I'd have to say it was the owner of the cards. What do you think about a trade? I need like one card from your set and I've got over 100 graded Nolan Ryan cards.
Well, after a couple years of hemming and hawing, I finally decided to send in my 69 and 70 for crossover. I figure, if the results kill me, I can always try a crack-and-resub. But these were the main holdouts in my otherwise all-PSA collection.
In hindsight, I probably should've tried to submit them under the "free cards for your registry" special. Do they still do that?
Anyway, this is what I sent
1969
1970
I'm hoping to at least an even-crossover, though I wouldn't mind a bump.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...
Part of me thinks I could take a chance and resubmit the 1969 again. But part of me also sees why it's more in line with a 5 than a 6. The lower left corner is just too dicey, especially on the back.
Still, it's nice to have nearly all of my Ryans now in PSA holders, with the exception of a 1987 Fleer BGS 9.5 that is apparently too short T/B and was rejected with "Min Size Req." I've looked at it closely, and I don't think it was trimmed. I think I got hit with the ol' Fleer Factory set pressjob that was common back then. Not worth it to resub though.
So, if anyone has a PSA 10 1987 Fleer they want to sell without bending me over in an alley, feel free to PM me

Breaking my set up e-mail me at buzz_stang@hotmail.com if interested. I would consider selling it all togather or seperate. Thers is a bunch of psa 10's, low population cards some 1 of 1's.
While going through my cards, I just noticed that the 90 UD #734 w 300 Win Stripe talks about his 6th No Hitter, and not his 300th win. I do not have the card w/o the stripe. Does that one mention his 300th win instead of his 6th no-hitter? Sorry folks, but I never noticed this previously.
Hello Ryan fans.. I am putting up my entire 2000+ card Nolan Ryan collection for sale on Greg Bussineau's auction website. The auction starts in about a week. The cards from this set make up my #1 Master Set from a few years back. Included are a few 1/1s from the 60s and 70s, as well as rare cards from the 80s and 90s as well. Greg did a great job dissecting the set into lots that make sense and will be beneficial to you the collectors. Check out the auction at this link and simply search "NOLAN RYAN": http://www.gregbussineauauctions.com/Catalog3.aspx
Collecting Nolan Ryan Master, 1968 Basic, and WHA, as well as unused and authentic tickets from 60s-70s rock concerts.
Terry, good luck with the auctions. We had some good times back in the day beating each other up on eBay to get some of those gems... I still have nightmares over black10inch.
Thanks CON40.... it's time they found a good home. After moving to an island on the west coast of Canada, the thought of them sitting unloved in a storage unit in AZ for another year upset me. There was no way I would have been able to "sneak" them across the border into BC (hello, 2300 cards is a lot of plastic) without having to pay the 9% duty and then 12% HST tax on top of that AND the value of the cards. The last thing I was willing to do was give any government 20%+ of the value of that set for no real good reason whatsoever. It will be interesting to see what the PSA 10's, 1/1's go for at the end of the day.

I hadn't heard of the ghostwriting cards until the recent discussion after a few popped up on ebay. I have no clue where one would get these. Keep us posted on your search.
I have the Schmidt panel, but need to cut it and send it in for grading. One of my 2014 projects-
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
Believe it or not there are 5 panels graded with 2 PSA 1's and 3 PSA 2's. Here is one of my panels. I can't bring myself to cutting it up for grading, yet.
