The Heritage Gods have spoken..on my Birthday too! I am sitting in the middle of my living room around a pile of yellow wrappers. I have
opened around 5 boxes right now, out of 8. So far not a lot of surprises. The base set is amazing to look at. I know there are
others out there opening on their lunch hour. I look forward to a great season of trading, pics and stories!
Let the REAL games begin!!!!

I don't know how to link here yet, but here it is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-Topps-Heritage-ALEX-GORDON-CUT-ERROR-255-RC-HOT_W0QQitemZ8771802688QQcategoryZ98014QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It's only a matter of time before we see a "complete" Gordon error card, just as we saw in Topps Series 1.
Proudly buying your rookie cards since 1987.
EDIT: Good to see you here Jaypers, was wondering how long it would take you to come over to the "Dark Side"
impossible to pull 1:366 for the real one autos (thanks topps). I also pulled a Persall legends auto. My best pull was probaby a
Nomar Black Ref. Also pulled a Jeter Ref
If you like the thrill of the chase and lots of nice photos then you will like this stuff. If you are looking for all that and more, you will
be disapointed. Topps has tweaked the odds on the chrome refrators to 1:33. The blacks to 1:328 and the autos odds to 1:366
You aren't even guarenteed a GU a box.
Perhaps the think that urks me the most is the completly different checklist that came out. Most of the rookeis are gone. I guess topps
is making the decision on who to include in the set AFTER the sale sheets are handed out and AFTER the cards are printed. This isn't
good.
Well, its time to look at everything, and that is the best part. A few observations so far:
1) In each box I have a few packs that had been ripped open..hmmm
2) The picture of Bonds is the SAME pic they used in 02, just cropped in...cmon topps
3) Predictability....the checklist/GU packs are all in the same row as are the chromes..boooo
4) Did I mention the base set is amazing? They are now calling Boomer Wells, David..BOOOOOOO
I should have some more numbers up later. Thanks
Kevin
My two local shops got theirs in today. One guy would part with a box for $85. I passed. The other dealer sold me two boxes for just under $130. I called the dealer that is getting my case. He said it did not come in today. I'll have to savor the two boxes I got...after work.

By any chance can you post a picture of the Daric Barton Card, I have been dying to see another card of his.
Thanks
Bad news, Barton has been cut off the checklist. Sorry

1963 Fleer
Lou Brock Master Set
sp's. I am only averaging 11 SP's a box..I may have missed a few but it looks like the 1:2 ratio may even be a bit longer.
I have two favorite cards out of this set. First is Nick Swisher holding the bat out towards the outfield, calling his shot. The second
is the Jeter card...stunning. I really haven't sat down with this set at all, but just opening packs was nice. I now realize that
my 500/case rate was a decent one. I was too gun shy to preorder this stuff.
As far as collation goes, a quick run though of my short prints in those 4 boxes have yielded NO doubles, so that is good. One thing of
not is that the now and then set is printed on a different paper stock..it almost looks like it survived from the 57 season!!
I took some scans of the checklists, but they are too small, I will try to get some pics up tonight, of course there is already much
on ebay. I can't wait to get this set in a binder!!!
Where is Loth????
Kevin
What is this cutout card worth?
Edit: According to Beckett web site, it is the name is in Blue letters. That's the variation. It's difficult for variations when you don't have old logos and new logos.

I think it may be the only picture on the planet which shows Bonds smiling, maybe that's why they used it again.
My Sandberg topps basic set
My Sandberg Topps Master set
192 packs
chromes (1:9) Expected 22 Pulled: 21 no doubles
chrome refs (1:33) Expected 6 Pulled: 5 no doubles
black refs (1:328) Expected 0 Pulled: 1 (Nomar)
Bat cards (Lee, Cabrara, Vladdy)
Real One Blue AU:0
Real One Red: 1
Team Topps AU: 1 (Piersall)
Then and Now (1:15) Expected: 13 Pulled: 11 4 doubles
Flashbacks: (1:12) Expected: 16 Pulled: 16 7 doubles
New Age (1:15) Expected 13 Pulled 12 1 double
SP's (1:2) Expected 96 Pulled: 91 14 doubles
Overall I came in a little below the odds on everyone of the subsets and the sp's. Also the chromes....if you were going into this attempting
a chrome set, its going to be even harder this year. By my math, you pulled one of the big three (blue au/red au or black ref) every 10th box..so I
guess I did ok, but the huge checklists make nailing a great case very hard. Topps ran the presses here and there is 20% more of this
stuff out there than last year.
I can't wait to see some other breaks. I haven't put the commons in order yet.

While (as my name indicates) I normally collect vintage golf cards, I have an 8 week old son at home and realized that my possiblity of collecting the vintage sets of the 50's will be way out of my means by the time he is old enough to get into collecting on his own.
I am just starting to collect the topps heritage sets. I plan on going back and getting all the issues from 2001-2005 as well. If any of you have any thoughts on a good source of these cards let me know. I know all about the SP's etc. All I have is a few from the 2001 set and the 2003 sets.
Tonight I opened two boxes tonight of the 06 heritage. I did pull 2 refractors (vlad included) and received an ichiro and the COmmisioners chrome as well. Also pulled two game used relic cards (no one important) and a real one auto of Dusty Rhodes. Pretty good for 2 boxes!!!
Keep me in mind, I may be willing to trade these for SP's I need, but I haven't started sorting yet!
If any of you have a source for any of the back issue cards, let me know here or via pm.
Thanks!
Dave
Collector of Vintage Golf cards! Let me know what you might have.
SO mathematically speaking no difference and retail for $100 less per case is a better deal. If you are a casebuster then hobby was the choice as it is out now and retail is not supposed to be out for 2 more weeks. Brent on the blowout boards got 20 cases.
I almost pulled the trigger on 20 cases of retail at $415 shipped per but then sanity came back to me before I did that.

Hopefully my cases will be here tomorrow...
Geordie
Dodgers collection scans | Brett Butler registry | 1978 Dodgers - straight 9s, homie
them, not to mention the refractors. I have a huge collection of heritage cards from 2001 to present. If you have the money
let me know.
I will again say that early retail boxes (2 row 24 count) boxes will be the ones with the money cards in them. Blister boxes will
be average at best, unless they double insert the SP's. If you don't mind paying 72 a box then wait for the early retail
boxes. I know Target and Wal Mart get them in. Keep checking this post for retail spotting! These will be HIGHLY searchable
again, so if it looks fingered walk away. Sometimes walmart keeps a box or two wrapped for box sale, but they don't last
long. Target usually contracts one guy to refill all the stores, so if you find one at one store chance are they all got them in
so grab your car keys and your map!
I just put 1-100 in order and am proud to announce that there were no holes! Woo hoo!!
Kevin
However after the topps base retail released BEFORE hobby - start looking now - you never know
FWIW - i was at Target and Walmart for basic home supplies tonight and saw nothing yet.
I try to buy/trade for singles/lost and avoid wax but if i see it i know i will collapse and buy it all out. I am a weak, weak man....
Lets hope for 14 SP 8 pack blasters like 2004
