That’s about as close as we’re ever going to be on agreeing here. I would just be repeating myself about the total share vs the regular season share.

"Excellent question that cuts to the heart of the financial calculation for the Huskies and Ducks — and for Cal and Stanford in the ACC.

In each case, the teams are receiving partial shares of the media rights revenue (i.e., regular-season broadcast contracts) but full shares of the postseason revenue from the CFP and March Madness.

For Cal and Stanford, the partial shares work out to 33% for the first seven years before climbing for two years and reaching 100% for the last three years of the agreement.

"Oregon and Washington will receive 50% shares of Big Ten media rights revenue to the tune of $30 million in 2024 with annual $1 million escalators until the completion of its new deal with CBS, Fox and NBC, according to ESPN and The Inside Zone's Matt Fortuna."

Oregon and Washington are not getting a full media share, its no an opinion its a fact

A fact im not disputing. Im saying that it’s more than 50%. These are different things. It’s 50% for the regular season in 24. Then it goes up every year by $1M. You said this yourself. Then in 27 the new CFP deal will increase their shares more. They also get a full share of playoff revenue. That is in the article you’re quoting. It really doesn’t get more clear than that.

I was just saying it’s a good deal in the beginning. You’re like hunting for some weird angle to argue but I never said they were full shares of the total media revenue. I just said they’re not 50% share of the total media revenue.

You’ll probably say they are 50% share and I don’t want to go around in circles so believe what you want.

believe what you want. Its well documented but multiple med sources that Oregon and Washington wherever not deferred money but took significantly[ less Its well documented they had to do a lot to get accepted

You’re actually not saying anything false. You did omit the CFP deal which will be negotiated in 2027 and that Oregon and Wash. get a full share of that. But nothing false. It’s just your comprehension of the discussion it seems. You keep telling me that asserting something that I am not. I never said they were receiving a full share. They being Oregon and Wash. Then you tell me I can believe what I want. I believe the reality. They joined after the deal was finalized. They are receiving a 50% REGULAR SEASON media share. They received a 100% postseason media share. There is some other money they get for their round by round costs in CFP also which is like $4M per round. Ignoring that, for the simple math aspect their TOTAL media share is around .50 * $66M + $21M = $54M. And the extra that is dedicated for them. This prevents me from agreeing that they are only receiving a 50% media share. That would be $33M + $10.5M = $43.5M. $54M is larger than $43.5M so I believe their media share is more than 50%. All of the media reports which mention 50% likely mention that it’s the regular season share unless they’re trying to mislead the reader. Hope you learned something here.

Again I am only saying that I think it was a good deal for the B1G. 2024 was the only year where 50% would have been possible… had no team from the B1G made CFP. Next year they get an extra $1M so it’s over 50% but I wasn’t really considering that increase as meaningful. I was speaking about the CFP money, of which they get a full share.

Here’s an article that talks about the numbers.

    https://forum.fishduck.com/topic/15547-b1g-money-playoff-numbers-for-oregon-are-staggering/

I said I thought it was a good deal after you kept saying it was bad.

You said Oregon and Washington were mad that they took a bad deal and the other schools in the B1G were mad they got less because Oregon and Washington joined. I was only saying that I don’t think that’s true. They are making more than ever before.

Oregon Ducks will fall from the sky:

Can a duck be a duck but not exactly quack like duck and not exactly walk like a duck, but turn out to be an actual duck?

Lots of ducks don’t quack. Teals, goldeneyes, buffleheads, canvasbacks, scaup, widgeons and a host of others either chirp, whistle or make other mostly subdued noises.
However….the question specified** “and not exactly walk like a duck”. I have honestly never seen a duck that didn’t walk like one.**

    hehehehe
