Five packs of 1977 Topps football purchased from BBCE for $25 per pack. Packs were a bit of a dud no HOF RCs.

<< <i>2008 Topps Heritage box. Hoping for an autograph but unfortunately that didn't happen. I liked the 2001 Heritage much better but the odds of pulling an auto are too low to justify the price I see out there for boxes. Might do it just for nostalgia stake. I wish I had known about SPs and stuff before I threw those 2001 cards away. First one to PM me gets all the singles, save for the scanned cards, from the 2008 Heritage box. I threw away some that had really bent corners so about 150 cards or so overall. >>

As a Rangers fan who enjoyed our first WS appearance this year, that Texiera Braves card brough a warm smile to my face.

Robb, Love that Orr card. Even though those are some ugly cards it was my first Orr card that I collected as a kid and brings back memories. Good luck with future rips.

One of my best subs ever with PSA and super fast turnaround time...the grader loved the 86 Fleer cards, didn't like the other cards quite as much.
I picked up #37, 38 & 39 at the Chantilly show over the summer. Paid $20 for the Favre, $1 for the Cummins and $10 for the Worthy.
I needed a bunch of the 86 Fleer for my self submitted PSA 9 set (have 102/132 before this sub).
Will update previous posts with grades.

Rob, are you building PSA 9 and PSA 10 86 Fleer sets or are you doing to dump all the 9's to buy more packs?

wow nice run of 9's and 10's in the 1986... PM if you are going to move any of the 9's I'd be interested if I need them for my 9 set.

I have been building a self submitted PSA 9 86 Fleer basketball set for years. Before this sub I had 102 of the 132 cards in PSA 9. With this submission I will be able to add:

    1986 FLEER 7 CHARLES BARKLEY
    1986 FLEER 6 THURL BAILEY
    1986 FLEER 27 JOE DUMARS
    1986 FLEER 93 CLIFF ROBINSON
    1986 FLEER 26 CLYDE DREXLER
    1986 FLEER 90 ROBERT REID
    1986 FLEER 23 WALTER DAVIS
    1986 FLEER 21 ADRIAN DANTLEY
    1986 FLEER 87 RICKY PIERCE
    1986 FLEER 19 PAT CUMMINGS
    1986 FLEER 92 ALVIN ROBERTSON
    1986 FLEER 12 MANUTE BOL
    1986 FLEER 110 LaSALLE THOMPSON
    1986 FLEER 43 BILL HANZLIK
    1986 FLEER 109 ISIAH THOMAS
    1986 FLEER 41 DAVE GREENWOOD

So this was a pretty amazing sub for adding to my 86 Fleer set. Of course I also bought basically 19 packs from BBCE in the last 4 months so they didn't exactly come cheap. I imagine when it is all said and done I will have spent 25-30k in 86 Fleer packs to put this thing together. I have only been tracking my spending on cards since 2007. In 2007 I bought 8 86/87 Fleer packs, in 2008 I bought 14 86/87 Fleer packs, in 2009 I bought 17 86/87 Fleer packs and this year I've bought 19 86/87 Fleer packs. Of those 19 packs I have 5 sitting unopened. I've been buying and opening 86 Fleer packs since 2000 when I got back into collecting. I've opened well over two boxes worth of packs in the last decade.

Over the years I have gotten PSA 10s on about 60% of the entire 86 Fleer set. I have sold everyone of the 10s. Five years ago you could pay for the entire pack with one PSA 10 or a couple PSA 9s which is definitely no longer the case. In retrospect it would have been pretty cool to build PSA 9 and PSA 10 sets via self submissions/pack pulls.

Awesome results on those 86 fleers. Does the percentage of 9's vs 10's in the packs you've opened (and submitted) match the percentage overall of 86 fleer cards in the pop report. Or do you think your results have been better than average?

I'm not quite a high roller yet, I've never opened one pack. I'm kind of suprised they haven't gone up in price by now to $375 or 400 or a little higher. It seems like the supply keeps going down as more get opened up. The cards have gone down in price. I remember when the Jordan 9 was, what $2,000? But it seems like the supply of those is going to be zero one of these days.

For the record, I would do EXACTLY what you are doing if I had the $$.

But for the love of God, I'm begging you, please stop with the 79 opc hockey wax packs. I swear I'm about to send you one of my Gretzky rookies just to make you stop wasting so much money on those packs.

Okay, I'm good now. Just had to get that out in the open. As you were.

As soon as I purchase a PSA 9 OPC Gretzky I will stop opening 79 OPC packs. I had the $$s in my pocket at the National this year for one but I didn't find one. Found one dealer that had one but didn't bring it with him.
Going to open a bunch of stuff I bought myself for Christmas since I won't be around tomorrow.

One box of 2000 Pacific football purchased from BBCE for $45. I am going to put together a Tom Brady PSA RC collection and would like to have a couple cards that I pulled and submitted. The Brady has a dinged bottom right corner that keeps it from a PSA 9 holder. Also adding a scan of a 2000 Pacific Brady auto card I recently picked up on eBay.

However the 2011 Heritage is looking really nice with a strong auto lineup so will probably buy a case or so of boxes during 2011.

Three packs of 1980 OPC hockey purchased from BBCE for $65 per pack. Still need a Goulet in PSA 9 for my PC, the quest continues. The centering on these packs wasn't very good and the few centered cards all had corner issues so nothing from this rip will be sent to PSA.

    Sick box!

the reason they put the bowman chromes in the topps chrome packs this year is because they did not release a bowman chrome set on its own, and wanted this years rookie crop to have bowman chrome rookie cards
