It is definitely 2006 Topps Heritage -- I opened all 48 packs that they had and they are now out. I live in Sherman, Texas. The odds are almost identical to hobby. I have been getting SP's in one out of every two packs. Didn't hit anything spectacular but I really like the design of these cards.

    How frustrating is this.

Saturday morning I receive an email from the US Postal Service saying my case of cards arrived at my local post office at that morning.

Bad news is my post office is closed on Saturdays.
Good news is that there are postal deliveries.

So I catch the postman and he says they don't take packages. There is a seperate truck for that and, at the condo tower I live in, it goes to a central office at the condo.

Unfortunately, that office won't open until Monday at 5 p.m.

Ugh. My cards have been in town since Saturday morning and I can't get them until 5 p.m. Monday.

Sooooo, in the meantime I wasted my time picking up Heritage premium cards at 99 cents each. Right now I have about 50 of them and I'm close to finishing the chrome set.

I woke up early this morning to finish cracking my case before my kids woke up - pretty decent case I think, best pull was a Snider Real One. Need the following SPs:

    10, 23b, 91, 95a, 267, 268, 273, 276, 278, 281, 281, 284, 291, 295, 296, 299, 300, 306, 307, 309, 310, 326, 330, 339, 345, 349, 352, 407

    the following NAPS:

    GS, RC, I, GM

    and the following FBs:

    BR, AK

To offer, I have the following SPs:

    55 (2), 106, 123, 127 (2), 200b (4), 265 (2), 282 (2), 285, 292 (2), 305 (2), 312, 316, 319, 320, 321, 322, 323, 325a, 325b, 333, 336 (2), 338, 341, 348 (2)

    the following NAPs:

    BB, AR, AP, MT

    the following T&Ns:

    1, 2, 8, 9

    the following chromes (/1957):

    3, 6, 7, 8, 11 (2), 14, 19, 26, 33, 35, 36, 37, 42, 57, 59 (2), 61, 75, 78, 86 (2), 97, 98, 101, 102

and the following chome refractors (/557):

    48, 51, 60, 67, 92, 98, 108

Hoping to do as much trading as possible before resorting to E-Bay, please PM me if any of the above works. Again, this is my first year of Heritage collecting and I'm loving it. My E-Bay ID is the same as my screen name here for reference. Thanks.

Heritage has hit Target in Southwest Virginia. I had to fight off a fat, slobby looking pack searcher to get to a few packs. I told the guy he was lucky I had my son and daughter with me or I would punch him in the nose. He gave me a nasty look and left empty handed. I bought five packs and will open them later tonight. I'm really waiting for the blasters to hit. I've pulled HOF ink the past two years from blasters.

After hitting the local Target on Friday evening and finding nothing, I wasn't expecting anything until at least Monday. After church today, I stopped by and checked anyway - found three almost untouched 2X12 boxes - one box missing a single pack, one missing four packs, and another was untouched. Girl at the checkout looked at me like I was nuts - told her they were for selling. "Oh, well that explains it a lot better, then." Yeah, right.

Anywho, first box yielded 16 SPs, a Brooksie seat and two chrome, one a Clemens. Only one of the 24 packs didn't have a SP, chrome or insert. Not bad. Pulled at least 3 of the SPs I needed to, plus the other SPs were only single dupes, rather than 4ths or 5ths. I actually pulled five SPs of seven different players in my case breaks. I was breaking the second case live while on IM with Jeff - he can testify to my mounting frustration and disbelief while ripping. As I break down my commons, I've ran across two commons that I pulled a total of three of - compare that with five SPs of some players. Thankfully, I've been able to turn some of those extra SPs into chromes via trades.

    I'll report 2nd & 3rd box later.

    Hi Craig
My wife went to Target today - and she picked me up about 10 packs.

They look really nice! Looks like retail may be loaded with SPs? I got quite a few by a cursory look at the numbers.

    Still on the fence guys.

I found a box of Heritage today and broke down and bought it. I'm not really in to new stuff but I figured that since everyone was talking about it so much that I'd buy a box. Have to admit they are image. But then I guess that I've liked the design ever since I carried this one around in my back pocket back in 1960 in the 1st grade.
    image
And why exactly do we give scissors to 6 year olds?

Anyway the Heritage are nice. Don't think that I'll pursue the set or anything. Too expensive to me for new stuff. Would rather spend on early to mid 50's stuff. But anyway here's what I got...
a card with a piece of Dontrelle Willis' shirt
2 then and now cards 1 with Mantle 1 with Ted Williams
2 cards I don't know what you call them but 1 has Whitey Ford and the other has Bobby Richardson (Neither autographed tho)
and 3 shiny cards (Matsui, Huston Street and Chipper)

I have 5 Man Ram New Age inserts, but no Ichiro. 4 Bobby Richardson Flashbacks yet no Kaline. Why are these sets so hard to
put together. You would think after 15 boxes one would have them all. Arrgggg

Im going to be spending lots of money in gas driving around to all the retail spots. It looks like the retail might be SP's
heavy. I would love to see some numbers.

We have the retail now at Target. I have opened 3 2x12 boxes and they have all been fairly predictable:

    12 SP's
    2 Chrome
    1 Refractor
    6 T&N, NAP, or FB
3 Checklists (No SP's, Chromes, Nothin)

However the last box threw me a curve!!!!

