Unopened Rips - Jordan RC review bump

fergie23fergie23 Posts: 2,094 ✭✭✭✭
So I decided to consolidate my card rips to one thread. I buy a fair amount of unopened product and I will post my rips and then any PSA card submission results.

Sadly no big hits...but I think I might be addicted. Very fun pack to open. Don't think any of the cards are better than an 8 but for $5 a piece with the current PSA special I will find out.

It's hard to see from the scans, but maybe he might get lucky and get a 8.5 grade on one of them. That would certainly help him a bunch.

What's next...I have a 1971 Topps Football pack gai graded. A box of 2008 Topps Heritage baseball, a box of 2008 SPX football and a box of 2006 Playoff Contenders football (got the three boxes from my local card shop today for a little over $300 could have gotten them cheaper online but I'm an instant gratification kind of guy). I also have 2 gai graded 1986-87 Fleer basketball packs on the way.

I'll rip the football tomorrow during the games.

The 71 baseball rip was definitely worth it. I'll be looking for more packs.

2006 Playoff Contenders was hoping for a Cutler. Unfortunately no dice. The Hester probably would have a been a hotter card last year but with his transition to a wide receiver his return game has suffered dramatically. I've bought a couple boxes of this and really I should just buy the star rookies off ebay at this point would undoubtedly save me some $$s.

2008 Topps Heritage box. Hoping for an autograph but unfortunately that didn't happen. I liked the 2001 Heritage much better but the odds of pulling an auto are too low to justify the price I see out there for boxes. Might do it just for nostalgia stake. I wish I had known about SPs and stuff before I threw those 2001 cards away. First one to PM me gets all the singles, save for the scanned cards, from the 2008 Heritage box. I threw away some that had really bent corners so about 150 cards or so overall.

    2008 Heritage cards are history.

Now on to 2008 SPX football. This was the priciest box and it was a total dud unfortunately.

Bummer on the SPX, I was hoping you'd get a big pull there. The Contenders are tough too. I broke two 2007 boxes a couple weeks ago and the only one worth mentioning was Tyler Thigpen.

Thanks. I will try and post all my rips. With a thread of my own I am much more likely to put in the effort to scan rips that go poorly.

I am going to save the 71 fb pack for tomorrow.

Well I got my two 1986 Fleer basketball packs in the mail today (paid $409 plus shipping for them). Unfortunately for one of the packs the top card is visible and is Sedale Threatt so I basically know what is in that pack. I will open the other pack (with Olajuwon sticker) today and save the Threatt pack for some day when I feel like burning $200.

I will scan in 4 cards at a time from the sticker up.

Overall very happy with this pack. The centering was an issue but that is common for 86 Fleer. Pretty much the second best pack, star power wise, you can get from an 86 Fleer rip.

I think most of the cards are PSA 8s but for $5 a card I will find out what PSA thinks with 6 or 7 of them.

I will do the 71 Football pack some time later this week.
