Funny how Stalin was nowhere to found after last night's game, LOL! Oh yeah, he was making excuses, that's right! My Bad! LOL!

Mets fan Grote15 gave a nice Hello, Mets fan WinPitcher gave a nice Hello, then why can't Mets fan Lawnmowerman give a nice, friendly, cheerful, enthusiastic, heartfelt, loving Hello?
Lets be honest here, if the Mets beat the Phillies with the Phillies missing 3 or 4 starters someone here would be saying it took extra innings to beat them.
<< <i>Lets be honest here, if the Mets beat the Phillies with the Phillies missing 3 or 4 starters someone here would be saying it took extra innings to beat them.
Or how they won by only 1 run. (game 2)
The Phillies won fair and square (this series)
Steve >>
Let's not forget the Mets got beat in their house, and also let's not forget that the Mets knew they needed this series bad to get back into contention. Frankly, the Mets played hard and I give them credit for that, but playing hard and getting beat in your own house when they really needed some wins to get back nearer to first place, I believe says that they are in deep DEEP trouble.
And also let's not forget that "injuries" are all a part of signing the wrong players...mercenary players who don't often have the motivation to play when nicked up a little bit - they'd rather go on the injured list and get some time in on the golf course.
<< <i>You mean like Brad 'blow another save' Lidge?
Steve >>
Bad example - Lidge had a helluva season last year and you know that so stop being silly...the Phillies had to fight him like a wild horse to place him on the disabled list.
I think Lidge kinda blew out his arm as pitchers sometimes and often do...and he was trying to pitch through the injured knee - he wasn't slacking, he just wasn't pitching good enough...it doesn't take much at this level if losing just a little movement or velocity on the ball, then MLB batters will crush you...and that's I believe what has happened more than the knee problem although that is a part of it - I think the rest will help him and hopefully he'll get back to speed before the season is over - but it's tough to predict a pitcher's arm.
IS ANYONE IN PHILLY HOOKING UP MR IBANEZ WITH PEDs?
Let's see ... he's 37 yrs old.
Could his physical strength be peaking at this age? Nah.
Maybe his eyesight is getting better? Don't think so.
Is his hand/eye coordination improving? At 37 yrs old it's a stretch.
He's playing in a cozier park? Yes, but his away power numbers are about the same.
Prior to this year his career his AB/HR ratio was 26.32/1
This year it is 11.09/1
THAT, my friends, is a HUGE difference. Don't you think?
I, for one, hope that he is just getting better ... but do you really think that is the case?
BTW ... Sillies played better than the Mets the past 3 games and deserved to win 2 of 3.
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
We must respectfully project the Phillies to easily win the NL East. We just don't see any other team that can catch this exciting, powerful ballclub. We believe that their fans are not hypocrites, therefore they were blessed with a spectacular season last year. Just as the all loving Red Sox fans have been recently blessed. Peace be with you my fellow comrads to the south. May you enjoy a wonderful series with the club from Boston. Best of luck to you !
<< <i>Ibanez is playing well because he loves being a part of the greatest team of the 21st century...it's called being motivated. >>
SteveK ... you are smarter than that ... so all you need to be is MOTIVATED and you can hit 2.5 times the HRs that you usually do? NAH ... ain't buyin dat one! lol

are not the same. I'll explain it one more time to you since you seem so dumb.
You guys were in the Yankee thread all by yourselves , here
Stevek and the Met fans have been going back and forth since it's inception.
Why is it only you among the Sox fans don't understand that? Oh I know maybe it is you
that is the only one without any class or smarts for that matter.
Stevek.......hello, your team took 2 of 3 and I salute that.