Bought my first three hobby boxes on Saturday from my local card shop for $205 out the door. I was very pleased that he sold them to me for only $68.33 a pop. Opened one yesterday and the second today. I'm intending to put together base, SP, insert and chrome sets again this year as I did in 2005. I was very happy with these two boxes (no duplicated cards in either one); here are the results (with running completion totals):

    Box 1
    171 Base cards (44.4%)
    12 SPs (10.9%)
    5 inserts (2 FB, 1 NAP, 2 TN; 10.9%)
    3 chromes (including 1 refractor; 2.7%)
    1 CC Eric Gagne jersey
    1 TT Jimmy Piersall auto

    Box 2
142 Base cards I needed (and only 30 doubles of base cards pulled from 1st box; 313 base cards total, 81.3% complete)
    12 SPs (24 total; 21.8%)
    5 inserts (2 FB, 2 NAP, 1 TN; 10 total; 28.6%)
    3 chromes (6 total; 5.5%)
    1 CC Derrek Lee bat

Pretty lucky to pull two relics and an auto (even if it's a Team Topps sticker) in two boxes. Looking forward to opening the third...

    Very nice Georgie!

    Congratulations!

I have not spent a lot of time looking at the set this year like other years.

So, one major change that was the standard from the last few years - 400s are not SPs!?

That kind of made IDing easier.

    10 packs - 2 chromes, 5 SP's, TN4, FB-MM, CL#3

You certainly need to be familiar with the sp list this year, its all over the place. Whats funny is that the checklist I had which topps
gave out was missing 8 cards cut off at the top of two of the pages, so I kept pulling 11 sp's a box..now I know where the others
    are!

Its looks like early retail 12X2 packs will be the money packs again this year! This board has completly destroyed the odds already.

I'm dying over here. I've found no retail at any of the 3 Targets or 2 Wal-marts between my house and work (the presence of which, in itself, is a depressing thought), but I don't know if they've just not gotten any or they've been scooped up. There are only 2 shops in town, and one is about 25 miles from my house and haven't had time to go up there, and I'm boycotting the other, closer one. I decided not to get a case and to just open some blasters and hunt/trade for singles I need like I did in '04, but I've yet to actually see a single card yet. I luckily BINned a Thomas Black Refractor last week for what I think is a good price, but haven't gotten it yet. Target over lunch, I just know there's a Musial auto waiting there for me.

BTW, I haven't read every post yet, but I am curious: Is there no Ken Griffey Jr. in the set? I haven't seen any listed on ebay. Anyone know why not if that's true?

Well, I opened the last case. Three case and I DO NOT have a complete set of Short Prints. I need No. 25, Randy Johnson. Anybody have an extra? Want to trade? As soon as I compose myself, I'll compose a list of all the cards I have to trade. Can't believe it. I've gone through three cases or 24 boxes... or 576 packs.... or 4,608 cards and I'm still missing Randy Johnson.

Paul - I've got a Johnson for you. Still haven't sent your real '57s yet, so I can make sure it goes along with those. I got caught up in ripping and sorting myself, so your '57s went on a back burner.

Super. You want relics. I got some relics.
    I got .....
    Kaline and Briggs Stadium seat
Brooks Robinson and Memorial Stadium seat
    Plus...
    Vlad and a Bat,
    Richie Weeks and a Bat
    Schilling and a GU jersey
Brian Roberts and a GU jersey
David Wright and a GU jersey
Khalil Greene and a GU jersey

I'm on vacation this week, so I picked up my case at the Post Officie this morning. Starting ripping and it was so bad that I was getting ready to pour myself a vodka and 7-up. The only card of insignificance I got was a Jim Leyritz Team Topps Auto. But in the last two boxes I pulled two black refractors, Justin Verlander and Jay Gibbons, and in the last box I got a Duke Snider blue-ink autograph (I compared it to my earlier catch, a Snider Team Topps auto, and they don't look very similar. Both are on their way to EBay.

Anything you're looking for? I have plenty of chrome.

I'm taking a break from sorting. I'll have about four more base sets to put on EBay to defray the cost of my master set.

I bought a couple of packs at Target yesterday to see what they looked like in person.

I have to admit that I was dissapointed...

The coloring on the photos just doesn't do it for me ( bland ). Compared to the other Topps Heritage sets, this set has the least amount of eye appeal IMO.

    WOW, WOW and WOOOOOWWWWWWW.

Nice way to break into the heritage seen in 06! Every year the early retail boxes have great odds for ink, after that there is nothing, as a matter
of fact, I might just forget buying the blister packs at all.

So now I have to go and locate a bunch of retail checklists? LOL

Im actually hoping that the full card didn't find its way into pack, I feel compelled to go out and buy the die cut, but a full card would
be way to expensive to chase. Retail looks like its going to be interesting this year, already many checklist variations. Who knows

Lunchtime success! Target by my work had a retail box. Someone beat me to it because the blaster-box section was all in disarray and one of the packs had been opened. I couldn't resist so I peeked inside and found a Chrome Roger Clemens. Kept that one. The other 5 packs I got contained a Prior NAP and at least 3 SPs. Oswalt, Durham, and Wang for sure. What about #200 Clemens? Are both versions SP'd or just the red-shirt one. I got one that wasn't in the SP "slot" the others were, so I doubt it. It's the one with a full-size shot of him on the mound, same pic as the chrome.

Im fairly sure that ALL targets now have these. It depends on the store what they do with them, most keep them in the back until the
Excell rep can put them out, but some put them out themselves. I hit one of those stores and was able to intercept two boxes (one open
and one sealed). I bought 28 packs from the two and didn't get much. Dunn bat and a few chromes. Keep an eye out!

    Congratulations on the Snider!

I will be stopping at Target on the way home.

I'm curious to see if they get in the blasters. That's where you save some money.

As it goes for autos - we'll see.

    My streak is still alive!
None last year but it's a new year!

Still haven't decided if I should spend any money yet.

I'll leave it up to the "Heritage God" - if there's new stuff, I need to hit it! image

I hope you guys are having fun!

Sorry to hear you are disappointed - I think they were tryin for that "old feel"?
