On these bullion finishes, I find die polish to be more visually detracting than dings or scratches. Of the ten coins I've received so far, only three are die polish free. Both of my Mount Hood coins have hazy skies! The Mint must have used Brillo pads on the dies.
now that tGC has proven you can virtually flip off the Mint and their rules, any AP could stop selliing to the public at any time. Nothing will happen.
There are hopes that APMEX will come through, and maybe Coins n Things.
And the others that haven't officially sold out may have more sales in the future.
What do you make out of this, I was doing a search for coins. I noticed the top set had one minute left, two bids that amounted $1600. However as the clock is counting down, both bids where removed and auction ended with no bidders. Can you remove bidders on teh last minute from your auction?
<< <i>We have a couple of non paying ATB ebayers to post, but gonna give them a few more days until NPB's are closed. One MS68 set and another that won three MS69 sets.

John-
Thanks very much for listing these no-pays when you're finished with the NPB. What a hurt! I've just never seen such wholesale poor buyer behavior.
I have looked at both my A-Mark and FideliTrade orders which came today and have decided.... That FideliTrade's were better. My Hot Spring and Grand Canyon were almost completely die polish free and were a mirror, I now know what people meant by seeing themselves in the coin, I can see myself in all mine, but I can truly see myself in these two from FideliTrade, they are extremely mirrored. I haven't found a scratch on any from FideliTrade though a few smudges, while I have found a couple of scratches on A-Marks. The bubble wrap bags didn't move around during shipping and they remained flat despite my concerns. I think if you are receiving FideliTrade coins there isn't much need to worry about the shipping, I thought they would be melt after I heard how they shipped them, but they are really great. The PCGS slabs may be distorting my view of the A-Marks, since you can't really match viewing them raw as I was able to do with FideliTrade's but I can definitely see a lot of die polish.
The quality from AP's appears to be irrelevant though since they are all mingled and shipped 100 to a box so anybody could get a coin produced at the beginning and the end, this is just my report on my orders.
Just to add, I think they are wonderful and much better than expected, with all the people ragging on them though that's not hard to do. The design does fill the coin and I think it works for the size. The giant quarter obverse is what all the non collectors I have shown it to like as well as the beauty of the parks that is showcased by the size. I think the idea of owning a giant quarter may help the collectibility, that is the initial reason I wanted one myself.
UPS attempted signature delivery to my home yesterday, and will try (and fail) again today. I'm thinking Fidelitrade order? I hope the contents aren't damaged with all the extra back and forth... requiring home address is a real pain for those of us with day jobs.

Can I retract Bid? Answer: Listing ends in less than 12 hours Yes, but only if you retract the bid within one hour of placing it When you retract the bid, we remove only your most recent bid. Bids you placed prior to the last 12 hours of the listing are not removed.
BUT, actually it looks like the Seller cancelled the Bids. Might be a way to make it look like he's not shill bidding, if he's cancelling them...of course I have no idea of why things went that way.

I would just take a well deserved sick day and wait for my coins if you don't want them sent back.
Robert Chambers says they are producing the 2011 Bullion Versions one design at a time and releasing one design at a time. So there probably won't be any whole 2011 sets for sale right away unless the APs wait til the end of the year to sell. Do you think the 9 APs want to sell these as singles. I don't think it will be worth their effort. My guess is you will probably have to buy an entire roll. The dynamics of the 2011 sets will be completely different than the 2010s. I wonder if Amark will offer BU PCGS Slabs of the 2011 sets?
I am sure Gettysburg will be a popular one. Makes me think I may want to just go after the ones that interest me and have the designs I like than purchasing entire sets each year. Since I am from Maryland, the Fort McHenry is definitely on my list. If you purchase early there may be a better chance to get the prooflikes. This year will be interesting for the 2011s.
My last two Amark sets are coming on Monday. I am done with the 2010s Bullion versions. All my sets have mirrored finishes, whether they are proof like I really don't know. 10 coins went to NGC to try to get the PL designation. We shall see and will post my results here.
<< UPS attempted signature delivery to my home yesterday, and will try (and fail) again today. I'm thinking Fidelitrade order? I hope the contents aren't damaged with all the extra back and forth... requiring home address is a real pain for those of us with day jobs.
I have picked up both UPS and Fedex packages from their main facilities. If you don't have tracking for your UPS just wait til they put the notice on your door, it should have the tracking info. Just call them and tell them you want to hold the package at the facility for pick up. Just have a photo ID and the tracking number if the package is mailed in your name. If somebody's else's name you have to have that person pick it up.
<<The FideliTrades are still in their bubble wrap, will have to get the gloves out later. Am a little scared handling them until their airtites arrive. >>
I also have an unopened Fidelitrade envelope on my table...were their coins actually shipped without holders?!?!?
<< <i>I got mine. If MS-69 means no flaws to the unaided eye, I don't have to worry about that.
I did get one mirrored George. Another George already has a green spot. >>
You do have to develop "the eye" before you can see the flaws. When I first started collecting moderns a few years ago I would look at a coin and think it was flawless, and send it in to PCGS and have it come back MS65.
FideliTrade did send them in only bubble wrap but as said earlier they appear fine and I think they are better than my A-Marks. Although I think the PCGS plastic may be part of the culprit as it is hard to see how mirrored they are. The FideliTrade coins amazingly did not move in shipping and the way the two envelopes were folded and taped made it quite sturdy.

As I'm sure is known or would be quickly figured out but just some advice. When opening FideliTrade's stick the adhesive of the envelope to the table then turn the bag over so there is no risk of getting the glue on the coins. Or cut them out.
Rushing to do a bunch of things, so I've not caught up on the posts since last night, so sorry if repeat info....
Quick observations on mine and my Dad's F Trades sets:
- WORST packaging by far. They were packed such that the edge of on coin can bang against the edge of other save for the thin bubble-wrap bag (not like the thick APMEX bubble wrap bags). That said, I could see no marks from such contact on any coin.
- Most were nice and proof like. Far more significant marks on the coins than my others. Likely luck of the draw as has been pointed out before. Definitely won't get my PCGS 69 MH here.
- I think that 7/10 will get NCG 69, likely 3 or so PL.
- All going to NGC for ER grading today as Mon. is the cut-off and I KNOW that neither MH will never grade 69 at PCGS
- My Air-Tites arrived today via USPS Next Day just in time. Kudos to Air Tite for the great service. They are just fantastic to deal with. The coins will go in the Air-Tites and back into the bubble wraps from F Trade.
- For those wishing to sell the F Trade sets sealed, there is nothing on the invoice that should be of concern with respect to the buyer seeing it. In fact, it doesn't even have you name on it.
- F Trade was smart to use this as a business opportunity. There is a Special Offer for Silver eagles on the invoice. I can tell you that I will be giving all of my bullion business - and will suggest same to my partners - to F Trade, A Mark and MTB. Possibly DG as well, if it becomes clear that they're selling mostly to the public.
- One of the MHs has a gouge on the reverse which extends into the 20 in 2010. It was clearly on the planchet as it's also in the incurse portions of the date.
- One GC and one MH are hosed. Bad surface marks abound. Not going to NGC. Might literally use as pocket pieces. We'll see how far the raw coins fall.
