I think Tito doesnt want to completely destroy Papi's confidence, Im not sure how much longer he will keep him in that spot but I have to believe its a show of his confidence more than anything. However if it were up to me I would bat him 7th or 8th to take the pressure off him and see how that goes.
How about the Herald making small talk about the Sox/Yanks not being as much of a rivalry in years past? Screw that, I am ALWAYS amped up for that series and get 100% joy out of beating them, I couldnt care less if they are in last place and no threat the hatred remains strong always!
I had a short road trip to Orlando yesterday but was fortunate enough to see the game from about the 4th inning on (right after Varitek hit the slam). What a fun game to watch. I am glad to be back at home to hopefully watch the sweep tonight!
<< <i>Straight steal of home by Ellsbury & a 2 out RBI by JD Drew!
>>
Wasn't that great? I blame Angel Berroa. He was like 30 feet from the bag when Ellsbury took off. >>
it takes a nap by an entire team to let that happen: Pettitte, Berroa, Posada, Girardi, and the entire Yankee bench who watched a couple pitches before the steal
<< <i>What does it say about the confidence in JD Drew that they stole home with the bases loaded, 2 out and him up. LOL. I loved it. >>
ha! Drew just had to get a hit after whiffing twice on a total of six pitches and then having Youkilis intentionally walked in front of him to load the bases AND THEN having a kid steal home plate while he's at bat!
What cracked me up was Jon Sterling speculating whether Pay-Rod would have made a difference in the series. Yeah sure, if Pay-Rod can pitch 98 MPH fastballs.
While watching the replay of the steal (over and over) one thing struck me that I didn't notice at the time. Watch JD Drew's reaction . . . or lack thereof. There is none. Seriously, that was one of the coolest things ever and the guy can't even crack a smile. I know he's got some talent and every once in a while he comes through and surprises us, but right there, in a nutshell, is why I'll never fully accept Drew.
Blew made an appearance, looked annoyed that he had to carry a bat to the plate. Didn't need it, did he? I'd imagine Theo is figuring out how much of Blew's salary he will have to pay when he trades him away this year
Papelbon, for someone who sucks, seems to have good results.

I have been saying this since day 1, he has ZERO heart and let me say it again- he could hit a game winning HR or K with the bases juiced or hit into game ending double play with the winning run on third and he will show ZERO emotion! The guy has the world by the balls being a MLB player and acts like its no big deal ALL the time. What a waste.
Brad Penny is not good. Not good at all. How did he win 90+ in the NL? Used to be good I guess.
Julio Luso has even less range than Derek Jeter. Or he just doesn't care for lateral movement.
The bats seem to be working in all slots in the order, which will help make up for lack of control and straight, middle of the plate fastballs by Penny
here's a pleasant surprise: JD Blew is not in the lineup tonight. Injured vagina again.
Unfortunately, Youkilis is out too. Team says he's sore from getting hit by a pitch yesterday, but truth is likely that he blew out an artery in rage over the inability to catch a perfectly-thrown baseball demonstrated by both Luso and Timlin-Lopez

Another fantastic pitching performance by Wake.

<< <i>Where is our sad little sidedish that nobody ordered Fanof390?

Nobody really cares what the clown has to say anyway!
<< <i>Julio Luso's return tonight >>
It borderline enrages me that they are going to plug him in and take out Green, the kid is starting to gain confidence and come up with some big hits.
Sorry but I think Tito is an idiot for even entertaining this.
Hmmm, but don't you think Boston fans need an idiotic manager so that he's easy to relate to??

This game has the makings of another 4 or 5 hour affair.
I scored a pair of free tix.

Please tell Big Poopie that he killed my fantasy team the first two weeks and he is now riding pine in favor of Kaz Matsui!
Have a great time!

Errors from bad hops are understandable -- those are inexcusable.
But we could blame management too. They should never have let Lugo back onto the field.
Blew
Javier Timlin-Lopez
Brad "not worth a" Penny
Please dispose of properly.
(edit: forgot to add Penny!)
