heh you just tied for the wild card lead, now predicting a 4 game win in the east?

  • heh you just tied for the wild card lead, now predicting a 4 game win in the east?

    Yup.

I can't guarantee it but the Yankees have the best record in MLB since May 15 and have been playing about .700 ball while the Red Sox barely .500. I stand by my prediction.

We are just a few short weeks away from the rant changing from what a lousy team the Yankees are and how they arent going anywhere to well, with such a HUGE payroll they should be winning every game and how unfair it is and blah blah blah, you get the idea.

  • Fans forget during 1996 that the Yankees had a young home grown nucleus in Jeter, Bernie, Mariano, and Pettitte mixed with veterans such as O'Neill, Tino, and Wetland. People also forget that then Mo was a 6th, 7th, and 8th inning setup guy and then Torre bought in Wetland to close. After the 5th inning it was basically lights out. I can see Joba (if he lives up to his hype...so far so great) and VIzcaino in the 6th, 7th and the 8th innings.Great hitting, starting pitching, and relief, a recipe for a World Championship.

The Yankees have a better Farm System than any Yankee Hater could ever have imagined. Cano, Melky, and Wang in the last few years, and now Hughes, Joba, and Duncan.

I strongly believe that this is the year A-Rod gets the skeletons out of his closet, earns his pinstripes and brings the Yankees to the promised land, Peyton Manning style. And this year will be extra sweet (almost making up for 2004) coming back from a 14 1/2 game deficit.

The San Diego Padres came close to finishing a deal for Kei Igawa in mid-July. But they're taking another shot now, with the odds probably in the range of 50-50.
San Diego was awarded a waiver claim for Igawa, and now the Padres and the New York Yankees have until 2 p.m. Tuesday to work out a deal for the left-hander.
The Yankees paid a $26 million posting fee for Igawa last fall and then signed him to a five-year, $20 million contract. The Padres would be on the hook only for his salary, and none of his posting fee, if they land the left-hander. But it is unlikely that the Yankees will simply give Igawa to the Padres for nothing; the Yankees asked for relief pitching when the two teams discussed a possible deal in July.

Although Igawa has been a tremendous disappointment for the Yankees, going 2-3 with a 6.79 ERA, many scouts who tracked him in Japan thought he would be effective as a No. 4 or No. 5 starter. One talent evaluator said Friday that he thinks Igawa would fit much better in the NL -- and particularly in San Diego's Petco Park, a place better suited for pitchers.
If Igawa rebounds, the Padres would have an experienced starting pitcher for a very moderate salary in the current market, at $4 million per year

Hey, if the Padres want to take this bad Yankee signing off of our hands and give us relief pitching I say DO IT. In a flash ...

People can whine and moan all they want about "oh the Yankees had an easy schedule the last month waaa waaa waaaa"...but the fact is they have put up wins and made up a lot of ground only to be biting on the heals of the Red Sox. Red Sox newspapers can print all the ridiculous propoganda they want to help their Red Sox Nation feel all warm and fuzzy but at the end of the day, the win column is what matters most.

This month will certainly be a trying one for the Yanks. Its a tough schedule and will be the month that can make or break both the Yanks and the Red Sox. How important will both the August and September series be? I would guess, more important than we have seen since 2001. A repeat of last years Boston Massacre would be perfect image ( A series that Red Sox fans insist will be soon forgotten but I dont think so image )

Anyway, here we go! A bitter battle to the end! I predict at least 1 bench clear in final 6 meetings!

Yeah OK Paul, we believe you image

Sure what is happening is FUN because, hey, we WERE 14 1/2 games out at one point. I have not forgotten how awful I felt as a fan. To have the Yankees where they are now is like a season reborn image

Paul, good to see you take the high road unlike other Sox fans or supporters who in these darker times for the Sox point fingers at Yankee fans who are posting now that weren't when the Yanks were 14 1/2" out. That $hit makes me laugh ..... I mean what the HELL does any of that crap have to do with the two teams and how they are playing image Why waste time crying about that stuff when it will ALWAYS happen NO MATTER the team or sport ..... nonsense, and quite mindless.

Anyway, the Yanks have still quite a uphill battle in both the Wild Card and division race. We need to just keep winning the next game on the ol schedule image

  • man, passing of the scooter has really taken the wind out of their sails.

lets hope they start another nice streak tonight!
  • Joba and Ramirez too! Made the freaking Tigers look down right silly. Who says that the Yankees don't have any youngsters in their Farm System? Must make Yankee Haters blood boil. This is the Yankees year! ARod earns his pinstripes and finally gets his ring, and Clemens retires a winner as the young Rookie sensations shine.

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."
