I got in under 500, 480 I think delivered for a case. But I got in the first day. One dealer, on EBay, sold me a case for 450, but he reneged a few weeks later.
lot of busting going on out there as ebay is filling up with 2006 stuff. Also, lots of 2001 to 2005 stuff is coming out of the woodwork. I love Feb/March time of the year. Kid in a freaking candy store...

correction chrome set is 109 cards deep as Alex Gordon wan't made....of course who knows, someone pulled the regular..a chrome might pull a thousand bucks!
We will all have holes in our 2006 master sets because of Topps and their Alex Gordon bullsh#t. I'm sure a chrome parallel version exists and will be found in days.

but I wouldn't put it past a card company to "slip" a few in just to have people chase more and more product to find it?
Looks like there's gonna be lots of money thrown at the sets this year. $27 for both variations of the Pujols, someone just dropped down the $175 BIN for a blue Banks auto, $102.50 for a blue Mel Parnell auto, Mantle seats are all going high. I'm gonna have to be patient with this year's set. I have no doubt I'll be able to put together a master set, and have plenty of extra SPs. I'm hoping to pull a decent auto or two that I can put up on eBay. I'll use whatever trade material and eBay profit I can to put towards any chromes or game used I'm missing.
I am feeling soooooo impatient right now. Can't stand seeing all the opened product!
Just out of curiousity - do the SP's have the names in Red/Blue, while the "regular" (non SP) cards have the names in White/Yellow? Just something I noticed while looking at the cards. Unfortunately, I haven't busted any wax yet.
Always looking for 1996 Select Certified Football.
Mike, Thats exactly what they did. We have gone full circle back to 1989 time period where more production and phony error chases cards are the state of the modern hobby. I approach the Heritage sets as something fun - to collect and not worry about the $ side of it. However when the phony error card game invades my happy place I get really miffed. Bad Topps, Bad!
Collecting only Topps Heritage baseball 2001 to 2006 Yankees, chromes, black refracters, autos, relics, SP's
Be patient everyone - so many case busters loaded up on 10 to 20 case lots that the SP's and base sets will be dirt cheap in a month. Don't forget that Topps produced roughly 11,800 cases of this stuff this year compared to 8000 to 9000 cases in years past. The serial numbered stuff /557 /57 and the autos will still be tough but the "regular" chase cards for the master sets and the chrome /1957 sets will be plentiful on ebay in weeks/months to come. I am truly anticipating a cut throat sellers price war as people begin to see this stuff show up everywhere. Busting wax now is fun but wait a few months and you can build a master set on the cheap. Just my 2 pennies worth...
Collecting only Topps Heritage baseball 2001 to 2006 Yankees, chromes, black refracters, autos, relics, SP's
I hear ya Lover, BUT, I love busting wax WAY TOO MUCH to go and buy a base or master set that is not totally put together by myself discrimminating EVERY card that goes into the binder.! If I was worried about the money I would NOT be buying Topps Heritage
Yes both of my game used may be available, if I do not trade them at the local shop tomorrow for SP's. I know one is Johan Santana, can't remember the other one.

softparade, good point - nothing beats a home made set - made with only the best quality cards hand picked from packs and right into the binder/top loader/sleeve/etc. Still, most of the time I cant drop $75 on a box to get 12 SP's and 3 chromes. I will take my chance on a pre- made set - there are some good sellers out on ebay who do make quality sets. Nothing wrong with a $20 blaster box hit to see if you can score in a 8 pack shootout once in a while but the big 24 pack boxes always leave me with a sick feeling once done. I always feel much better if I have a pile of 35 SP's in hand after forking over $75. Still, busting wax and crossing those numbers off the want list while chewing the gum and drinking a beer or 4 - that my friends is nirvana. The classic struggle of logic versus emotion.....

This is the ultimate pack busters set. Hobby is nice and fun, but retail is where the real fun begins..being the first in your city to get to it, sliding 24 pristine packs down the check out lane at target watch the cashier ring up every single pack then dumping them into the bag. Sitting in the parking lot, sp checklist on the passenger side seat, gum stacked up on your left leg, sp's and chromes on your right, the smell of gum everywhere. The pop of the pack, perhaps a puff of flour. squaring the stack then slowly letting them pull apart...seeing the black, knowing you have a black refractor. Is there anything more of a thrill than peeling back the fourth card to see the fifth...could it be that elusive sp you need? Could it be chrome? Could it be ink?

Also...of my four chromes, I got doubles of Shawn Chacon w/ consecutive serial numbers. Funny thing, the same thing happened to me last year with Paul DoLuca.

I saw a MEL PARNELL Real One auto going for over 100 bucks last night...Kevo...it might be best if you put that common auto up NOW...and then rebuy it back later at 25 bucks in about a year!!!
I should be getting my case in about 10 days or so. I had to wait on it since I will be out of town next week on my monthly Vegas trip and then back home to San Diego while I'm on a break from law school.
I really love opening this stuff and it's the only modern stuff I ever buy anymore.
