Matsui, Cano, Abreu, and Melky are red hot and are a great supplement to the great season A-Rod is having. It's about time. Damon is coming on strong too.

With the way the Yankees have been pitching, with Hughes coming back soon I don't think the Yankees need anything. I can't say enough about how great Vizcaino is pitching, and we got him for an old broken down Randy Johnson to boot!

I can't help it, I've had more than a few brewskis - so here go's..............
A Red Sox fan liked to amuse himself by scaring every Yankees fan he saw strutting down the street in an obnoxious NY pinstripe shirt. He would swerve his van as if to hit them, then swerve back just missing them.
One day while driving along, he saw a priest. He thought he would do a good deed, so he pulled over and asked the priest, "Where are you going, Father?"
"I'm going to give Mass at St. Francis church, about two miles down the road," replied the priest.
"Climb in, Father. I'll give you a lift!" The priest climbed into the passenger seat, and they continued down the road.
Suddenly, the driver saw a Yankees fa n walking down the road, and he instinctively swerved as if to hit him. But, as usual, he swerved back onto the road just in time.
Even though he was certain that he had missed the guy, he still heard a loud THUD. not knowing where the noise came from, he glanced in his mirrors but still didn't see anything.
He then remembered the priest, and he turned to the priest and said, "Sorry Father, I almost hit that Yankees fan."
"That's OK," replied the priest "I got him with the door."
Two tough games against Baltimore, too bad B-more doesn't have Bedard going today, the SOX get him on Tuesday. Otherwise, the evil empire would be looking at a broom.
Ah, you realize there are no Yankee "fans" posting on here when they lose, right? You can bank on it. Earlier this week, we saw stirrings of them as the Yanks got to play KC and Tampa Bay a bunch of times. Now, a couple of quick losses, and its like someone yelled fire in a crowded movie theatre.
Don't worry, Yankee "fans" - you'll be able to root for the Mets in September, at least.
<< <i><<Ah, you realize there are no Yankee "fans" posting on here when they lose, right? >>
The reason for that is because Yankee fans are the most loyal and they become whey too bummed to care about something as meaningless as posting on a forum when their team loses. I for one will not go out period and do any kind of partying if the Yanks lose. I will not watch Baseball Tonight or Sportscenter on those days either. Unlike Red Sox fans whom have become so use to losing, Yankee fans are too much in a state of shock when their team loses. >>
But even more so, the majority of baseball fans who don't like the Yankees bash on them. Therefore, it just gets tiring hearing the same old complaints and bashing and negative wishing. >>
Well you do understand that the Red Sox do have more reasons to hate than anyone, but all Im saying is PUULEASE come up with something different than "we are used to losing" 2004 erased that!

Nah, that is complete crap Paul. All Yankee haters , Sox fans, etc do is HARP on reasons why the Yankee fan is not allowed to enjoy past success .... because it was the past. I don't care if it was 75 years ago or 7 years ago. The hater refuses to acknowledge any past success because it is ancient history. So, 2004 is getting pretty damn long in the tooth ya know?
Then ya have Jerry, who through good fortune or the lack of any other hobby, is able to sit at his computer screen 24/7 and log the amount of Yankee fan posts and track trends of who posts when and why ......
Remember this fellas. ALl it will take is for a post season loss to make all of you look like clowns in regard to the posts from SOx fans from May through June. If you lose, I will be cutting and pasting for weeks

