    Guys,

FYI - LT just started signing again. Mail it to him care of the HOF (which is how I sent my GLA last year) and they will forward it to him. For around 9 months, requests were being returned RTS, as LT must have moved and not informed the HOF. It seems the Hall now has his new address and requests are starting to come back.

Also - Billy Shaw just started signing TTM. He signs for free but requests that you send a donation to a charity that he sponsors.

    Rgs,

    Greg M.

    John,

Where did you get your Munchak rc signed? He doesn't sign TTM and I haven't seen him sign at any shows recently.....

I don't want to know what I've spent!

Nice Cornell pic! I saw him 2 weeks ago in Indy. I also saw him with Audioslave a couple years back, another time right before his 2nd solo album, and last summer opening for Linkin Park. God I miss Soundgarden, but he does still put on a killer show!

Nice additions Greg! I love the Nitshcke!

Two more for me today. I honestly didn't think the Dudley would come back! I sent it out because he was signing at the Chantilly Show but unfortunately canceled due to his health. It came back with a note saying the had done a private signing last week!

    Reese,

LR Selmon has taken forever so far...from at least mid March. I gave a 10 donation...which seems to do the trick. I'm dropping my Bob Griese rc in the mail today along with 3 other cards plus a $40 donation (and a new sharpie!!!).

I just received my order back from PSA...I think both of these cards cracked my top 5 favorite auto'd cards in my collection.

    Hey Greg,

I got the Selmon on ebay already signed for $6. Can't beat that! I got 5 requests in the mail now and Raymond Berry to send out today.

Congrats again on the Ford and Unitas! I don't think people realize just how tough Len Ford signatures are too find on any medium. I know the signature I have took me months to track down. I've only seen one other 55 Bowman autographed, and it was the one Frank bought and had rejected PSA. Great addition!

Thanks Reese! You're not going to believe the following story. At the end of April, I sent Chuck Bednarik a 1948 Exhibit card along with $10 and a letter in which I thanked him for the free items he sent as conciliation for losing my 1948 Leaf and 1961 Fleer cards. Over the past week, I've been getting very worried that I haven't gotten my 1948 Exhibit card - and have been fearing the worst - that CB received my letter and was somehow upset with me.

Low and behold - last Saturday I received my 1948 Exhibit card (signed beautifully in blue sharpie) plus he returned my 1948 Leaf and 1961 Fleer cards signed also in blue sharpie. Unreal! He included a note which said that he found that and was sorry for "having goofed". I literally screamed in delight when I saw the card and can't believe that he found and returned the cards. Thank god I sent the 1948 Exhibit card to be signed...otherwise I might never have seen my 48 Leaf and 61 Fleer cards again!

Anyways - that's my happy story for the day.

    Take care and talk soon.

    Rgs,

    Greg m.

Arghhh....Not a happy camper today! I got this back from the post office in a dreaded "we care" envelope. The envelope and top loader were mangled. My PSA 7 Joe Greene now has significant damage at the top left and a nice crease on the lower left corner.

    image

And to top it off, I lost this PSA/DNA Joe Stydahar RC! I thought I had it won at $421 but I guess not. Stydahar is a pretty tough autograph to locate since he died in 1977, so this would have been a huge addition to my set.

Hmmm... Nope I didn't see that one up for auction. The price seems about right, but I know I've seen others out there. Halas was a pretty good signer so I'm sure there will be other opportunities to find a signed RC. I'm personally am only going after players inducted, and leaving out coaches/admin for the time being.

    Reese,

Nice pickups - but that's too bad about the Joe Greene! Unreal. At least the autograph looks nice, but the card looks like it was nawed on by a small rodent.

Sorry that you lost the Stydahar....that would have been a sweet pickup!

I was kinda bummed, too. I put a placeholder bid in and set my snipe for $426.52 and it couldn't execute because the bid had been exceeded. I figured there'd be some late action, especially because the condition of the card looks solid enough to grade. Didn't think I'd miss out on it, though... image

The funny part was that the Stydahar was listed 2 times before this with an opening bid of $599. After the second time the auction ended without selling, I told the seller I would pay full price for it as long as she would list the card as a BIN so that I could use my ebay coupon and MSN discount. She refused and told me that she didn't want to list it as a BIN and was going to keep it! Low and behold she relists it a couple weeks later and would have made $175 if she just would have done what I asked!

That seller was a very strange bird. I e-mailed her 2 months ago asking whether we could work out a deal. She sent me a rambling e-mail trying to convince how how tough of a card the Stydahar was to find autographed. I already knew that....I just wanted to negotiate the price!

I wonder why she didn't want to list the card as a BIN...very strange. It may have been because the FVF is higher for a BIN than a regular auction. Even if true, I'd gladly pay an add'l $5 to $10 in fees for an extra $175 bump in price.

I definitely don't need that right nowimage

I was just curious. My biggest pet peeve since we went to the new Registry format was that my autograph cards that were graded just Authentic (like your Ham) with a weighting of 1, are not allowed. The convoluted explanation I got still confuses me. This and a few other issues has really subdued my passion for collecting these sets. It's gotten to the point that I'm probably not going to renew my PSa subscription. Once collecting becomes a headache, it's no longer a hobby.
