Indiana hasn't played a ranked team until today.
I guess the CFP doesn't use SOS when ranking teams.
There would be 6 SEC teams unbeaten if we had this schedule.....c'mon man..... :D

You’re right, the entire Big 10 can’t play powerhouses like Kentucky and Vanderbilt . We do play powerhouses like USC (the west coast one, not Basebal’s favorite one).

    ;)

I kid, I kid - yes, Indiana’s schedule sucks but these things all play themselves out in the end. They get trounced today and they may be a 1 loss team on the outside of the playoff looking in while many 2 loss and possibly a 3 loss team gets in.

Only ranked team Texas has played is Georgia and they got trounced. And they're ranked higher than Indiana.

Ole Miss is better than Texas and Indiana. But I can see them losing against Florida today.

Man, this isn’t good for OSU. They walked into Penn St and the refs told both teams “we’re not gonna call anything on the DBs - good luck, boys”. Not the same message in any other OSU game - 2 DPIs on the same OSU DB on the first drive already.

They are slow starters offensively. I wouldn’t give IU too much confidence. There’s a reason they extended their head coach.

    Ohio State 7

Haha well my favorite one was founded in 1801 while Southern Cal wasnt founded 1880. The first one should be the real one

But yea hopefully OSU wins by enough that we can stop pretending Indiana is worthy of their ranking. The committee seems to be coming up with rankings and then working backwards to justify why they did what they did instead of the play leading them to the conclusions.

Other than ND I’m not sure who I would move ahead of IU right now. I think Ole Miss is a much better team but I have trouble believing they will do much with Kiffin.

I feel like I’m listening to sound bites from college game day when I read some of the ill-conceived posts here.

University of South Carolina has a 58% 4-year graduation rate. University of Southern California has a 75% 4-year graduation rate. Better school can have the name and it’s not even close.

Typed that as Dart made the worst play of the game. Haha.

Indiana should be out of it. Softest schedule in the country for a power conference team by far and got dominated in the one real game they played

Indianas only game left is Purdue who are atrocious. Indiana didnt look like a playoff team and had a 1 game schedule. They get pushed around and have a pretty good QB. Theres far more deserving 2 loss SEC teams than 1 loss Indiana

If Texas A@M beats Texas than Indiana will probably get ranked higher than Texas.

    ILL

    INI

Perhaps the most exciting game today was Illinois visiting Rutgers- 3 lead changes in the last few minutes. Big gambles… bigger plays and a 40 touchdown pass play with 4 seconds left… 38-31. Illinois trailed the entire game until late in the fourth quarter. 9 wins remains a possibility.

While that is possible with this committee, it definitely should not happen. Texas had an "easy" schedule by SEC standards but its still light years harder than Indiana who isnt even in the top 100. Texas schedule is also harder than Penn States

If A&M does beat Texas the most likely scenario is having 5 10-2 SEC teams all of which are far more deserving than Indiana

Never should have been ranked as high as they were, but with how down the BIG 12 is they still have a very good chance of getting a playoff bye winning the conference unfortunately. Colorado if you just run the ball down their throat they lose but people cant seem to figure that out.

Unfortunately Colorado has Oklahoma state who not only fell off a cliff but busted through the crust of the earth theyre so bad this year and BYU has Houston who just isnt good. ASU has Arizona who also fell off a cliff so we might be seeing some weird tie breakers for the conference title game.

Fortunately it looks like only 1 Big 12 team will make the playoffs this year

That was a well executed play. Pat Bryant is an outstanding receiver. I suspect he will play on Sundays. And Altmyer seems to have a calm and confidence demeanor that extends beyond stats. A 9-3 season would be terrific- not sure what bowl they would invited to. Instead of a SEC team, I think a match up with Colorado would be perfect. For those that don’t remember, Colorado lost to Illinois the year they won the National Championship. The schools have played twice- each with a win.

When Alabama tanks this game for me will be the 3rd time this year I needed them to win with the ML a parlay. This time I put them on 2 parlay sheets that I needed them on. Lost all 3 times. I bet them on their only 3 losses Frauds.

Milroe is just a RB with a strong arm. I still dont understand how they were fine with him as their QB. Boosters are going to need to open that check book to keep Williams around whose the best WR in the college

In year 1 of the new format it’s hard to know what they’ll do, but 3 losses seems like it should be disqualifying. We know they’re gonna want 4 SEC teams in, though, so it’s looking like a 3 loss team will make it.

During the 4 team format, no 2 loss team ever qualified for the playoffs. In this 12 team format, all 3 loss teams should be disqualified.

    Embarrassing week for the SEC.

A 3 loss team pretty much has to happen with everyone beating everyone. Boise or Tulane will get the G5 spot and ND looks like they will get in if they beat Southern Cal. Other than that though the ACC might get 2 and the Big 12 should be 1 but maybe gets 2 max which they really dont deserve. The ACC really doesnt deserve 2 either this year if SMU runs the table.

Im really not sure how any argument could be made for more than one G5 team when they all have multiple losses other than Boise and Army and Army showed they dont belong on the same field as a big program.

SMU could lose next week now that theyre already locked into the ACC championship. ND, Bama, Iowa State, Colorado could all easily lose next week. Even Oregon could lose to Washington. Washington isnt very good but Oregon has blown it the last 3 years against them in games they should have won. South Carolina should beat Clemson and OSU vs Michigan isnt a gimme with Days history against them. A&M can beat Texas as well.

More losses are on the way next week

Nah, there will be plenty of 1 and 2 loss deserving teams to choose from.

Alabama has lost 3 games. 2 of those losses are to 6-5 teams. They have no business being in the playoffs.

Has nothing to do with Bama. Milroe is a RB pretending to be a QB

The Big 12 has already guaranteed that at least a 2 loss team will get a top 4 spot and could be a 3 loss team. The ACC could as well if Miami loses to Syracuse and Clemson could be a 3 loss top 4 team if that happens. The SEC could have a 3 loss team as well win the conference.

Therers no argument for the G5 teams, and Indiana has proved they dont belong on the same field as a playoff team.

Not only could a 3 loss team get in the playoffs its possible for 3 of the 4 conference champions to have 3 losses. While unlikely that happens its more likely than not that one gets in with the 3 losses unless they just put in a lot of undeserving teams

Not so sure about this. #5 Indiana scored 15 against #2.

7 Alabama scored 3 against an unranked.

I think if Indiana wins their rivalry game next week, they're in. But its up to the committee.

SEC Championship game will be the winner of Texas-Texas A&M vs Georgia.
There are very many confusing calculations of the tiebreakers to figure that out, but they all come to the same answer.