I can't wait for the Sox to fall right on their face in October. What a great winter it will be around here All of this mindless crowing will come home to roost. Oh yeah it will!
Looks like the Yanks held on to Hughes, Chamberlain, and Kennedy! I am so happy for that! Things have really changed as the days of trading away top flight prospects are gone!
Hughes will probably start this weekend and Joba Chamberlain pitched his first game out of the pen last night in AAA. 3 up, 3 down, 3 k's. He is a STUD
<< <i>Well, thanks for playing guys! See you all in 2008.
>>
Hmmmm, is this the type of pompous comment that so many Yankee haters ALWAYS whine and cry about in regards to Yankee fans? You betcha ..... can't wait for the rest of the season
Mike Mussina has tied Dennis Martinez for the most career wins in the history of baseball without ever winning 20 games in one year. 245 wins with no 20 win season. Now you can take that stat and run with it any way you want
Ozzie Guillen's rant was AWESOME last night! I havent enjoyed watching a manager/ump arguement in a while but that one was good. That 3 game skid hurt...but looks like Yanks could be back on track...or so we hope!!! Good riddance Proctor! Now Farnsworth has a ton of work to do to be in better graces with the game, himself, his teammates, his manager, and the fans. If he just shuts his mouth, goes out and performs then he should be fine. But the question is...will he???
Damn! Shelley Duncan almost jacked another one! Is this kid a find or what?? BTW, it's BS that Sox pitcher got tossed...hit Cano with a knuckle ball? If you're gonna bean someone, it ain't gonna be with a knuckle ball!!The annoucers were pizzed, and rightfully so.
Elaborate on what Paul? Yankee fans being the same Yankee fans that have inhabited the Bronx for 80 plus years? Please stop acting like any other fans are holier then thou. Was it not Sox fans who threw things at Clemens wife in Fenway after all he did for the Sox? Yeah, it was Did you guys "elaborate" on that one?
No stopping the train fellas. The Yanks have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to snag a playoff spot thanks to their great play this past month
Im not "acting" about anything, I just think its funny that the majority of Yankee fans thought Big boy was going to put you guys back in first and now they are booing him.. And I would expect the same thing from Sox fans. Im just glad that its you guys. But no need to elaborate anymore because I saw ESPN, I was just asking because an old friend of yours started a thread on it.
Nobody thought Clemens was going to give you guys a better shot for first? Im not talking about this forum, Im talking about REAL life here! Why then did you guys spend 28mill? For second place? I dont think so. The reality of my post was to throw a barb at you guys when I read Ax's post, By the way I dont cateragize Dan, Yankeeno7 or yourself with the "Majority" of Yankee Fans when I bash them. I know you guys stand by your team, but any shot I can get in I will.
The majority of Yankee fans did not know what to make of Clemens coming back. The MAJORITY of bashers have nothing but visions of Clemens in the booth with a microphone and back page headlines the next day to assume the "majority" of Yankee fans were dancing in the street.
Yankee fans did not spend 28 million. The Yankees did. Red Sox fans did not spend J.D Drew money. The Red Sox did. You see now?
Axtell's posts are ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS agenda driven. ALWAYS A-L-W-A-Y-S. Why on earth anything he posts would lead somebody to burn some brain cells I will never know
Well, thanks Paul, I think! Baseball and Soft are right when they speak of booing by Yankees fans throughout history. I think the ONLY player I have never heard booed is Derek Jeter, even when he went through that beginning of the year slump a couple years ago. But normally, if a player doesnt perform up to expections in Yankee Stadium, they get booed no matter who they are. The passion to win.....
Agenda driven? Interesting. I simply found it amusing that a guy who not even 3 months ago was getting plenty of praise (even among those here...go back to the early may posts to see) is now getting booed out of his home park.
No, it wasn't just the media who was heaping the praise on Clemens, and you guys know that. Please don't sit there and expect us to believe you weren't amped up that he re-signed with the yankees, that you didn't honestly think he was going to be a key contributor to the yankees coming back.
Well you would if you had no clue what people are actually thinking. And yeah, it was the media Ax. Don't even try that one ..... you don't know. >>
So you're going to sit there and deny that you didn't repeatedly mention Clemens' name as a reason the Yankees were going to turn around their abysmal start to their season? Please, go back and check your own posts from the time it was announced...you have at least a half dozen posts where you mention Clemens by name as a reason the yankees would bounce back.
Nevermind, not worth getting into an argument over. It was posted that the only ones who had Clemens being a key to the season turnaround was the media, I posted a contradiction.
Nevermind because I have not denied a damn thing AND you are an agenda driven fool. FOOL. Gonna run to the mods with that one?
It is just so shocking that Yankee fans turned on Clemens today after a abysmal outing. So shocking. It has only been the Yankee fans way to boo bad performances for what ..... 80 some years? Huh ..... shocking.
Again, guys like you Ax have not a clue about what you are crying about. Yankee fans boo when they feel players are not performing as they should. It does not mean that they are suddenly hated. For the day? Maybe. Guys like you will NEVER understand that ....
<< <i>Again, guys like you Ax have not a clue about what you are crying about. >>
Understatement of the year.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

<< <i>A "better shot at first" is a whole different statement from "put you guys back in first". I think most Yankee fans, and most fans in general thought he was going to improve the pitching staff, which I believe he has done. But I, nor anyone else, had illusions about him spearheading the Yanks into first place. He's NEVER been that kind of pitcher IMO. Not even in his best Red Sox days. Sure he had great stats, but he never performed well in the clutch. And he never has for the Yanks either. As for why the Yanks spent $28M, I didn't like it but I guess they felt like they want to improve the team with whatever was available even if that meant overpaying. >>

Well considering that Ax's camera phone has higher quality than Clemens starts have been for the yankees so far, he deserves to be booed. It seems that instead of being the stopper, he's circling the drain. Very very disappointing so far from the rocket, hopefully he can turn it around.
nice job from betemit, nothing better than homering in your first yankee at bat to keep the fans off you for awhile
Looking past the Clemens BS, I gotta hand it to Posada, What a year this guy is having! I just looked at his stats and I must say I am impressed. A class act to boot...
Other than this game, Clemens has been effective. Lights out? Of course not. I dont think anyone's expecation was for him and to pitch shutouts every time out. Quality starts? Yes, absolutely that is what is expected of him. Anything less than a quality start isnt good enough. Not with that paycheck anyway.

WHERE HAVE I DENIED ANYTHING

That is all.
Goodnight.

Understatement of the year.
<< <i>The majority of Yankee fans did not know what to make of Clemens coming back.
Why on earth anything he posts would lead somebody to burn some brain cells I will never know >>
<< <i>A "better shot at first" is a whole different statement from "put you guys back in first". >>
<< <i>Well, thanks Paul, I think!
Like I said, some people get it while others don't and never will.
nice job from betemit, nothing better than homering in your first yankee at bat to keep the fans off you for awhile
