Hopefully the Phillies will run into the Beckett buzzsaw!
  • Options

Sunday's game could be interesting. The Phillies should be due to break out of their hitting woes. If Beckett is as sharp as he
has been, then one force will have to give way.

    Stevek...

Helluva catch by Victorino on Youk's deep flyball...if he'd missed it would have cleared the bases.

I thought it was pathetic and major bush-league for the Philly fans to cheer when Drew got hit...total BS to me!!!

Here's something to ponder before the game today...BecKKKKKKKett.

    Enjoy da game.

Why does Philly have such an bad record at home, but the major league's best on the road? I thought that's kind of odd!

Phils picked up on something with Beckett in that 5th inning rally.

    Good series.

I didn't know the 2008 Beckett had power.

The Phillies have had a terrible time holding leads after big innings lately.

Heh, good to see Beckett atone for his bad inning at the plate!

Beckett certainly sucked today, maybe the offense can spark in the last two innings?
  • Options
I don't know if everyone noticed, but if Baldelli played too deep in right and it cost us today. Drew would have
caught three balls that Baldelli let drop. It cost us two runs in that big inning they had.

    Sox meltdown ?

Taking 5 out of 6 from the Yankees and Phillies is not too shabby.

Did anyone see our schedule for July ? So many home games.

Agreed, We need to be very happy with our last 5 gamrs beating tough Yankee & Phillie squads. Im not suprised we had to expect at least one loss- stinks that it has to be with Beckett, the one guy we all thought would come through.

Either way, Im happy with the way we have been playing image

Nice bounceback win today by the Phillies - perhaps we've seen a preview of the two teams going to the 2009 WS?

I guess the pitchers were due for a stinker. And Beckett can still claim he did better than Santana today! image

Often a good team like the Phillies will bounce back the next game after putting together a stinker the previous game - The Phillies were at full adrenaline today and there was basically nothing the Red Sox could do about it. The Red Sox impressed me this series...an excellent baseball team for sure, and again...perhaps we meet again in the WS.

Irrational thought. One game has nothing to do with the next game, zip, zero, nada. I wouldn't exactly call the Phillies performance a stinker in the previous game.

    - The Phillies were at full adrenaline today and there was basically nothing the Red Sox could do about it.

Gee, another clever comment. Had there been a few base runners when the Red Sox hit their 3 homers, and had Beckett been in better control, I suspect your team would have been swept. "Nothing the Red Sox could do about it"?? Give me a break, that's about the nuttiest thing I've heard.

I doubt you'll make it to the WS, your bullpen will be your downfall.

Al, no worries Steve REALLY didnt meen those comments or in the very least he might have been still drunk from the previous two nights when his Sillies got smacked around by the Sox- at any rate the only time SteveK is 100% serious is when a post of his is followed by a "Case Closed" or a "Its not even debatable"

Perkdog has to remember not to drink while he's posting.
He can get very MEEN when people say MEEN things about his Red Sox.

"Okay time to bust out the whoopin sticks on the Marlins tonight!"

Yup, with Tim 4.50 ERA Wakefield on the mound, you're gonna need some whoopin sticks. Better ask the grounds crew to rake the Warning Track too.

In the AL a 4.50 ERA is pretty darn good.

Wakefield is 28th in the AL for ERA (qualified pitchers).

Are you f*ing kidding? - Man you don't have a clue about player motivation in sports...I mean not a single clue. And you have absolutely no clue about how bookies make odds, and they definitely factor in circumstances such as what was mentioned by me - that is a fact. So I guess you're saying the Vegas bookies don't know what they're doing? Let me tell ya something clueless, the Vegas bookies know exactly what they're doing....and don't bet against it. LOL

    Stevek...

Grow up and get a friggin clue....screw the bookies and whatever else you were babbling about. You made the comment that your wonderful team was so juiced on adrenaline that the Red Sox could do nothing about it. What a pile of BS!!

Apparently your team ran out of all that adrenaline last night and got their asses handed to them.

If you wanna start a war with me...BRING IT ON. If you wanna start name calling BRING IT ON.

Stick to yor own thread over there about the Phillies...perhaps you can spend some more of your time explaining how they allowed the Jays to hose you last night. OTOH, I guess the Red Sox team found their adrenaline last night, unlike your pathetic team.
