FIVE-STAR ALABAMA QUARTERBACK ENTERS TRANSFER PORTAL.

Sayin hasnt played a snap and that one makes no sense. Either its another Ewers situation where they paid someone a ton of money to ride the bench for a year or Howard will be transfering again before the season.
All of the Alabama, Arizona, Washington, Fresno State transfers arent actually locked in untill May. The portal opens again for the last two weeks of April and anyone transferring from a team that had a coaching change it doesnt even count as a transfer
DeBoer will probably get fired from Bama in 2-3 years and Day is certainly on his last chance and will get fired when they fail again now that they have a new AD and boosters are throwing money around like crazy for transfer guys
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
I expect Ohio State or Georgia will be the pre-season #1, so if Day doesn't at least win the conference this upcoming season, he never will.
Alabama is up to 30 that have hit the Portal, but Julian Sayin is the first from the incoming recruiting class I believe.

The word is after Sayin bailed on Bama today, he is projected to transfer to Ohio State.

Michigan will likely be 1 in the polls but Vegas odds will probably have Georgia or OSU as the favorite like they have the last couple years.
I dont see Day getting another chance if he doesnt win the conference this year. Michigan has lost a ton, Harbaugh is probably leaving, and with the new format without divisions you can lose a game and still get to the title game. Also the Texas A&M AD they brought in has no loyalty to Day and he just gave Jimbo a 90 million dollar buy out to fire him during last season for not being good enough. They brought him in to lead them to championships.
Bama has lost like 4 to 5 key guys, most of the portal entrants happened before the playoffs from backup players which granted are still very good. A 5 star WR decommitted as soon as Saban retired. The big problem with Alabamas recruiting class was that like 85% of it finished high school early and was already on campus for the spring so they can all have the free transfer if they want.
Bama will likely take a step back. They should still be very good just not 800 pound Georgia good. Ole Miss has put together a top notch roster, Tennessee has a very highly touted young QB and should be a problem, LSU if they can figure out the defense will be a problem but they have an absurd schedule this year, Texas has WRs and TEs flocking to them to play with Ewers. DeBoer could easily be fired in 3 years losing 3 games a year
Sayin and Howard wont still be at OSU unless its Quinn Ewers part 2. Howard a grad transfer didnt go there to finish his career riding the bench and this transfer doesnt even count against Sayin. Who every gets the back up job is likely transferring again.
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Sayin will be a freshman so there is little chance him or Air Noland will be the starter. It will be Howard, and Sayin and Noland can compete in 2025.
I cant see the polls putting Michigan at the pre season #1 with all the players they are losing.
I think the top 5 will look something like this.
Georgia
Ohio State
Oregon
Texas
Michigan

