Well, it's over,
errr at least the ripping (three cases) and sorting

The good news: Duke Snider blue ink, John Leyritz and Snider Topps Team autos, three black refractors (D. Young, Gibbons and Verlander) plus a couple of relics and GUs.

The bad news: There's no bad news 'cause it's so much fun ripping.

Hard to Believe Dept: After three cases, I still don't have a full master set. I need a #25, Randy Johnson. I have nearly two complete sets of short prints and about 75 extra and I'm still not there. It ain't fair.

Which leads me to trades. I'm looking for the following and have some goodies to trade.

are getting baseball. If I remember right, they had different boxes than target and walmart. Has anyone seen blaster boxes yet?

Question to the Heritage freaks:

Why are the autographs from the 2006 heritage on the card whereas all of the other Topps products are on stickers (I believe the last football product with autographs on the card were the 2004 Fan Favorites)? To be honest, I have essentially stopped collecting new autographed cards because 90+% are sticker autos - which I absolutely despise. Even though I'm almost strictly a football card collector, the autographs that Mud put up look incredible.

That's Box 1-lots of stars in addition to what I catalogued.....they seem to be the top card-Pujols, Manny, etc. or at least an established player.

Lots of fun, haven't opened this much wax in years-I love the cards too. I'm gonna stretch this out , do 1 or 2 more boxes tonight-perhaps not a pack by pack.

Greg...Topps knows stickers won't fly here! Whats better is that there are NO redemptions. You don't get as lucky with current ball players, thats
why on cards sets today are usually only retired players.

There is one guy who stocks all the Targets, I just saw him last Wednesday, so it might be a while till he is back. I don't know when
he comes again, he just put out 06 topps and that has been out for weeks.

That's 7x2 right Geordie? I open each box in the same pattern so pack 14 is the 7th pack down on the right side as you face open box. Very interesting how these work.......I've had lots of dupes in this 3rd box.

Can't believe I've never done Heritage before, I almost got sucked in last year. This year I knew I wanted to do it since I was collecting the traditional '57 set.

I hit two Targets and two Walmarts. The 2nd Target had Heritage in retail boxes only. I bought one. It was identical to the 10 hobby boxes I opened. 12 SPs, 2 TNs, 2 Chromes, 2 Flashbacks, 1 Refractor, 1 NAP. I will wait for blaster boxes.

Unfortunately, I already had EVERY one of the 12 SPs I pulled from retail. I still need 25 SPs.

Anyone notice that everyone needs the same few cards? It seems like the run of 334-339 are very short printed. Can someone who
has opened multiple case confirm this? Card #35 seems to be on everyones list too.hmmm

I have my conspiracy theory about super SPs as well. Last year it was Edmonds and Burnitz (20 and 454).

I'm inclined to agree that not all SPs are created equal. As I've beaten into the ground already, out of my two hobby cases, I pulled five each of seven different SPed players, four each of many others - all in all, I ended up many cards short. When retail finally hit our local Targets, I did pull several of the SPs I had previously been missing, and no more of the players I had quads or quints of. I did finally pull a single #35 Pena.

A question for those of you that have broken a whole retail case, was the collation better or about the same? Did you pull big-time multiples of the same SPs?

I'm pretty convinced of one thing. When next year's Heritage comes out, unless Topps gives me a really compelling reason to buy hobby (like box toppers), I'm doing retail. Less money, and what seems to be better ink pull odds.

FINALLY! Heritage has made it's appearance in the Albany, NY area! I opened 2 blasters and then 10 packs out of the 2x12's.
No autos
But what I did hit was a game used Jim Edmonds and a Black Refractor CC Sabathia!
I open my hobby case tomorrow morning!
