I'm looking through the Chrome checklist. Is it just me or does there seem to be an unusual number of scrubs in the set this year? Same with the SPs as well.
everyone excuse my heritage ignorance....these were from pack 2 & 3 respectively........dont know if they mean anything or if anyone is interested, but.......
"The other teams could make trouble for us if they win." -- Yogi Berra
Bri, those two cards are from two of the subsets in the master set. The Then & Now subset and Flashback subset. Every box will garner you about two of each on the norm.
Geez! I needed that checklist! Speaking of checklists, I have been opening up retail and hobby and I have one checklist that is missing the square next to Bobby Crosby and I have another one that does have the square. Does Bobby Crosby's card exist? Anyone else know about this??? Let me know! Thanks!
I don't pay attention to checklist variations. And Judging from last year, not many do while building the master set. But thats just me. I pulled so many of these things already ... I just put mustard on one and had lunch
If anyone is working on the subsets or the chrome set, here's what I have for trade. I'd be interested in trading for any SP doubles you have. Send me a PM.
Thanks! Brian

Totally sorry about that. I think it's turned on now...
I usually build the master set to include all SP's, but I don't worry about the subsets or the chromes. So, basically I am open to trade all of those that I listed.
-Cards # 11, 42, & 51 coincide with the players jersey number
- Lots of photos were previously used for the 2005 Turkey Red set
- The stock isn't too smooth on alot of the cards. this makes it a little tougher to find true mint examples
- I pulled 10 Derek Lowe cards all were off center
- From 1-100 no variations to report
- I did have about 11 open packs and 9 had chromes or refractors in them. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Gordon RC chromes and refractors being pulled
yes I opened a box today that had opened packs, its almost like the sealer machine was broke, One box yielded 9 chromes, of course I only got 6 short prints. I have noticed that the guy who took Gordon's spot on the checklist is always found last card in the pack.
Another VERY interesting thing I noticed was the info that topps provided beckett with in the last baseball beckett! They listed two hot rookies Maybin and Broadway...and actually have Broadway pictured!! They also list the SRP at 1.95/pack. Anyone see these for 2 bucks retail?
Page 110 for those of you who have the new beckett
I need many refractors (xx/557): I need all other then the following: 13, 17, 21, 25, 28, 29, 35, 36, 39, 43, 50, 53, 54, 55, 57, 66, 67, 82, 84, 92, 95, 98, 101 and 104.
Heritage has been in retail stores in various parts of the nation for several days. It generally starts in the Midwest and Northeast and then makes it way to other parts of the nation. I live in southeast Florida. We should not have Heritage until the end of the this upcoming week. I know Walmart in Arkansas started selling Heritage on Monday of last week.

Thanks and good luck to all!

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
Great stuff guys, keep it coming. Even though I'm not doing the set, this thread is a blast to read ...

<< <i>The only catch to buying retail was that Topps forced you to purchase a number of packs that was divisible by a prime number. This was fine when purchasing loose packs (ie, just do the math in your head in the card aisle and you should be good when you checkout and they double-check your calculations) but it became a little hairy when you wanted to buy "Booster," "Blaster," "Blister," or "Bluster" boxes. These came in prepackaged quantities of 7 +1 Free Pack, 10 +1 Free Pack, 95 +1 Free Pack, and 191 +1 Free Pack respectively. Thanks, Mudflap, for the info. $150 extra bucks just for a chance at one of two autos? Sounds like thin odds.
Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their boxes. I would be GREAT if someone here pulled one of those two cards.

Totally sorry about that. I think it's turned on now...
I usually build the master set to include all SP's, but I don't worry about the subsets or the chromes. So, basically I am open to trade all of those that I listed.
I also have base doubles of:

I need quite a few SP and base....I have an excel spreadsheet if anyone is interested.
Thanks Guys!
Has anyone else noticed any quirks?
I only got 6 short prints. I have noticed that the guy who took Gordon's spot on the checklist is always found last card in the pack.
Another VERY interesting thing I noticed was the info that topps provided beckett with in the last baseball beckett! They listed