Sayin could sit for a year, still would be a bit weird since with the new coach and Milroe not being that good he had a chance to start at Bama. He also could just sit for a year and transfer again. Until hes taking snaps and we see what he looks like its more a recruiting thing than anything. Archie lost the back up job his freshman year he was so bad in the spring and QBs miss at a very high rate.
I dont think Michigan should be #1 but think they will because it would be extremely rare for preseason rankings to drop the defending winner more than 1 or 2 spots. TCU last year should have started unranked but started high because they finished 2 the year before
Real favorites going into next year so far barring something massive with the spring transfers
Agree Georgia 1
Texas and OSU in any order for 2 and 3
After that any order you want for playoff teams with FSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, probably Oklahoma State or Kansas State winning the Big 12, and then just a ton of teams that could be there like LSU with an insane schedule, Penn State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Iowa if they figure out an offense, Alabama or hopefully Deboer didnt buy a house yet, some group of 5 team will that will likely lose first round. Washington will probably be a repeat of what happened to TCU. I dont expect much from UCLA or USC with the schedules and the travel.
Georgia Texas and OSU at the moment on paper have the rosters that are above everyone else with a couple teams like Bama (if they dont keep bleeding players) and Ole Miss not that far behind. Michigan will have to deal with the triple transfer portal if Harbaugh leaves and still faces punishment from the NCAA for the same things that brought sanctions and a title being stripped that happened to Louisville and USC
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
DeBoer brought in Austin Mack from Washington, then Sayin entered the transfer portal.
Sayin is very good, watched a lot of tape of him.
Go Dawgs!
I'm still a bit dumbfounded that we haven't had any of the Bama transfers throw our way.
Mack wasnt why he entered. Sayin like Proctor were flipped at the last second by Saban and Bama barely got them. Once Saban left they were going to go back to their original choices especially when he saw some other guys moving.
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Its actually not all that surprising. The big 4 were a WR, LT, S, and CB. The CB Georgia has better ones already. The Safety as good as he is would have had to compete for a job. GA has starters there already. Bond the WR they would have liked but Texas has 3 WRs going to the draft and WRs are flocking there to play with Ewers with playing time wide open. Beck is a first round QB too but spreads the ball more and they use TEs more.
The LT Proctor no one had a chance at but Iowa. Hes from Iowa and was committed to them for 2 years before Saban stole him at the last second. He was only at Bama because of Saban and if he didnt stay was going back to Iowa for sure which he did.
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
.
.
You're wrong about Sayin, he wasn't flipped in the last second.
It wasnt to the extent of Proctor, but he was favored elsewhere before his commit to Alabama. You are right it happened earlier and I was using last second more in the decision sense than the actual sense of a deadline.
Saban was visiting him as recently as December 2023. It was never some lock and was a struggle the whole time
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Your google search has gone crazy.
Struggle? Sayin committed to Bama on 11-2-22....thats 2022....sounds like a lock to me.
He even recruited for his class
First visit, June of 2022, 1 of 7 visits. Bama got the only offical visit.
BTW........the other school was LSU
Commitment isnt anything until pen is on paper and they set foot on campus. You can say youve committed anytime it doesnt mean its binding. Florida lost a super star QB to Tennessee who was committed and had already even signed and got out of it before setting foot on campus
Saban wouldnt have been in his house in December last month trying to keep him if it was so locked in stone. He was going to leave once Saban did
Players are free agents twice a year as soon as they set foot on campus
If you want to try and say Sayin was worried about Mack than he wasnt the guy to begin with
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
December 2023, but sure he was locked down to Bama somehow and Saban wasnt worried about it
Bama fans are going to find out for the first time in a long time what recruiting actually is and what is binding and not. Simply walking in saying I'm Saban will not be enough to lock down verbal commits or keep people out of the portal. It might be for Kirby but Bama is not at that level anymore until they prove they can get back to the top of the mountain with a new coach
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Saban and all good coaches do in home visits before signing day.....duhhhhhh
Not for guys locked in. Saban was able to recruit in a way that commitments generally stuck. DeBoer will have to prove hes worth that. Sayin had already finished HS early to get on campus in the spring by that point skipping his spring semester of HS which is why he was able to transfer since Bama had started classes and he was enrolled
I dont blame Saban for retiring on a pretty high note winning the SEC, but if he didnt retire the starters are still there and Sayin almost certainly is. Most of the guys that have left have stated that they were there to play for Saban. Its not Sabans fault and hes tried to keep helping out, but for now Bama is a program with something to prove again for the first time in almost 2 decades.

.
Who said otherwise?
.
.
Never said Mack was the reason. I was committing on the 5th post by CS
I said Mack came in, then Sayin left the next day. I was talking time frame.
Everybody knows Sayin and the other players left because Saban left, that's a no brainer.
Ryan Day is on quite the hot streak just landing the #1 ranked Quarterback today after he bailed from Bama.

They already had another in the recruiting class not even counting Howard. Someone will be leaving if not 2 in April
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Noland Has dedicated himself to the team. He looks to be the part. The portal allows us to find someone if he isn’t. I would rather they show dedication to Noland, even though Julian did not do anything wrong.
Good to see our AAA farm team in Tuscaloosa is providing top talent.

