to Jan 7th. Then the next time I emailed him on the 7th within 30 min later it changed to a later date. And now when I emailed him this morning it changes to "Contact will be made." Makes me wonder if he's calling the shots. =X
Just got my FideliTrade sets. The coins were packaged individually in just bubble wrap inside a Fedex cardboard envelope inside another Fedex soft bubble wrap envelope. All of them are prooflike or look prooflike. Going to NGC tomorrow for grading. About $550 for grading all 10 of them. Never did their imaging before but its only $3 a coin so will give it a shot. Ranges are from 67 to 69. We shall see.
<< <i>yes it did but i have had packages show up before the "expected" delivery date. just wondering if anyone got them quicker. >>
Mine were shipped on the 2nd with delivery on the 8th. I received them on the 4th. However, I am in Idaho and the weather was good between here and CA last week.

Was the bubble wrap taped well? Could the coins have fallen out? Mine are going clear across the country and am a little nervous.

Whats this waiting list? When and where was that? Maybe I missed the boat on that but its getting confusing keeping all these APs straight over the course of two months.

You know if you are going to do it right, you are going to have to collect those ms69s for the next 10 years. Should be easier with the higher mintages though.
The coins were all flat in the envelope side by side so they did not move around. They were in individual bubble wrap kind of like flips that were self sealing. The coins were secure enough. Mine only traveled from DE to Baltimore, so I got them the next day.
I would send them to PCGS but they warrant a shot of Prooflike. I don't think PCGS will designate them as prooflike, since they did not do the designation with the UHR. I wish they would.

Yeah the packaging from Fidelitrade is pretty ghetto. My Yosemite has got an obvious milkspot on Georges check and a big old gouge in the reverse. Looks bad. Grand Canyon has a bunch of pock marks on the reverse. The other three look pretty good. What causes a milkspot anyway?

IF you think that they'd make PCGS 69 you're better off w/that (so far at least). The PCGS 69s are about 25% higher than the 69PLs.

The wash that The Mint uses is the current guess. I think that PCGS put a substantial prize to anyone who figured it out.

<< <i>All I am saying is the NGC early release is actually an early release not just some label that ALL PCGS coins qualify for.

I only hope they were trying for a reference grading set. At least they got it with the Yosemites.
<< <i>Just got mine back from pcgs too. The 2 coins were part of an mtb set that had some real problems on 3 of them. The 5 was an entire set of Amarks. I'm very happy. I got a whole set of 69's out of the deal

<< <i>So...if there was going to be an NGC or PCGS 70s, they probably would have shown up already. Agree or Disagree? >>
My coins just made it to the graders, so I will let you know if a week or so...

<< <i>I think the scratch was on the planchet before it was stamped.... >>
Would that affect the grade negatively?

Too early to make the call, but I have my doubts of NGC or PCGS 70s surfacing.
<< <i>
<< <i>Just curious how people are planning to collect these pucks, if collect them at all. Complete MS69 set? MS68 or lower? NGC or PCGS? All ERs, all PLs? Raw, holdered as BU? and so on. I'm debating which way I want to go >>
I hope to be able to complete one PCGS MS69 set and hold for awhile. >>
Same for me.

<< <i>I wanted to keep a set of 69's too...but...if it will sell for what I consider 'moon money'...I'll just have to go that route. >>
Can someone define moon money? I would say 10K is moon money.

I received my AMark shipping notification today and the email included the expected delivery date of 2/14. Did your email not include an ETA?
I hate to keep asking the same thing, but I'm sure my comment gets buried under other comments about grading and such.

We are just guessing based on zero news from them.

Mine were shipped on the 2nd with delivery on the 8th. I received them on the 4th. However, I am in Idaho and the weather was good between here and CA last week.
<< <i>Just got my FideliTrade sets. >>

The 69s are still bringing good money, but the moon money is about two weeks past. They're about half what they were and falling.

<< <i>The coins were all flat in the envelope side by side so they did not move around. They were in individual bubble wrap kind of like flips that were self sealing. The coins were secure enough. Mine only traveled from DE to Baltimore, so I got them the next day.

IF you think that they'd make PCGS 69 you're better off w/that (so far at least). The PCGS 69s are about 25% higher than the 69PLs.

The wash that The Mint uses is the current guess. I think that PCGS put a substantial prize to anyone who figured it out.
<< <i>I don't understand why PCGS gives PL to a Morgan but not the UHR or potentially these. >>
Am I correct in my understanding that they don't give "PL" designations to moderns?
Not saying I agree or disagree with that.
