Yeah, the same here. This latest VTH has got me wanting to go out and find some real targets. It's been a long time since I've found anything appreciable. :-)

Not to sway voting but just to inform you about the dragon pentagram.

It is a Peter Stone Pentagram & Dragon Pendant
He is somewhat known for making occult & pirate jewelry that is kind of cheap. I think he's more than a company then a person.

    Gary,

You had some great finds in this round. The yellow gold, mother of pearl elephant earrings are quite popular as they are believed to be lucky. Lucky that is, unless at the time it was lost it was being worn by a goat with pierced ears...You must admit it's interesting that a lucky earring and the cult pendant were found in the same area!

Bummer about the machine John. With 5 wheat cents, you were probably minutes from being silvered.

    Dude, you ROCK. imageimageimage

Silvered in seven targets? You suck, too! image

EXCELLENT narrative, action shots, and sceneshots... just what I visualized for VTH3.

You really made it "virtual" and I wish you were more than our Alt!

Well, folks, fear not- though hopefully none of us will have problems that make the services of our fine Alternate Digger necessary, his time in the limelight is not entirely over- the "halftime show" between Round 6 and Round 7 is the domain of the Alternate Digger, so Gary will be in charge of those festivities!

image psst- from what I unnerstand, he has some giveaway up his sleeve, and I hear it's gonna be... uhh... an interesting one... image

Can't wait to see what Earl has for us.

I guess I'd better start thinkin' about where I am gonna dig R7, since it is not dug yet.

That pentagram & dragon pendant is a great find!

Overall, several great finds already now - after three rounds. We've gotten silvered in all three rounds so far! image

Before anybody else PMs me to ask when Earl is opening Round 4, the answer is: I have no idea.

Both BentFork and I have PM'ed him to let him know he's up next, so we'll just have to wait and see.

    DesertRat gets Target #37.

Since Earl opened it all up at once, who'll take #38?

    Step right up, #38...

    dan8402 is #39!

Really, maybe you shouldn't have opened them all at once, Earl, but oh well. We can stretch some of the other rounds out later, to make them fairer.

And I think Zot said he might be opening some by day in Finland time, to give the late-night/super early-bird folks in on this side of the pond a chance.

    #40 is next...

    Laserart is #40!

I gotta log off soon and head off to errands and work for the night.

But I look forward as much as any of you to seeing the results.

Earl has told me he doesn't have many pictures of this round, beyond the usual target lineup.

But he is making up for that by offering a little twist giveaway on the side... as he hinted, he asked me to pick a number before the round was open, and I did. Whichever person gets that target number will win not only the virtual credit for "finding" that target, but he/she will also be sent the actual target that Earl dug!

I hope I picked somebody a lucky one, and not a crusty 1982 zinc cent!

Earl or whichever other DD happens to be online can moderate the rest of the R4 entries. Target #41 is next...

Can I have 41 or do you want me to reply when you get there? No need to answer, I'll follow along and figure out how you're doing it.

    Thanks,

    Rob

I believe you guys have a pretty cool game going on here. Prizes or no prizes, you would probably still have a lot of action with this thing.

    Walkerminus1 has Target #41.

I was still lurking for a moment.

There, now perhaps it would be best if we waited until Earl or another Designated Digger is online to moderate entries for Targets #42-48. This way we can avoid any confusion.

BTW, whoever wins Earl's "secret number" side giveaway in this round will not be the first to get an actual piece of VTH3 history. I gave 30AnvZ28 Target #3, the old oil lamp mechanism he picked, when he visited recently. Took him digging on the site, too. One target I found there might become part of Round 7 later.

    I am headed off, now.

Please wait until another Designated Digger is present and calls for the remaining Round 4 targets.
