I think with a little hard work and dedication, Lidge might be able to get tht ERA under 7.50.

Of course, i told you from the first homer Diaz jacked off of him early this year that he was gonna be back to the lidge that got ran out of Houston.

Lidge is reminding me of Mitch now, last year you just knew the guy was going to throw strikes and mow down 3 in a row, this year
you don't know if he is going to throw 8 balls in a row!

Rollins needs to get it going to, the big guys behind him are hitting them out, they need some base runners now!

I think Yankees fans should also say "Hello" as well seeing that the Phillies made a meal out of the Yankees on Friday night.

What a freakin' hypocrite this guy is. He blasts Red Sox fans for invading Yankee threads when the Yankees lose,
yet he invades the Phillies thread and does exactly what he was crying about with us. What a loser.

Well, back to the drawing board. Maybe its time to just start lobbing underhand. At this point it couldnt be much worse.

Kevin, no we can't. I don't mind be called out but what I did and what they were doing
    was two very different things.

In the Yanks thread at least 15 posts in a row were Sox fans, No Yankee fans at all were posting.

Here in this case we have been going back and forth since the thread started.

I'd expect even a jackass like fitzgerald to see the difference.

    Now back to the thread.....

    Steve

    Good for you.

Im not sure what Manuel is thinking, Lidge is not getting it done and this game should of been over a long time ago. Madson is a beast and
should be our closer. Cole was in Cy Young form against a great line up. Even with Utley on the shelf we got it done. Thanks for letting us
    invade Yankee stadium!

Mercenaries like third place - then at the end of the season they get to go home and spend time in their mansions and yachts, without having to play all those "boring" extra baseball games after the end of the regular season when it might be chilly outside. Why would a multi-millionaire mercenary want to play baseball in cold weather?

Mayberry stays on the roster for now -

"John Mayberry Jr., who hit a three-run homer in his major-league debut Saturday, will remain with the Phillies, Charlie Manuel said yesterday.

"Mayberry's going to stay here a while," Manuel said. "How long is up to Big John."

The 6-foot-6 Mayberry, called up from triple-A Lehigh Valley for Saturday's game, went 0 for 5 yesterday. He gives the Phillies a needed righthanded batter."

There is one thing I realized watching these interleague games. One is that the AL Pitchers can go much longer into the game, as there is a need in the NL
to bat for the pitcher in close games. Also if the Phils played in AL you could tack on another 10-30 HR's. Imagine a Stairs or Mayberry Jr. added to the line up everynight.

    Scary

Im not sure what the heck Chuck is doing, it is clear that Lidge can't hit the side of a U haul truck right now. Madson is the best reliver on the staff yet is only
pitching a few outs. His old school BS is really getting on my nerves. Flawless 8 innings almost blown again cause Chuck wants to build Lidge's confidence.
Enough with that, we already let the Yanks off the hook once, can't do it against divison foes.

Cy Blanton looked great. Will the Phils ever lose first place.

Ummm, they lost it a week ago and will lose it again...with that pitching staff you can't win, no way...good thing you're playing Fla...since the middle of April they've been the worst team in baseball! LOL!!

2 things strike me funny Grote

    1) Marlins have OWNED the Mets in recent times, if anything you guys should be thanking us for beating them down.
    2) You mention the pitching, but Blanton (our #4 pitcher) just went 7 innings 0 ER 11k's, those numbers are Santana like!

Someone will knock some sense into Chuck and the closer situation will fix itself. This Philly team is WAAAAY to good!

LOL, and his ERA is still over 6.00 even with that lucky game! Guess he's even worse than I thought...like I said, Sillies don't have the pitching to compete this season!!

Oh, and by the way, our #5 starter pitched a CG giving up only 1 run, so by your logic he's also Santana-like? What a tool! LOL!!

I knew the Phillies were going to "bounce" off that series with the Yankees. No big deal - Phillies will be back on top real soon.