No star has dedicated anyone to any team. If anyone is that good they leave if they wont be starting. They may fight for a job for a year but if theyre still a backup they leave. Texas lost their backup QB before the playoffs for the same reasons. Its not the 1990s anymore guys arent stuck somewhere. Someone will be leaving OSU after the spring
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Michigan won't be #1 in any polls going into next year. They're losing waaaay too much for that. It'll be Georgia, as it already was in ESPN's first poll for next year.
Georgia is the correct one. When Harbaugh leaves that will give them the excuse they need to really drop Michigan, but they usually give weight to returning champs/finalists for the preseason polls anyways.

And that coach is Sherrone Moore.
Michigan DC leaving for the Chargers as well.
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Yeah, that was 100% expected, wherever Captain Khakis landed.
For sure that was expected. Its just waiting to see what repercussions there may be since their two most desired players other teams would want to poach are both on the defense
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Michigan losing their strength and conditioning coach to the Chargers as well. He was the highest paid strength and conditioning coach in the country and considered a big part of their success
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Not major major but Boston College coach leaving for the Packers. Transfer portal now open for them
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
I can't reasonably understand how a strength and conditioning coach can be that much better than the next one
It can be a surprising difference with the ability to mold programs position specifically and how players are recovering. Theres a lot of electronic monitoring now measuring things like output on lifts and so on. Some of it too is just being liked. The NFLPA survey of players some of the teams just hated their staff for it
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
Easy. Better at tailoring programs to individual guys, better at connecting on a personal level, etc.
Rose Bowl Stadium to dedicate statue in honor of two-time Heisman Winner Archie Griffin.
PASADENA, Calif. (February 2, 2024) College football's only two-time Heisman Trophy winner, Archie Griffin, will be celebrated with a statue at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Griffin, a member of the Rose Bowl Game® (1990) and College Football Hall of Fames (1986), is one of just two players ever to have started in four consecutive Rose Bowl Games® and won the Heisman Trophy in 1974 and 1975. The 2024 college football season is the 50th anniversary of Griffin's first Heisman Trophy award.
Adjacent to the Griffin statue in the Stadium's Court of Champions, a Legends Walk will also be created to highlight and educate visitors on the 19 Heisman Trophy winners that have played in the Rose Bowl Game® up to the current day. Led by Griffin's four appearances in Pasadena, student-athletes from schools such as UCLA, Wisconsin, Oregon, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan and more will be represented in the neighboring Legends Walk.
The unveiling and dedication event of the Archie Griffin statue and Legends Walk, which will be open to the public, will take place in mid-August 2024 at America's Stadium in Pasadena. Additional information about this event will be announced at a later time.
"I am humbled to have a statue in my honor at the Rose Bowl Stadium, one of the most prestigious stadiums in America. I feel blessed to have played in four Rose Bowl Games," said Archie Griffin, a Rose Bowl Game® and College Football Hall of Fame member. The Rose Bowl Game® All-Century player continued, "But please know that when you honor me with this recognition, you also honor the teams that I played on during my four years at The Ohio State University. I was simply in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. That's what allowed me to enjoy the success that my teammates and I experienced. Again, I am extremely grateful to be honored in this manner."

Yet 0 titles and cant even win the B!G anymore. NFL rookie of the year has nothing to do with college. All the NFL matters is if you get drafted or not. Where you go in the NFL plays a big role in success

Says the BIG TEN hater . They lost by six points on the road to the National Champions.
And you failed to mention FIVE playoff appearances in nine years. Only Bama and Clemson have more.

Massive new deal for the playoffs. Conferences will meet next week to determine the money distribution of the 1.3 to 1.6 billion annually being reported that ESPN will be paying. The PAC 2 is going to be stripped of it automatic bid in the 12 team playoff and the 4 highest ranked conference champions will get a first round bye. Washington State and Oregon State are pushing back about losing their automatic bid as the PAC 2 which will be an interesting development in the vote.

Georgia didnt lose anyone of note. They resigned as well. One was probably told they were going in a different direction and the other probably had some substance issues again which hes posted about before. Michigan has a new head coach, of course Harbaugh took some to the NFL and turnover always happens in those situations.
